As swarms of raiders tore into the Terran fleet, those that were able to witness the fireworks show were amazed to see over a dozen basestars being hit simultaneously by missiles that seemed to come out of nowhere.
Having been given this reprise from the battle, the commanders of the remaining terran ships re-positioned their ships to minimize the damage they were still receiving at the hands of the thousands of raiders.
The terran ship Freedom and the colonial battlecarrier Pacifica were faring much better against the basestars, both ships having beaten back two basestars each. This was providing the forces on the surface some respite from the assault on the planet, the two massive ships having taken out hundreds of troop transports. Still, the damage caused by the basestars was still significant. The Pacifica had one of her five engines out and was reporting fires in that section of engineering that were threatening to spread. The Freedom had one of its launch/landing bays damaged beyond use and it was hampering her ability to re-arm and re-fuel her fighters quickly enough.
If only those battlestars would return.....

On board the Battlecruiser Magellan
As Commander Kyle Pox, Terran Defense Forces (npc)
Commander Kyle Pox watched as missiles slammed into the Cylon fleet. Over a dozen were hit and still they were slamming the Terran Fleet. With the Copernicus destroyed, his was the only capital ship currently defending the planet. It didn't matter that there was the colonial battlecarrier Pacifica on the far side of the planet, engaged with two basestars, or that the Terran battleship Freedom was also engaged with her own basestars.
The Magellan, along with the Gunstars Warhawk, Falcon, Cepheus Bellona, Clotho, Circe, and Pollux were fighting for their very lives. Already the Circe and Bellona were so ablaze that the two ships appeared as orange balls in space. The Commander looked at the DRADIS officer.
"Lieutenant, what's it look like out there?"
"Sir, there are still fifteen to eighteen basestars, thousands of raiders. We're spread too thin Sir and the squadrons are being tore apart. Already, several hundred planes from the surface have been sent up and the CAP above the cities is pretty much gone."
Looking at the XO, Commander Pox gave the order to fall back even further away from the basestars.
"Colonel Jabo, pull us back 1500 more meters. We need some breathing space. Get very bird that can fly up and out of the tubes. I don't care if it can shoot, as long as it can fly, it can buy us some time."
Colonel Jabo nodded when the DRADIS officer yelled out.
"SIRS! The Circe and Bellona have both just exploded!"

As Flight Captain Jillian Magoo, Terran Defense Forces (npc)
Flying towards the Magellan to re-fuel and re-arm, Flight Captain Magoo suddenly watches in horror as the gunstars Circe and Bellona both explode, having been hit by hundreds of raiders. Keying her mic, she sends out a message that will almost immediately alter the course of the battle.
"Terran Control, this is Python Six Omega Three, be advised that gunstars Circe and Bellona are dead, say again, Circe and Bellona are dead. Am out of ammo and unable to return to home ship, am bugging out for the surface. Gods have mercy on us all, out."

"Spooling up FTL"
*Once 100% we then jump as a space time window opens before the us, sec's later were sucked in closing behind us. Anther space time window opens spitting the Atlantis out right beside Battlestar Leonides above.*
"Set Conduction One throughout the ship, launch all Vipers and Raptors and fire The cannons on those basestar's"

Noticing the Battlestars returning especially the Atlantia, Alex turned to his Centurions as he had them target the ship; "Disable the Atlantia and do it now!" This was his time to seek revenge as every nuke, every missile and cannon turn on the Atlantia with their deadly raiders turning and focusing attention on the single Battlestar. Keeping the other Basestars on the fleet, he knew with the Atlantia silenced that the rest of the fleet would be soon to follow.

Instead of firing off the highly powered nukes, the missiles jammed as the timers winded down till the nukes exploded in the satellites. Massive shockwaves could be seen as it sent a signal to the other satellites to burn out, leaving Terra now blind and defenseless if the fleet can't defeat the Cylon fleet.

*Keeping the Atlantia on course not letting up on the engines. The Battleship makes a V Line for the 106, vipers soon then poor out in waves after waves. Rotating all forward canon's into position, as the begin to fire.
The Atlantia picking up speed as the collusion warnings sound. Just barely we veer up to the right, just scratching the new paint. Just as the ship turns into the Star all batteries fired. Covering the hull in Ragnarök mines as they secure themselves to the hull plating. Some mines find themselves into the landing bay taking out heavy raiders and Cylons. Leaving a dint in the basestar as we move away, knowing the fleet is right behind.*

The rest of the Colonial fleet jump in one bye one as they being to fire. Having time and help nearly all the ship have been repaired and upgraded with the time away. All weapons locked and and firing at Basestar's with 3 ships helping out Atlantia, unloading there fire just bombarding the 106. All 4 Colonial ship with vipers in the air beating back the raider's in a much old formation, Staying in line wing tip to wing tip. Plowing the space with ship parts, the battlestar missiles firing off head to the 106. Impacting the hull in one area as it weakness. Guns and canons lighting the the darkness of space with this last stand above Terra.

Glad to see the Colonial fleet showing, the Terran Fighter's 818 and 278 Barracuda's Join the Vipers closing the gap in a line formation staked 3 high. Like the civil war all over again plowing them down from a far then clashing into battle of the titans.

::Message from Terran Intelligence::
Disable 106 do not destroy, preparing a team to scavenge vital intelligence from the 106, destroying it would destroy the mission and put everyone and everything at risk. Team will be marked in several captured enemy heavy raiders, do not fire on them or risk killing friendlies.
::End of Message::

Ordering the rest of the Basestars to cover, the 106 fired off her full line of missiles into the Atlantia just after they dented up her hull. Suddenly, the Basestar went quiet heading away from the battle and into a low orbit as the ship attempted to repair, knowing if they kept going all out that they would lose one hell of a star altogether.
Keeping the raiders on the Vipers, the raiders started tearing through the Atlantia's vipers as they fired their nukes onto her hull.

*The three Battlestar's with the Atlantia moves down into Orbit. Firing all into the 106. Reaching over setting off the mines as they blow one by one ripping through two of the star's wings. The mine that made it inside burst releasing Ragnarök gas infecting the raider's as it works it's way into the air throughout the passageways.
The Atlantia's spread out heading to sickbay for the inures. Pacing the CIC with Mason, staying in touch with the three Star's planing out hit's and routes attacking the 106 as we not let up.*

Following the pair of heavy raiders up, pilots began firing on them to add in their cover as they finally departed them as they reached the 106; knowing that they were on their own now.
