As Lieutenant Horatio Nebuka (NPC)
Looking back to see there is a puppy on board, Lieutenant Nebuka smiles, then takes the stick and gently lifts the raptor off the ground, moving the craft forward slowly then throttling up and heading into the atmosphere. Looking over at his co-pilot, Lieutenant Kelly Rondo, he speaks into his headset.
"Next stop, Colonial Marine Fort Endeavor ladies and gentlemen, and puppy!"

Elea smiles watching Jenna and Zarena playing with the baby dog. Relishing in their growing family.
"My how far we have come," she whispered to the baby boy.

Having finally arrived at the Castorious residence to begin her 30 days of shore leave, Alicia opens the front door, stepping into the house. Looking around, she smiles. Setting her bags on the floor, she takes off her jacket and places it on the back of the couch. Sniffing the air, she walks over to a window and opens it, then going around the house and opening all the windows. She walks upstairs and does the same thing there. The house had been closed up for a few years now. Even with the household staff maintaining the residence, nobody had been there in several weeks. Finally stopping and sitting on the couch, Alicia finally relaxes.
"No matter where I go, this will always be home."
A few minutes later, she falls asleep on the couch.

Elea returned home from shopping to find Alicia sleeping. There was a soft chill in the breeze coming in through the window. She covered her with a blanket quietly then took the baby into the bedroom to sleep as well. Rounding the corner of the stairway she headed for the kitchen.

The sounds of explosions woke Alicia. She jumped up from the bed and rushed to the window. Looking out the second story window, she could see the pillars of smoke rising from the city, some one hundred kilometers away to the southwest. She knew what was happening, It had been a little over three months since she had been placed on shore leave but now it was time to return to duty. She rushed downstairs and picked up the phine. Nothing. Obviously the lines would be down. She walked over to the closet and opened the door, grabbing her jacket from inside. Going through the pockets, she found her comm device. FRAK! The thing was dead as well. She didn't know if there were any vehicles on the premises. Usually, there was at least one military type vehicle here but ever since the Castorious-Kaun clan had departed this palce some years back to rejoin the Fleet, things were run much differently. Hell, there wasn't even any staff here, even on a part-time basis. She ran out to the large outbuilding behind the reisdence and opened the large slidnig doors. Finally, a break. She looked inside the vehicle to find the keys there in the ignition. Starting the vehicle, she moved it outside and next to the house. Leaving it running, she rushed back inside to grab her gear. She knew she would most likely never return so she grabbed just the basics. Nothing mattered now but getting tothe military. The closest base was the Colonial Marine Base north of the city, if it were still there. Getting into the vehicle, she drove down the road thata led off of the property and to the road that would eventually lead her to the base. The drive would still take about an hour and a lot could happen in an hour.

J awoke from what seemed like a months long sleep. Heading down the stairs, he stopped. He cocked his ehad to the right for a second. Nothing. No voices, no television or wireless. No sounds outside for that matter either. He was instantly reminded as to just how lonely this place could be. Continuing down the stairs he made his way to the kitchen. He looked around the place, sensing that something was not entirely right. Nobody. No Elea. No girls. Nobody. He walked to the fridge, opening the door. No food either. Guess it was time to go shopping. Yeah, nothing like buying groceries for one. Of course, he was reminded as to where the others were. Elea would be at the Fleet hospital, the girls there with here helping in any way possible. His last official act before turning the Presidency over to Carlie McPherson was to retire Elea and the girls from service. That fact apparently had been lost on the three of them since they continued to serve the Fleet. At least this time it was on the surface and close to home.

