The raptors started pouring in which indicated that they could move on in the next few days and also that these were friendlies. Tapping his earpiece, he answered the pilot as they set off orange smoke; "We have yet to build a control tower but you are cleared for landing. I suggest staying away from the trees...we had a bad experience."
Hearing the truck being started, the sun was just beginning to crest the hills which sent a long shadow over the valley.

Tapping his earpiece, he answered the pilot as they set off orange smoke; "We have yet to build a control tower but you are cleared for landing. I suggest staying away from the trees...we had a bad experience." Hearing the truck being started, the sun was just beginning to crest the hills which sent a long shadow over the valley. Marla had been in bumpy rides before but this one took the proverbial cake. Everyone and everything was being tossed around. The 2nd seat up front was bent over, trying not to vomit all over the cockpit. Marla managed to unstrap herself and get a hold of the young woman. Getting her out of the seat, she moved her to the rear where someone grabbed her. Climbing into the cockpit, Marla grabbed the comm and replied to the surface. "Kobol, Raptor five five five, copy that. I don't think trees are our biggest worry right now, we've hit some major turbulence and we just might be coming in a little hotter than we or you would like. Suggest you clear the area, over."About that moment, one of the larger shuttles went flying past them, upside down. Marla looked at the pilot, both of them their eyes as wide as saucers. Suddenly, the shuttle righted itself and went into a slow descent, making a very controlled landing within the marked area. The pilot was able to go into a slight dive and escape the turbulent air, bringing the raptor into a more controlled descent. Within seconds, they too had landed on the surface. Within a few minutes, the remainder of not only their group but the other groups were landing all along the clearing. Marla breathed a sigh of relief, unbuckling herself and climbing out of the cockpit and into the rear of the raptor. The co-pilot was busy trying to clean herself up. When the hatch opened, the passengers got out as fast as they could, almost all of them vomiting once they were clear of the raptor. Marla looked around for someone from the surface team. Spotting a man, she walked over to him. She recognized him from his file photo. Striding up to him and making certain to keep her hand away from her sidearm, she extended her left hand outward. "Hello, I'm Marla Johannsen and you're Victor Smith, call sign Sidewinder. I recognized you from your photo."Turning to the others behind her, she returned her gaze to Victor. "We have engineers, botanists and a wide assortment of skilled personnel. The others are still in orbit, waiting to find out where else they are to land here on the planet since the idea is to not bunch us all together, you know, so we don't make one nice target in case the Cylons show up. We have a little bit of everything but importantly, we have building materials, so, where do you want us and who is in overall command here?"

Dropping the tail gate as he watched the raptors danced in mid-air though he remember his drop in was a lot less eventful. Spotting Maria, they were hoping for more time after all scouting parties were everywhere trying to access locations for colonists but this was the starting point. Crossing his arms, Victor turned to her as he thought about it; "You guys arrived ahead a lot earlier than we expected. Right now, it's this and the city on the coast since archeological teams arrived first and still surveying ruins with medical teams ensuring those ruins won't hurt us."
Sitting on the tailgate as he noticed that the Jeep was gone, holding onto the rifle as he pulled out his earpiece; "Concordia is 75 miles west and still being surveyed."

Marla stood there listening to Victor but also to her earpiece. She smiled politely at the man but was getting somewhat nervous from the chatter in her ear. Tapping it to turn it off, she replied to Victor.
"Excellent, how about the rest of the planet? We have too much stuff to set it down in one place. The plan was to spread it around. You know, eventually, MILLIONS of people are going to be calling this place home and well, the powers that be back on Terra are hoping there will be housing and crops and all the stuff a society needs in place when they arrive."
Marla was trying to ignore the beeps from her earpiece, even though it was off. Something was up and she didn't want this guy to be alerted to it. Finally, she could take no more. Looking at Victor, she apologized.
"Excuse me, please, I have to take this."
Stepping a few meters away, she tapped the earpiece and moved the comm closer to her mouth.
"I sure hope this is important, What's going on up there?"
A voice came over her comm.
"This is Leftenant Gorla, we have a reactor emergency and need to disembark everyone from the Hilda, immediately. Raptors, shuttles and cargo craft are on their way to your position. Once we have the situation contained, we'll let you know. As a safety precaution, all other ships are moving away from our position, over."
"Copy that, I'll let the people down here know, out."
Stepping back to Victor, Marla told him the situation.
"There's an issue with one of the reactors on the Hilda. She's an older freighter but she was overhauled months before this trip. They're sending everyone down now, all the supplies and equipment she was carrying so it looks as if about three hundred million tonnes of supplies and gear along with four thousand people are on their way."

