Climbing out of the Jeep, Liam had been all over the Colonies but this was something else like the gods had been hiding this place. The only reference point he had was the fields on Tauron when he was a young child but even that didn't seem to fit. Turning to Victor, he knew any barrack needed planning and time to build which meant it was another night in the tents. Pulling out a hatchet, he noticed that the Specialists were unloading the truck, he focused on making a small fire for the night. Once the network and radio was online, they would be able to connect with the satellite in orbit...but for now they can relax. He was skeptical about this deal about the Terrans having Kobol but with the restoration of the forum and now this massive area of land well he could see them surviving. Terrans have always been resilient in they're resolve and he knew Jack was smart for planning ahead. Listening to the Specialists, he turned to his team as he began unpacking the tents from the back; "Take the Jeep back to where we came and load it up with bricks," glancing at the truck, "take the truck as well. The ruins are nice but we need to level the ground to expand the size of this base so they don't have to do it later." Watching them scurry off, Daniel grabbed an axe before turning to the Specialists; "We need to make pylons since the base will be over the river."

The base here would well establish the HDF as well as the Marines in this region as well as protect the new network which Terra and the Colonies are built on. Climbing into the Jeep, she noticed the truck falling in behind them which Oliver laid down the seats to hold more bricks. The ruins have endured a few thousand years of weathering and even mother nature which meant they were well built so they could handle being built on.
Driving into the forest, she went to the temple since the walls as well as the columns could be smoothed down to transfer these stones from decorative to load bearing.

Driving over to one side of the temple, he parked in such a way that he could slide bricks into the back of the truck. Dropping the tail gate, he focused on pushing the large blocks but removing the fallen columns exposed crushed skeletons which could've been the monks that worshipped this place. Careful not to disturb the bones, this could've been a single conflict to a larger conflict which led to the exodus.
The bricks and columns began to weigh the truck down as he closed the back to see the Jeep lowered to two feet off the ground. Slowly heading back, he knew this was only stage one since there was still more to the foundation.

Unpacking a crate, he pulled out of stacks of torches with rebar eye holes in which rope could be weaved through for safety till the pylons are placed. Glancing back at James who was sharpening the pylons while Samuel and Daniel finished a primitive crane to drop and secure the pylons against the current. Displacing stones and pebbles to deflect the water and created even pockets so the securing process won't be difficult.
This process is pretty basic and taught to all SFs during the education period. First used around Sparta, SFs could control the water ways around the city and have flat land to which a base could also have air abilities but none were made of wood.
Even designing on the tactical pad, this base would take years before it's completed but provide a defense for the western regions.

Setting up the crane as well as a simple pullie system so they could get to the opposite bank but tonight they had to plant 20 pylons. Glancing over at James who was testing the radio, music started coming out of a nearby speaker and soon they could hear the speech from Terra...a speech much different than the Generals'. This speech was one of concern but it now meant that pressure was put directly upon them but they already had pressure. That speech meant this went from a HDF operation to now a Terra full scale operation...maybe more resources but this meant they're ops here would be extended.
The first pylon was sharpened at the bottom as well as two hundred feet tall which meant 50-75 feet were going to be underground and supporting the structure above. Lifting the pylon into the rail system to keep it on target, most of the stones were removed to reveal wet soil before dropping the pylon over fifty feet. Sinking into the mud, both he and Daniel began hammering the pylon to the correct depth as it lined up with the laser. While they moved to reposition, James loaded up the next pylon while Victor covered up the hole and ensured water wouldn't damage the pylons.

Placing rollers and sliders onto the pylon, he placed the eye holes on so he could connect the rope to be lifted. It took the four of them to cut down over 150 trees in two hours and some explosives as well as cut them down to bare pylons with no branches. The branches were an extended task of cutting them bare to be stacked up to make several burn piles encase the radio ever went down then this could travel miles...early alert system.
Transferring this signal out over 200 miles, this would tell the other teams that Site One is online before privately checking the frequencies for anything at this point.

Hearing news from home, he knew Terrans now knew the enemy wasn't the Cylons but the gods who planned for them to leave paradise. Tapping his earpiece, he connected his tactical pad to the radio tower and switched to long range Colonial frequencies. Sending an official request to Picon and Scorpia, he knew military engineers could speed up the work and even setup defenses along the exterior of the site.
MESSAGE RECIEVED. The engineers gave him an ETA of a month since moving the supplies meant using the old Terran Cruiser and then the travel time since they were much closer. Tucking his tactical pad away, he spotted the overweighted vehicles cresting a hill as they made they're way over to the well lit camp.

Driving to the camp, music came over the coms which meant they had connected to the channels back home but they were focused on this structure. He had seen it before but not of wood but steel and stone. He had seen pictures of Terran fortifications and this was a design that meant they were staying even more endure Kobol. Unloading the stones, he knew that these would be split and shaved down to be used to create either buildings or even groundwork.
Having a high calorie MRE, he refueled the truck before heading back to the temple to gather more stones maybe even find any artifacts. Driving and parking in the same spot as before, he noticed something shiny on the ground only to pick it up. It was a tablet, primitive, the glass was long gone but this had an emblem he's never seen before.
The 13th tribe possibly but could this have been the cause of war? One tribe far more advance than the others could cause conflict. The Terrans first encounter with the primitive Colonials they were at odds with one another just cause of technology alone.

