Getting off the mountain was pretty easy with gravel field from previous glaciers, dropping his transponder in the stream to ensure this is truly personal time together. Keeping his P90 in his hands, he was cautious about the forest since most of his bad experiences have come from the forest. Evanna seemed to be quite confident in where she was headed to but he hated being in the dark...maybe that was a piece of him from his old SF days. If it wasn't for all the dangers in the forest, this would be the perfect place to live maybe have a house hidden away. It was a bit like the massive countryside on Terra but he wondered what Evanna had in store for him. Coming out of the forest to cross past the tree lines, Evanna gazed out into the small meadow, surrounded by the smaller peaks on Kobol. She had walked the path many times before, but her first journey through had been to find Jonathan. It seemed a lot more wild then, the surrounding area crawling with wolves and other predators that had preyed on scouts passing through. "So, how much trouble do you think you'll be in for taking off?"
Smirking, she hadn't expected for them to break away from the group and get enough of a head start. But if it lead to trouble for him, she was determined to take the blame for something that had been her idea in the first place. It was the only time they could get together, other than being stuck in a hospital room together. "Almost there, it's not much further." Eva slung her bag over her shoulder, digging her boots into the uphill terrain. It led them through the tall trees and over the hill until the remnants of a small camp was in site, tucked away in an alcove. Beyond that was the remains of an old, long abandoned research outpost. "You can see the best sunrise and sunset on Kobol from here. But, this was the first place I found when I went looking for you before."

It was a long trip from Caprica to Kobol, with most of the team either already passed out or ready to practically jump from the ship just to get some rack time. Her last stationing had been Caprica, assisting in relief efforts to rebuild the cities and locate civilians, earning her reinstatement as a Captain in the Terran navy. Only now, she was told before long there would be no Terra, and this planet was to become home to all of those people. Much of the planet was still in need of scouting, settlements needed to be built to contain the Terran population. And yet, the orders given to her couldn’t have been more vague. Go to Kobol and find someone in charge? It left her and the small team wondering what they’d be flying into. ”Looks like we’re going to have to put ‘er down here. We’re running on fumes at this point,” the pilot called back, and with a nod from Isabela, he began a slow approach to the ground, towards a big enough clearing to set the small transport ship down. ”Alright, spread out but don’t go too far. We don’t have orders yet, and we don’t know what’s out there...”Driving onto the dirt path, the road to Othos was a mess from a recent storm but he was seeing a side of the forest that he hasn't been to before. Coming to a stop, the road was gone leading to a forest and the connection for his tactical pad was gone. There was a clearing ahead as he nudged forward but wondered what was out here; that was his explorer talking. Entering the clearing, he noticed tents and right away seeing soldiers but these were Marines and a transport in the center. Pulling up, Victor could see the Marines ordering him out of the car as he switched it off and stepping out of the vehicle. Pulling out his credentials, Victor could only hope that they were up to date cause he was truly on his own. Hearing a vehicle approaching, Isabella tucked her sidearm into the strap on her hip before stepping out of the transport, blue eyes glancing into the makeshift sick bay tents that she passed by . The unease she felt towards the planet had grown in only a matter of days, as a few of the men had fallen ill since their arrival. They'd grown too accustomed to Caprica, and now sudden change was somewhat too much to bare for some. "Take it easy, guys," she called out to the marines as she approached to see what the commotion was. Passing by the men, she waved them off before turning her attention to the stranger. "Apologies. They're all a bit on edge right now. We ran out of fuel and were forced to land, not to mention communications have been down and we have quite a few sick here."

He had seen this sickness before at New Amsterdam and knew it was the pollen since it cleared up after a bit of antibiotic treatments and a vaccine that he help make. Popping open the trunk, Victor put the key fob back in his pocket; "I've seen this sickness before and we have a cure for it. The drugs are in my medical bag and about 100mgs should help them and plenty of fluids." It was no secret that landing on Kobol was a difficult task especially given that his trip here they landed in a swamp. That swamp still left terrible memories with the terrors of the night but there was dead spots all over. Turning to the woman, he noticed the ranks as he cleared up his throat; "Shit luck I stumbled upon your camp and nearest encampment is 30 miles back the way came."