Peering at Maria, he pulled out his near useless tactical pad; "There has been a group here almost a year who has been building a city around the old forum which I'm sure they could use help," sliding the map up to Concordia, "that's north of our position. You can start landing there but it's not going to be a cake walk. We speculate there are more ruins on this side of the planet than the other side." All the pictures and maps that they had were from the raptor ride and satellite images which had the grid layout. Unloading a crate of weapons from the truck, he knew they would need this more than them; "Stay clear of some of the pollen it has nasty effects, we did see some big cats and the river is a few miles from here don't venture alone."

FOREST
Dreaming of being in paradise aka back in bed staring at Sam, she edged closer to him and began licking him...ok this was different. Waking up, he was face to face with a rare white leopard; longer than his height. He had no reason to kill this beast but he needed a guide for this planet and maybe a way off. Placing his hand on the leopard, the cat had probably never seen a human yet overnight it's manage to befriend a broken one out of all things. Pulling out his belt, he made a makeshift collar before slowly getting up from his tree which he slept on.
Jumping down to the forest floor, the leopard rubbed against his leg as they walked; "Going have to think of a name for you," starting his walk west with the leopard beside him.

The churning in her stomach only intensified when the Raptor came out of its final jump, into the upper atmosphere of Kobol. Or that was where she had hoped they were,as soon after, a pair of supply Raptors followed. Sam had always hated flying in those things, but this time had been particularly excruciating, and she knew she wasn’t the only one feeling it. The marines who sat opposite her were already squirming in their seats, everyone eager to land and get to work. She was there for more than just that, but the prospect of scouting a possible home was easing her mind. That was until the ship began to shake, engines stalled, and they were all in a free fall.
She wanted to kill the pilot herself when she heard the man’s chuckle from the front of the ship before they regained the engines and the craft steadied in the air. ”Find us a landing place, preferably before you crash the gods damned ship.” From what they knew so far, there were already several active sites that they would have to contact once they were on the ground and set up. The Raptors slowed its approach until they were feet from the ground, setting down in a clearing not too far from a shallow river and the edge of a lush forest.
She nearly snorted from laughter as the marines scrambled around the cabin of the ship, managing to pop open the hatch before they all filed out. Sam followed behind, standing on the wing to take in the fresh air. Her body ached from the long journey, but it didn’t matter. She was mesmerized at the sight of Kobol, as were the others, who had already begun unloading supplies. ”Get started on camp, we’ll worry about contacting the others once we’ve had a chance to catch our breath. Daniels, Barry, you’re with me. Let’s go take a quick look around, shall we.”

FOREST
Watching while the leopard killed a rabbit, Michael ate his soup MRE, he had a name set aside for his furry friend while another sonic boom echoed down. From the patches of radio traffic, people were arriving to settle...maybe he could start scouting ahead. Pulling up his tactical pad, shots from space showed heavy ruins west of here and he could stumble upon something good.
Tossing the empty MRE aside, he patted the side of his leg for 'Snowy' to follow; yes, terrible at names but it fit. Putting his cap on backwards with his sunglasses on his face, his dog tags rubbed against his chest as he walked; knowing this was his only identification on this planet.