Stabbing 4 knives into either side of the tree, Bones created a brace before strapping himself in as the rain and wind rushed over. He had done this once before on Terra during the war and held a spot for three days before reinforcements arrived. Placing his ball cap on his head, Bones was shielded from the storm as he noticed that the Jeeps were getting battered...yet he remained. The host, Michael, was strapped to the other side of the tree as the storm raged and this bothered Bones. Bones was pure soldier. Bones is essentially an evolved A.I that no longer had a human counterpart. Pain, hunger and power of nature is not just new to him but an enemy which seemed to be fighting against him...and then there was Michael. The human who was broken from war but also love...interesting concept which prevented him from coming here. For 23 years, Bones had been joined with Michael yet hated his counterpart since he didn't do or want anything that Bones was made for. The storm raged hard for an hour and there was a few times it had lifted the Jeep but afterwards the grassland had knee high water and looked Bones was asleep. Waking the man, he noticed a chain embedded into his ring finger which could mean this is the Michael personality coming through. Romo listened to Daniel on Scorpia after the Terran Civil War. Harperson created essentially split personality soldiers who made up for they're combat experience by having experimental AIs yet even now he's gone too far. Waking the man, he knew Bones was going to be as splintered as always but until they got to they're destination they had to follow him.

In a dream state, Michael pulled the both of them into the last memory of his penthouse as life continued around them. Sam and Aurora were playing in the living room with himself and Bones standing in the study. Michael could never imagine that he would be sitting down with HIM. Taking a deep breath, this is the life he imagined and yet Bones frakked that up; "We need to work together otherwise one of us is going to die."
Laughing, Bones turned to Michael who was still weakened from PTSD as he spoke; "I know what your plans are and working together means me being co pilot..."
It was his body and here he was negating with the AI that he foolishly accepted all those years ago. Burying the PTSD, he spoke softly as he took control; "You track and I take control..."
Waking up, Michael got up as he noticed no pain for Bones was taking the brunt of that with a mere process of burning fats to heal him. Getting up, Michael noticed the holsters were once ones he wore on covert missions during the war when faced against Spartans. Turning to Romo as he headed to the truck, he climbed inside as he turned to Ashley; "Next time, don't summon Bones without telling me or I swear William is going to have to launch an op to find you."

Surprised, she could tell that Michael was pissed but she did what she had to otherwise this mission would be still in the no go phase. Turning to him as the drivers rolled out, she knew this threat would have to stay empty; "Do your job and after the fort, the first raptor will take you home," sitting back as the trucks moved through the water.
Hearing music over the radio, Site One is online and waiting for the settlers to make it here but she knew that all sites needed protection. Mini bases with them linked to the main fort...this is how they defend Kobol both short and long term.

It's been days of building and even more using all they're rope now they have a stable surface which even the vehicles can park on. In the nearby hill, he knew Samuel and Liam were working on barracks built into the hill which would be better than sleeping in the trucks.
Biting into a pear, he wondered if he'll ever see Terra again and wondered if Bones is here through volunteering or vol-told. Could Kobol actually support all of them and...he's been down this line of thinking before. Suddenly, a bing went off which meant Concorde had been established and that alone was good news. Rushing over to the new elevated radio tower, he tapped his earpiece as the truck was being readied; "London to Concorde, status update?"

Walking past the ruins, they setup base camp near the shore but even he was questionable since they've killed two large crocodiles after arriving. Watching as John setup the data core, they all received an update from London concerning safe plants and ruin danger with updates from home. Tapping his earpiece, Johnathon and John were preparing to back track for the Jeep; "We've got ruins and a lake that we'll be taming but it'll be some time till we have fresh water. Colonists will be here in a month so we'll transmit our location for your arrival." Pulling out his knife, he started carving the crocodile for food while laying down barriers against the tower for protection. Flipping on the fire, Concorde still needed to be explored and possibly start moving into the ruins for protection against the wildlife.

Refilling the backpack with MREs and a rope, Johnathan changed into waterproof BDUs as he prepared to leave with John to get the Jeep. It was loaded with important supplies and had could help them get to the island in the lake. He looked different with his beard yet his old SF training was coming through especially with little talking between them. Packing a long range radio, he picked up his rifle as he powered up his tactical pad and sunglasses.
Kobol can change the strongest will person into someone quiet and enduring. Maybe that is the ultimate secret, maybe the tribes were never really unified but alone in the darkness till one day they found other travelers in the darkness. Till 23 years ago, Terra has lived in darkness with warriors like him and others who are learning to adapt to the light. Sometimes even the best faulter...

Securing his backpack and additional hiking gear, John slipped on his tactical gear before starting the hike out of the area. They marked the path with glow sticks and Johnathan was really quiet but there was nothing to say especially since Kobol was draining the both of them. John had a beard as well and his hair was growing out which he had it in a ponytail though he hoped to cut it soon. This hiking reminded him of his training and old missions into the Hi'Dek territory which is a fancy word for rebels.
SFs were busy killing Taurons while his A NSOTOs were killing rebels...Terra has been a planet of war though maybe Kobol can be redeemed?