Alicia was hurriedly getting things packed up, all the while making certain that the household staff was not forgetting anything, to include making sure their own families would be ready to leave when the time came, which according to the message she got from J himself, it would be soon. He wasn't waiting around fro anyone to decide what to do. This supernova was going to find its way here and regardless of its strength, J wasn't taking any chances.
The girls were both home now, as well as the young boy and Eleas father. Elea of course, was still working at the hospital, performing surgeries and treating patients. She would be coming home soon though, J had seen to that. The CMS Marauder would actually make a rare planetary landing, about a kilometer from the residence. J had pulled some strings to make it happen of course. The ship was more than large enough to accommodate everyone to include supplies and equipment. J had made the decision to go to Avalon as opposed to the Colonies or even Kobol. Alicia had no desire to go to the Colonies or Kobol either. There was nothing back home for anyone as far as she was concerned.

Sitting there in his chair on the bridge, Joseph was anxious to get this mission done and over with. The idea of a surface landing did not really appeal to him, it never did. This was one time he could not refuse the request. Looking over at his Navigator he gave the command to descend.
"Leftenant, proceed to planetary coordinates 48.86319° N, 2.339754° E. Confirm."
"Nav, confirm coordinates 48.86319° N, 2.339754° E, Aye Sir. Descending now, entry into atmosphere in five, four, three, two, one."
The ship shuddered as it entered into the atmosphere, hurtling through the air at well over 1500 km/h. Suddenly they were through and into the lower atmosphere. Joseph looked over at the Helmsman.
"Helm, slow to 500 km/h"
"Helm, slowing to 500, Aye Sir"
Joseph looked out the front of the ship and could see the continent of Corinth coming into view. Within a few minutes he could see the lines of the capital city. They would soon be at their destination, the Castorious home. Pressing a comm key to the Landing Bay, Joseph called to his XO, a young woman whose parents he knew from Canceron.
"XO, be ready. The Terrans aren't going to be too happy with us making an unannounced landing so we need to move fast. Get your team out the door the moment we touch down. You have 30 minutes to get everyone and get back, copy?"
"Yes Captain, I get it. We've gone over this a dozen times today alone. We'll get them here in time Sir, trust me."
Joseph trusted the woman but he also knew with any mission, something always goes wrong. The voice of his Nav Officer brought his attention back to the landing.
"Sir, we are at the coordinates and making our final approach for landing. Strobes have been lit on the surface. Touch down in 30 seconds."
Joseph sat there, watching as the ground came up to them. Within moments they had touched down. Looking at the clock, he waited. The voice of his XO came over the comm.
"Landing team away, see you shortly."
"Okay, keep an eye out for any friendlies coming to investigate and stand by."

J sat there on the front porch, for the last time. His children and wife, as well as his father-in-law, were still inside, making certain nothing was left that really mattered. The household staff was already at the landing site ready to begin loading everything. J would be the last one to leave, with Elea at his side. He watched as his wife handed out instructions like she was ordering troops into battle. Alicia and Sgt Timmy were in the yard, watching everything as usual. The Centurions attention was of course on the twins, as it had been since they were born. His thoughts turned to their destination, Canceron. The radiation had subsided to acceptable levels and much faster than anyone could have predicted. Still, he wasn't so sure about returning home. It wasn't the same place. Although it had been a little over 20 years for him and everyone else that escaped the Colonies, the passage of time had been much longer back home. Looking at his watch, he turned his gaze upwards. On time, of course. He watched as the Marauder streaked overhead and began to come in for a landing in the clearing about a half kilometer to the east of the house. He gestured to Alicia. It was time.
"Mount them up Major."

All across the city, sirens began wailing, the type of sirens alerting to an attack. As citizens and military personnel looked up and all around for what could possibly be a reason for the sirens going off, a sudden flash of light high above the city burst, then within seconds, everything-buildings, trees, people-were hit with a massive shock wave.
For a good five minutes, there was nothing but the deafening sound of buildings collapsing and what could only be described as a massive wind storm, like the sound of a hundred thousand aircraft flying overhead. Then, silence. The scene was nothing short of total destruction of the city, although a few dozen sturdier buildings still stood. What had once been a great city was now mostly piles of rubble. The dead would number on the hundreds of thousands, the injured and wounded many times that number.