CONCORDIA
Getting advance warning from Samuel, he had roped off the ruins till they could evaluate them especially since New Amsterdam suggested potential advance tech inside. Peering down his scope as raptors started landing with pre-fabricated housing as well modular homes; he noticed the drone he directed earlier had crashed on the island. Any photos from this area would be extremely important since General Thrax believed that this area is where the original tribes evacuated.
Stripping out of his gear, he packed a knife to be safe before starting out into the frigid waters...they were far from the mountains yet this water was freezing. SF training had taught him and his body how to react to the cold waters; starting to dive to avoid the waves. Peering down, he could see debris in perfect condition which meant this is freshwater which is quite useful but also meant calling Caprica later for an excavation teams.
Reaching the island, he rushed out of the water to make a fire as well as exercising to get his blood flowing with his body shutting down. Hearing movement, he was too tired to pull out his knife...

OUTSIDE OF CONCORDIA
Spending two hours getting the Jeep free, it was nice to take the return trip in comfort since it was mucky getting here but he too noticed the drone going down. Signaling John to head over to that patch of land connecting to the island as they picked up speed and noticed Tom swimming. Opening the sun roof, Johnathan climbed and connected to roof rack as they started over the small patch before hearing a massive crack imploding and the land behind them fell into ancient pipes.
Driving faster, the pipes under the land began to collapse till they made it to the island unsure of how to get off. Racing over to a frozen Tom, John was working on the fire while he worked on reviving him.

Starting the fire, he helped roll Tom closer to it after Johnathan stabilized the man but those photos from the drone would help with colonization efforts. Beginning the 20Tb download, he noticed fuzzy pictures of the lake region and even showed Johnathan; "Active jammer? I mean we have something similar back home." There was no question that this island was different after all they drove on ancient steel pipes and even the General could see it.

"Active jammer for sure," starting to walk around the small island, dragging his feet before getting caught up on a hatch. Digging around the hatch, Johnathan lifted it up to find a ladder though being as old as it; that would be an unsafe climb. It seemed like both he and John had the same idea, lowering the tow cable down with them on it. The walls were that of stone and steel but there were leaks which meant this place wouldn't be here for too much longer. Flipping on video mode on they're sunglasses and turning on the vest lights, the room opened up and right away they knew this was something left behind from the 13th tribe. Is this the reason they left?

Keeping his hand on his pistol, they climbed down to see most of the consoles were off but they could pull the hard drives or even entire towers. From what they do know, each tribe was at a different level of technology and none of them were in perfect cooperation but after the 13th tribe left...everyone left. 13th tribe was quite shady and whatever they did here most likely led to the Exodus. Reviewing over a clipboard, some of the words he could read while others were simply lost; "Evacuate. Something about project success but disapproved by other tribes," was the 13th tribe undergoing illegal research?

Recording everything, Johnathan noticed pins setup in a pattern that he remembered from school; "That's the basic DNA pattern...were they growing something?" Moving on to a sealed door, he removed the panel to open the door manually as the two sides rolled open to reveal a lab filled with pods. Pulling out glow sticks, they soon lit up the room to reveal the secret that caused the 13th tribe to leave...them. The tubes were filled with humans and even the genetic pattern matched Terrans...the Gondawans made humans that were more resilient than Colonials and the tribes didn't want to play the roles of gods. So they left, founded Terra and to they're surprise, Terrans were more aggressive than them so they overthrew them. So this was where they're HISTORY started...this room...this lab...this frakkin PLANET. Where do they go from here?

So this was where they're HISTORY started...this room...this lab...this frakkin PLANET. Where do they go from here? Looking over at Johnathan's blank look, the man had reached the end...but this was the beginning. If Terrans started here then it was time to back up that theory with evidence that was left behind. Pulling out his pistol, he fired into the lower glass of one of the tubes which caused the tank to shatter. Dropping his pack, he pulled out the vacuum sealed body bag to play the cold dead subject inside as began sealing the bag. Emptying his bag, he poured all the vital papers, scrolls and anything else into the bag before closing it up; there was so much to explore. Dragging it out to the fully awake Tom who climbed down, marking everything for urgency; "Get all this in the Jeep and we'll work on getting it to New Amsterdam for analysis." This place was important. There could be dozens of Gondawan bunkers on Kobol but to know that they were attempting to improve they're entire species thus creating the exodus...this place is now the most important spot on Kobol. Taking a second, he needed to know if the place had more leaks before they commit to this find.
