As Elea's Father:
The girls' paw paw bolted down the stairs believing that Zarena had finally gotten the best of Jenna while Timmy was recharging.
"What in Tauron Hell is going on here?" he said as he rushed down the stairs noticing the girls, presently without blood or injuries on them, with the letter.
He saw their sad faces then took the letter reading it briskly.
He laughed heartedly. "Aren't you proud of Alicia? She is a Colonial Marine at heart, and though you two are quite a physical and mental challenge, she is trained for more intense combat, and our troops could use her special skills."
He paused for a moment: "Just what were those special skills that no one except their father was privy to."

Elea walked up to the house as she exited from the official Colonial limosine. She picked up the paper, grabbed the mail then saw their dog barking in the window.
"It's good to be home," she said as she opened the door and noticed the surprised eyes of her twin daughters.
Jenna began to cry as her arms opened wide to her mother. Zarena began to jump up and down, screaming for Grandpa.

After what seemed like an eternity, the vehicle bringing J home pulled up to the house. Smiling at the driver, J stepped out and reached in the back to grab his bag. Standing there, J smiled and looked at the home. Nothing like a new home and a new beginning. Walking up the steps to the porch, J could hear the girls inside, and from the sound of it, his wife was also home. Not wanting to waste a perfect moment, J quickly opened the door and dramatically entered, dropping his bag as he did so.
"Just what in all that is Colonial is going on here?"

The girls were oogling and taking turns holding the baby when daddy came home and walked up the sidewalk.
Zarena, almost running, put the baby down on the sofa and began racing for the door.
"Zarena, what the ... Daddy's home!" Jenna cried out then ran for the door both throwing their arms around him kissing and talking about him in such a frantic fashion that a mob scene could have been interpreted more easily.
"Don't worry girls, I'll keep the baby from hurting himself," Elea said picking him up from the bouncy cushion.

Having stepped into the house and placing his bags down, J braced himself for the onslaught of his daughters rushing towards him. Unfortunately, J was not fully prepared for the full effect of two overly excited girls, and in his usual fashion, J fell backwards and out the door. To their credit, Jenna and Zarena managed to not injure J as they both fell on top of him. J could not help himself from laughing.
"WOW! If only my Marines had become this happy to see me, I would have been a completely happy Colonial Marine! I take it you two girls are happy to see your daddy? Well, let me see what I have inside my bags for you two little mischevious angels."
As J was busy moving his hands inside one of his bags, both girls continued to sit partially on top of him, large grins on their faces and their eyes open as wide as they could get them. J loved seeing his daughters like this and he did everything he could to prolong the moment. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to the girls, J pulls out two hand-made dolls that he had purchased from one of the local women in Gondawa. Surprisingly, they both were fashioned to resemble Jenna and Zarena, almost to the point of beeing eerily dead on.
"Here you two go and I want you to be careful with these, they were hand made by a veery old woman in Gondawa and she told me they contain a little of your spirit inside."
As the girls finally got up off of J, he continued to search inside the bag, finally producing two hats that had the girls names sewn on the outside of them, along with matching t-shirts.
"And these were made by a street vendor near Fleet headquarters. I thought they were so cute, I couldn't resist buying them!"
J could tell from the looks his daughters gave him (especially Jenna), that he had bought them the corniest gifts possible. Jenna of course made certain not to disappoint her father and she promptly place her hat on her head, the hat turned slightly sideways. With that, both girls kissed their father and ran off upstairs to their rooms, fighting as usual on the way up. J got up off the floor and looked at his wife.
"So, what other excitement have I missed? Ooohh! The baby!"
J kneeled down to pick up his son, smothering the child with kisses. The baby returned the favor by coughing up a substance that looked like a cross between porridge and thick soup. J ignored the mess and continued to kiss his son, all the while bouncing him. It was obvious what was about to happen........

Elea smiled at J.
"Home at last! Girls, where is your grandfather?"
Jenna yelled down from up the stairs: "Out to the store to get more ingredients for dinner. He said something about a big surprise but I have no idea what he meant."

Timmy stood behind the humans, observing them. Now that the Colonial Marine officer was here, Timmy's neural processor was unsure as to what the centurion's function would now be. Of course, it wasn't normal for a centurion's neural processor to even be "thinking" this sort of "thought", after all, centurions were machines and had no "thoughts" or even feelings for that matter.
Of course, Timmy was no ordinary centurion. He had become "attached" to this human family, especially the two younger human females. Now, there was a new human in the family only Timmy could not figure out what it was or what function it served. The two young females, Timmy knew their function immediately-to put themselves into as much danger and trouble as possible, thus requiring him to always be vigilant. Vigilant meant busy and centurions, for lack of a better term, enjoyed being busy. Busy meant active and active meant learning and downloading new data. Centurions were of course, self-aware and as any self-aware entity should be, learning new knowledge was the primary objective in its existence.
Still, Timmy wondered what exactly would become of him? For the time being, there was a new small and fragile human that would require his constant attention to. No harm would ever come to this human as long as Timmy was present.