Brows rose in surprise, knowing that if he hadn’t accident found them, many on her team would die. After leaving Caprica, they all knew the risks of trying to settle in a place like this so soon. Isabela had yet to fall victim to whatever came over the others, but a few more days might have changed that. “We welcome any help you can give. They were fairly vague in the details when they sent us off of Caprica.” With the vaccine to handle the illness, they were still left with the issue of refueling. If they nearest station was miles away, it meant asking for help again, especially when supplies were close to drained. “I don’t suppose you have a radio to spare? I haven’t received orders yet, but we can’t stay here.” They could have started walking in either direction at first, but she knew well enough it could end in disaster from the sickness or wildlife that crept in the shadows at night.

Heading to the back, Victor slipped on a pair of gloves as he picked up his pack as well as a long range radio before walking towards Isabela; "Well, most likely they simply lost track of you," kneeling into the broken down grass as he opened up his bag. Pulling out a plastic case that contained the vaccines, handing them over to the Marines while he pulled out one for her; "Roll up that sleeve if you will." He had seen the chaos when he was at New London, container ships rushing to the surface with its cargo falling off the ship. It was absolute shock that fearful people had came down like this and well this was the result. Giving her the vaccine, even if she didn't show any symptoms this was a preventable measure; "Don't feel bad, they told me that this was originally a scouting assignment and next thing I know is that Terra is gone. The General might just sent a recon team till they can bring over fuel," packaging the used syringe for proper disposal later on.

They said they saw things, that weren’t there or couldn’t possibly be.” Isabela was thankful for the vaccine, that she hadn’t gotten sick like the others or seen things that weren’t there, that might bring up bad memories. “Is that what you were doing out here? Scouting?” With Terra gone and no need for its Navy, so to speak, she had been left wondering why she was sent her in the first place. It could have been that they needed everyone they could muster, but so far, it was off to a bad start. “Last question,” she began again, smirking as she looked back over at Victor, “Who is the General in charge? I guess I should know who to report to when we finally get to the base.”

I guess I should know who to report to when we finally get to the base.” Victor knew of the visions since he had heard and even witnessed it himself which slowed the work on the vaccine. Crossing his arms, he tapped on his tactical pad as he brought up the channels in an attempt to expedite the General but focused on Isabela; "Take it from someone that went through the worst of it, it's a godsend not to go through it. Even better for the pilots, we had pilots talking about monstrous beasts attacking their craft which slowed down the larger construction projects." Connecting to an emergency band, Victor typed out a message to General Thrax for raptors to come to his location. With him still clearly in New Corinth territory, it would be pointless to talk to General White. Flipping off the pad, Victor could tell that she seemed unsure of where she fits in all of this; "I was actually not scouting but headed to a city in the northern territories, Othos, relied on an old an old road carved by animals. But a lot of Navy officers came here to lend a hand though building a new Navy is always on the table," glancing down to see that they were a few hours till nighttime which meant raptors don't fly at night, "there are several but split along cities and regions. General Thrax is the General of this territory and if a raptor squadron left already then it'll arrive in 6 hours. They never fly in straight lines...its protocol since we're still exploring a lot of Kobol." Opening the trunk, maybe it was his training that was kicking in or the fear he had for the impending darkness since his first night here still haunted him. Pulling out his tactical gear and removing a panel to get a weapon while he spoke to her; "Also raptors don't fly at night only Vipers do since it's the uncertainty that the pilots don't like," loading up his P90 as he clipped it to his vest.

