Smiling a wide grin, Phineas waited for the comm link to come to life. Seconds later, he could hear the sound of dead airwaves, then a sfot voice informing him he was ready to go. Sitting at his desk, which was covered with dust and debris, Phineas began speaking.
"My fellow citizens, this is President Doral. I am happy to announce that I have returned to my office and am currently preparing to oversee the defense of the planet and the impending assault on the invading Cylons. I know many of you have wondered where I have been and I apologize for leaving. My departure from the government center here in the capital was necessary, so as to lure the cylons into believing we were on the run. That is not and was not the case. We are very much here, Terran and Colonial, soldier and citizen. Together, we will wipe the cylons clear from this planet, our home. Tragedy has once again been brought to not only us but to our Terran brothers and sisters. Most of our civilian ships and quite a few of our military ships have taken the necessary precautions and have jumped away. Soon, they will return to us. I ask that anyone who hears this message and is near the city of Sparta to go there now and assist in the recovery efforts. Many have died there and many more are wounded. For now, please know that our gallant military is not only fighting the cylons but beating them back. We will win this fight and we will win it as one. May the gods shine their blessings down upon us, So Say We All!"

As Flight Captain Gina Hovath, Terran Fleet (npc)
Gina came around to take aim at a group of raiders when she noticed that a larger group had managed to slip past them, heading straight towards the planets surface. Keying her mic, she called out to anyone that might be listening.
"Terran Control, Python Six Delta Niner, Captain Hovath here, you got bogeys ehading to the surface, heading puts them in lline for Sparta or what's left of it. I've got my hands full here so you better divert some planes that way, out."

Forming a defensive line against the Cylon basestars, the Battlecruisers Copernicus and Magellan, along with the Gunstars Warhawk, Falcon, Cepheus, Bellona, Clotho, Circe and Pollux begain firing their point defense guns and launching their squadrons.
Almost immediately, the basestars begain sending missiles streaking towards the Terran Fleet. The firing solutions of all those ships managed to keep very missile and raider from striking the fleet.
As Fleet Captain Morgan Hataki, Terran Defense Forces (NPC) On board the Battlecruiser Copernicus
"Comm, inform all ships, extend the line outwards, set distance ten thousand meters each ship. We gotta make certain no troop transports get through."
The comm officer, a young ensign from Sparta nodded.
"All ships, set distance between ship at ten thousand meters. Concentrate on all troop transports, this is Copernicus out."
Suddenly, the DRADIS officer yelled out.
"Captain! We have incoming missiles, radiation alarms are active. They've managed to come in under us Sir, time to impact is fifteen seconds. We've got nobody close enough to stop them and our guns cannot depress that far."
Captain Hataki grabbed the intercom and alerted the crew.
"All hands, brace for impact of missiles. Close all airtight hatches. All hands, make way to the nearest safe area, CIC out."
Looking at the CIC crew, he spoke softer.
"All right kids, brace for impact."
Five seconds later, two missiles struck the underside of the Copernicus, slicing inward and detonating their nuclear warheads. Almost immediately, the aging ship lurched upward in a bucking motion, sending almost the entire crew crashing into bulkheads or to the deck. Equipment went flying everywhere and fires broke out almost the entire length of the ship's underbelly and extending five deck levels upwards.

As Senior Chief June Garo, Terran Defense Forces (NPC)
On Board the Battlecruiser Copernicus, Engineering Section
Grabbing the wall phone Senior Chief Garo called to the CIC.
"CIC, this is Chief Garo, we've got fires all over the place, structural damage extending the length of the ship and we are seriously venting atmosphere. We are cut off but are stable, will keep the old girl going for as long as we can. Need more dc parties forward of bulkhead 27, from decks 23 to 28. Local control of airtight hatches remains past bulkhead 88. Engineering, out."
Placing the phone back in its cradle, the Chief looked at her people.
"We're gonna be on our own for a bit. Our officers are dead, as are most of our dc people but you've all been trained on this. This is where it counts now. We need to re-route and re-wire, so let's get busy. I want five of you at bulkhead 88, with five each all the way to the bottom of the ship along that bulkhead. Our eva gear is still with us back here, so as soon as we can, we'll send people out to survey the damage. Now get cracking people! We got a ship to save."
Watching as everyone rushed to their stations, June hoped they could save the ship. Of course, there was always the good chance of more missiles hitting the ship.

As Fleet Captain Morgan Hataki, Terran Defense Forces (NPC)On board the Battlecruiser CopernicusHaving spoken to Senior Chief Garo, Captain Hataki looked at the DC console. Fires were consuming the entire lower decks of the ship and were threatening to enter the decks housing quarters, galley, medical, and more importantly, the central computer area. He knew of they didn't do something and do it fast, the whole ship would be lost. Turning to the XO, he gave the order to seal off those areas where there fires and to open all exhaust vents. "XO, seal off all areas of the ship engulfed with fire. Vent those spaces. Alert all personnel to either get their asses into their gear or get clear of those spaces. Nav, get us out of the fight adn pull us back behind those gunstars." The XO nodded and grabbed the phone, putting the call to the entire ship. The Navigation Officer turned to the helmsman who began turning the ship to the starboard. At that very moment, a single raider came through the ships firing solution, launching a spread of five small nukes, each missile slamming into the ship as it made its turn. The resulting explosions were anything less than spectacular.

Moving the Basestar out from behind the moon as a few more jumped in to reinforce the 106. Placing his hands in the stream, Alex soon armed all the nukes as he ordered all ships to begin tearing the Terran fleet and hopefully the soon arriving Battlestars. Letting the Centurions taking over, he soon ordered all raiders and heavy raiders to launch to take on Terra's vipers and inflict more nuclear damage.

Watching as the Battlescruiser Copernicus exploded, the commanders of the Terran gunstars and the remaining battlecruiser could only sit helplessly. Fortunately, they didn't have to sit long as more Cylon basestars began jumping into their space. They were already taking a beating and it was only going to get worse.

The satellites, a few that appeared to be spy satellites, turned around to face the fleet as the dishes floated off to allow the sides of the satellites to open up to reveal their deadly payload. Nukes lined the sides and middle, all built as a secondary measure now used as a primary measure; most around 300 kilo tons to 500 kilo tons and a few well placed ones could send the Atlantia to her watery grave...all pointed at the Cylon fleet and ready to go live.

A few warheads popped out of the satellites as the others move back for a secondary launch, glowing a dark red as the warheads became active while the Terran Intelligence men selected targets. Finally having the computer remove the safeties, the missiles fired away as the nukes came free racing towards their Cylon Basestar targets.

Noticing the radiological alarms going off as unknown nukes emerged out of nowhere, Alex raced to turn the ship behind one of their escorts as the nukes impacted other Basestars. Turning to his Centurions, he nodded as they fired away their nukes on the Terran fleet before watching almost 15 of their Basestars explode from the highly explosive nukes.