Jenna continued to wipe up the mess that her baby brother had spewed all over the floor, all thanks to her dad bouncing the baby. Men! How they ever manage to survive each day was beyond her. Looking up at her father, Jenna was so glad he was home. Hearing her mother mention Timmy's name, Jenna suddenly jumped up, running over to the shiny centurion.
"TIMMY! You shiny knight! Where have you been hiding yourself?"
Looking at her mother, Jenna was all giggles and excitement.
"Oh mother, everyone is home! Well, almost everyone. As soon as grandpa gets back, everyone will be home. Now, if we can only do something about Zarena."

"Standign behind her sister, Zarena listened to Jenna. Taking the broom she was holding, Zarena brought the straw end up and bopped Jenna on the back of her head.
"Hey silly, did you forget about someone? Alicia isn't here, so everyone ISN'T home."
Looking at her mother, Zarena flashed her very best smile, trying to mimick her mother. Turning to Jenna, Zarena called her to come help finish cleaning the kitchen.
"C'mon Jenna, let's finish getting the kitchen clean and ready for grandpa's surprise."

"OH, I suppose! We'll get the kitchen so clean, we'll probably get some sort of cleaning award, you know?"

I'm sure something can be arranged girls. Zarena, don't hit your sister, save your aggression for the academy.
Jenna, have you fixed my computer yet? It still keeps hiccuping and regurgitating old re-runs of BSG.

*Timeline note. The events portrayed here took place prior to Alicia reporting to the Acheron*
Several days prior to Alicia reporting aboard the Battlestar Acheron for duty, Alicia returns to the Kaun household to retrieve a few items she had forgotten, and to formally say her farewell to the girls. While being driven to the house from the Marine base near the city, the Sergeant driving looks over at Alicia.
"So reporting for duty aboard the Acheron huh? I bet you're ready for that after all the admin stuff you've been doing the past few weeks. Yeah, I'm hoping to get an assignment on a ship soon. This planetary duty is killing me with boredom. So, it's going to be some surprise when the general, uh I mean Major Castorious sees you. Guess he can't pull rank on you anymore huh Major?"
Alicia looks at the Sergeant, tired of his conversation already. being ever polite though, Alicia replies to his attempt at small talk.
"The chances of me seeing Major Castorious are slim and none. I am certain he is busy fighting his forced retirement. Well, looks like we're here Sergeant. Thanks for the lift and let the motor pool know I'll get a ride back to the base when I'm ready to head out."
Grabbing her cap, Alicia closes the door and walks towards the house. Stepping onto the massive front porch, she turns the door nob and walks in, seeing Elea standing there. Right next to her is the Major. Stunned to see him, Alicia blushes just a little bit, then speaks.
"Well, isn't this a surprise! The last time I saw the two of you, in this house, together was what, a few years ago or something like that? Well, I can see HQ's little drama hasn't taken its toll on you. Mistress Elea, it is so nice to see you. I uh apologize for how I left. Duty calls and I didn't want a messy mushy goodbye, so I took the cowards way out. But, I'm back, if only for a day or two to get a few things I forgot and I want to make it up, to all of you."

Elea hugged the slightly shy and uncomfortable woman, now pressed and tucked into her Colonial Marine uniform, and looking so crisp and professional.
"I will always know who kept our family together through all those crazy adventures we had. It was both you and my father." Elea turns to see him in the window smiling as he watched Alicia return. He continued to put the final touches on dinner.
With greatfulness, Elea took Alicia's hand and pulled ever so lightly.
"We are very proud of you, Alicia. And we know the Colonial Marines are in most excellent hands under your command. But before you leave, won't you please have dinner with us? My father has been hoping to see you all week, and he has been preparing non-stop when he heard you might possibly be coming back to see us. You have really made your way into the hearts of this family. We'd love to say good bye more properly."

J stood there watching as his wife and Alicia hugged and spoke. He listened to Elea's words, nodding in approval as she spoke. J was very grateful for Alicia's presence all these past years, what with his duties in the Fleet and the government and with the fact his wife was just as involved, and therefore absent. Had it not been for Alicia, and of course his father-in-law, the twins would never have been raised, not in a normal fashion. J was glad to have the opportunity to see Alicia once more and to pay his respects to her. Stepping closer to Elea and Alicia, J smiled and spoke.
"Yes Alicia, we are very grateful to you and can never thank you enough. So, it seems as if there is some sort of special feast being prepared and I believe it to be mostly in your honor. How about a glass of the local wine while we wait for dinner to be ready?"