Being woken up by the approach alarm, Jack put his hat back on with his sunglasses as he sat up in the seat. The six hour trip let him catch up on sleep while Armistice did the same and honestly they needed it. Getting up from his chair, he walked to the back with his rifle in hand as the raptors finally set down into the grass. Opening the hatch, Jack stepped out onto the grass as Armistice ran up to him as he walked up to Victor; "Suggest loading the injured or sick but more raptors will arrive in the morning."
Booting up his tactical pad, Jack noticed that his teams were still quite a ways out and darkness was falling. Pulling out his night vision goggles, Jack looked around the camp to be amazed that they managed to survive with this. Speaking softly to Isabela, Jack knew after all this that he could discuss the future since she has led to this long against all odds; "Sorry about the long wait but after this we can discuss your future."

The team could endure another night in the forest now if they had to, she knew that despite how badly they wanted a hot meal and a decent rack to sleep in. Some might have considered the trip to Kobol as down time; she should have, after a year spent working continuously to help on Caprica. But the only thing she felt was the urge to push on, find a purpose here and serve until she couldn’t. For someone who had nothing now, being here seemed to be a least a small beacon of hope, or had been. “I’ll be sure the rest of the team knows they owe you a few rounds for saving their asses after this.” She smirked at Victor before her eyes turned to the sky, watching as raptors made their approach to settle down on the ground with a team moving in to help the sick. She waited a moment until the General had approached them before speaking up. “Thank you, sir. I doubt we would have lasted much longer if the Specialist here hadn’t found us.” While everyone was ready to leave, there was one thing still weighing on her conscience. A part of her already suspected the outcome, but she owed it to her men to put in a last effort. “Before we discuss the future... I sent two of my men out days ago, against my better judgement, when everyone fell ill. I had hoped they could find assistance close by, but they haven’t returned and the supplies they had would be gone by now.” She hated it, and would have gone herself if it hadn’t meant leaving the rest of the team. Two of her brightest soldiers, and she had likely sent them to their death. “With permission, I would like to try and locate them. No one should be left behind.”

Two of her brightest soldiers, and she had likely sent them to their death. “With permission, I would like to try and locate them. No one should be left behind.” Receiving a timer from the pilots, he knew most hated being out at night and knew of the activity in this region was intense. Listening to the Captain, Jack knew traveling so close to night is dangerous and knew daylight would provide more help. Speaking softly to the young woman, he noticed the Specialist was unpacking his explosives to shore up the perimeter; "Specialist did his job so I'm here to do mine as well. As for your two men, myself and the Specialist can help but not till morning. You know first hand how dangerous this place is at night and coming off a minor pollination of this planet it makes that intensity worse. Trust me, I have reports from my teams that endured the worse and almost died." Giving Armistice a treat before mounting his camera pack to his back and sending him into the treeline. Terran dogs for centuries have been killing people at a higher rate than their human counterparts and with more coming out of hibernation they were taking on Kobol's wild. Speaking once more, he looked over the camp with him honestly surprised that they lasted; "I've got teams that can learn from you and your men but at least one should be here soon to help. The Raptors will be leaving in an hour with the wounded and sick," reaching into the Specialist vehicle for his new Kobol MRE as he offered it to her, "just as good as the stuff back home except by the end we all might be vegetarians."

Pulling out claymores, det cord and his stockpile of G4 and C4; Victor could setup trip lines and even ranged detonators that are now commonly used. Though, with each trap, he marked it on a nearby tree with orange tape to warn those coming to assist.
Unlike the others, he got his trial by fire at Site 1 before the massive fencing went up. While building the bunker, they would endure night after night of assaults and soon returned to basics with campfires to create a barrier. Now the site was protected since it's the breadbasket of Kobol providing food to Kobol City and New Corinth even allowing trading with the Ha'La Tha. In comparison, it was a well guarded village that was careful about its space.
Laying down the last of his charges, he opened his pack to lay out his collapsible LMGs that provided a small punch. Victor knew the nickname for this region, Diablo, the teams have stalled here since this region is only awake at night.

Walking cautiously behind her, Jonathan laughed a bit as he walked behind her while keeping his senses at a heightened state; "I doubt we'll ever get in trouble. Our job is to explore and well we're exploring." Climbing the hill, he let his P90 hang from his chest as he dug into hillside as he noticed the area had an unusual flatness that wasn't natural. Following her, there are moments when he thought she was lost before approaching the stone outpost which appeared to be 13th tribe in origin. Surprised by the position, this area was probably more of an observation much like Site B was also a multipurpose site. Dropping his own pack, he set his rifle down as he spoke softly; "You have a real eye for beauty," looking down at his watch, "I'll go ahead and get setup for the night," turning to her as he kissed her for he owned her more than that. She was far from the person that she'd been when they met, and it showed when she returned the kiss. Detachment had always seemed like the best way to avoid losing anyone else, and yet now, it was the last thing she wanted when she kept him closer to her. Months apart had proven that being alone wasn't what she truly wanted, and that even a few years of peace spent together was better than losing him for good as she had thought before. "Just wait until morning. You'll hardly find a better view, I believe," she smirked. While it was true that the camp had the best view she had presently seen, it evoked memories of those who had the unfortunate chance to find the outpost below before she did. Letting him go, she moved to help get set for the night as the soft glow of the sun was already beginning to disappear. "A scouting party found this place before I did, though there wasn't much left by the time I found them. Most were already dead, taken out by the sickness." Crouching down by the small, circular makeshift fire pit, Evanna could remember the faces of the men, the cries for help that she couldn't offer after many had fallen victim to the hallucinations. "At first I thought... I spent hours looking at the faces of the dead to hope that you weren't among them."

Crouching down by the small, circular makeshift fire pit, Evanna could remember the faces of the men, the cries for help that she couldn't offer after many had fallen victim to the hallucinations. "At first I thought...I spent hours looking at the faces of the dead to hope that you weren't among them." Their relationship has always been different than the rest with less attachments and reliability that the other person was safe. Finally breaking away from the kiss, Jonathan knew there was a change and it was Kobol. The uncertainty of this place changed them both. While she spent scouting, he spent protecting and surviving in the harsh Site B with researchers who were exploring the site. He had been attacked by panthers who left scars on his ribs and taught him a hard lesson. Unpacking the tent, Jonathan unpacked the rope as his vest light came on to help him secure the tent and slowly the site with the bit of explosives but just behind them. Lack of tracks showed the animals didn't come here often but he was listening intently as he helped her with the fire pit. This was a side of Evia that he hadn't seen before and he knew that event had eaten her up; "It took them a while to send the medicine to use but we fought against the hallucinations. We sent a big fish to the Specialist thinking it was something else," igniting the wood before turning back to her, "Kobol left her mark on me," lift his shirt and jacket to reveal his old injuries on his ribs, "got too overconfident and panther got me at night then dragged me across the ground before I finally got my blade," lowering his shirt as he unbuttoned his jacket. Unpacking his gear, he laid out jerky he had since Site B but also set his gear aside; "I found the better view a long time ago though it was far from that star," smiling but deep down knew this is where he belonged.

Their relationship has always been different than the rest with less attachments and reliability that the other person was safe. With the tent set up and the rest of the small camp secured, she had no fear that they would be found all the way out there, even with the glow of the fire. Slipping out of her jacket, Evanna tossed it onto the top of her pack, eyes widening slightly while she peered over the scars on his body, fingers delicately reaching out to move over the marks. She’d heard people talk about the wildlife, and how unforgiving it had been to most who ventured out too far. It was sheer luck that she hadn’t fallen sick and suffered the hallucinations like so many others, or become some hungry animal’s prey. In truth, her fight had been against other scouts who were out of their minds, and the scars she bared served as a reminder of how wild and untamed this place truly was. “Kobol hasn’t been too kind to either of us, it seems. Perhaps it’ll be easier now,” she smiled, taking a seat near the crackling fire. They had been lucky enough to find each other still alive, and despite the uncertainty of the future, being here only mattered if he was here too. Terra was their home, though it held more bad memories that good for her; the time spent with Jonathan was among the memories that helped block out the bad. With Terra gone, maybe this was finally the chance to let the past go with it. Turning back to him, she felt a smirk tugging at her lips. “Actually, I think I have the best view now. One that I would rather not go without.”
