Setting down a holo projector, John crossed his arms as he started the briefing; "After Tauron, we used the last bit of SF funding to build a communications hub on Kobol to maintain clear channels between home and the Colonies. The facility is miles wide, well protected and has a defense of a hundred men which consists of Terrans and soldiers from Picon. We had to specially design several quantum computers to run the facility and the facility is powered by geothermal energy. We carefully chose the location but three weeks ago, we lost communication with the facility till a few days ago when we detected a distress call. The Colonial HDF is focused on aiding us with satellites so we'll be taking care of this one on our own."
Flipping off the projector, he saw Samuel stretching as they jumped into view of Kobol; "Land us outside of the facility there should be a landing pad."

Listening to the briefing, James entered the atmosphere of the planet that all this shit started...Colonials and Gondawans yet they were here. Flying through the black clouds, lightning lit up the canopy as well as the landscape with rain poured in. Covering the canopy in rain, he held onto the stick as he polarized the windows to bring up UV screens so he could see the landing pad; lining up for a landing as lightning struck the rear section of the ship. Alarms rang out as the raptor lost power, transferring to the thrusters as they slid across the pad before powering down.
Grabbing a G36C from the wall, he grabbed a messenger bag as he strapped it on before noticing Samuel sliding open the hatch; water poured in to slowly fill the ship. He knew he would have to return after the rain to begin repairs but knew something was wrong due to the lack of chatter or even automated messages that was pretty standard.

Stepping out into the rain, the water poured into the raptor and through the grated catwalk noticing no lights on yet felt the vibrations of the powerplant was still online. The rain had already soaked through his clothes and it was raining too hard for him to effectively use his sunglasses as he flipped on the flashlight on his rifle. Taking point, he flipped on his glow sticks on his pack so the others could easily see him; giving off a yellow glow. Glancing down to see his tactical pad connect to the network as an audio log played through the headset:
Unknown Soldier 1:Wow. This place is better than what the Colonials say. Unknown Soldier 2: I don't know, to be honest, the Picon soldiers are quiet cautious. Saw them bringing in heavy turrets...good thing they're on our side. Unknown Soldier 1: General Thrax says we'll be here for 210 days before our replacements come in...maybe we can setup a poker game tonight? Unknown Soldier 3: Be careful, Colonel Marks hates gambling...a real hardass from the Navy.
Listening to the recording, Samuel saw that was recorded almost 9 months ago which meant some kind of message went out otherwise this place would be fully powered. What happened here?

John knew Colonel Marks, he was a NSOTO, as well as a mentor but had no idea that he was the CO for this facility. Turning on his green glow sticks, the catwalk showed no damage to indicate a battle and he knew whatever happened it had to be recent otherwise Jack would've sent Peacekeepers and not them. Approaching the main blast door, the console was well lit as he stepped into the cover, wiping wet dust off. This place would've been kept clean...standard protocol and Marks followed protocol to the fine point. Typing in his authorization code, the computer recognized him as it opened the door while he brought up the log; "According to the logs, no one left the facility in 8 months yet anyone would have seen that landing!"
The walls consisted of reinforced piping and titanium sheet metal to provide a defense but none of that had bullet damage so there was no indications of a battle. Pulling up atmospheric reports, no toxins or even trace compounds for a toxin so where did they go?

Walking through the door while keeping James in the middle as he noticed a Pyramid Court under them but it had been abandoned. Pyramid balls were all over the court with rifles lying on the benches as well as packs off to the side but yet no soldiers. Dropping a yellow flare to mark the location, the rain was starting to calm as they walked across the courtyard into one of the modular structures as the tactical pad suddenly went offline with a blank screen. Tapping the screen, he turned to John as he got nothing but static on the radio; "Either we're being actively jammed or something just disconnected us," feeling the vibration ending as the lights soon went out.
Reaching into his vest, he pulled out a small light to attach at the barrel of his rifle as he flipped it on; scanning the room till John told him to move forward. Disorientation is typically used by the SF's before ambushing the target...a tactic he was trained in and didn't plan on being on the receiving end. Whispering to John, he let James cover him as he forced open a door; "Any chance we hired any nut cases?"

Watching Samuel breach the door, this entire situation didn't feel right almost like the facility forced them to leave with everything left behind. All communication virtually cut off leaving them a window of thirty-six hours to re-establish contact before either Jack or his Colonial counterpart sends in the Peacekeepers. Answering Samuel as they moved into a massive unfinished room which would've been the lobby; "Everyone was vetted either by Terran or Colonial Generals even then the decision to choose Picon troops was difficult but many volunteered," hearing the door slamming shut behind them, "this site was chosen for the mountainous cover and it was believed this is where the Gondawans left all those centuries ago."
A voice came over the speaker but just like before this seemed to be recorded but it was a personal log from Colonel Marks: This place has it's beauty at times but I've never seen it rain this often. Jack gave me pretty basic plan for this assignment; get the facility built for wave 2. There is talk about repopulating Kobol but the Colonials are against it. Maybe they fear something might go wrong...
Population efforts were a joint operation yet it seemed there was corners being cut just to make it a real yet Jack had other plans.

Holstering his weapon, James did cargo runs during the construction phase and couldn't believe that Jack wanted to repopulate this place. Kobol was sacred to the Colonials and Cylons...it'd be like reclaiming a church for a rock concert. He was one of a dozen pilots doing long range cargo runs in the process of construction which seeing the place now was odd. Even while trying to land the raptor, he knew this place had to have aircraft since there was four massive communication satellite dishes on each side and even though the skylight they still had power. Flipping on the light on his vest, he turned to them as he pondered on all this; "So the computer recorded everything so do you think that the computer will tell us what happened?"

Leaping over the counter, the monitor was dead but the cables went into the floor as he went into his bag to pull out a small crowbar; Tired of this bullshit," starting to dig up the floor. Lifting up panels before reaching the middle which was surrounded by steel which he couldn't get through. Tossing the crowbar in anger, nobody knew that was there and the sad part is that this facility was built to be defendable against most enemies. Grabbing his rifle just as another audio recording started:
Engineer 1: So the specs look quite close to the early SF bases? Think the General misses home? Engineer 2: Well, the SF's did one thing right and made they're bases defendable even if the defenders were less than the attackers. Engineer 1: I'll put in a surplus order for steel and titanium. We can fabricate it at Site Two near the ruins. Engineer 2: (coughing) They don't call it the ruins just Site Two.
The recording ended and Samuel looked over at James, he knew those supplies help build this place; "I take it you know nothing about this Site Two," noticing that he shook his head no.

Working as they talked, John managed to boot up his tactical pad from a past save as he reviewed over the crash log. Apparently, a quantum computer managed to aggressively break the decryption protocols which forced the pad to shut down to protect the data. The only thing he could think of that would be that aggressive would be an A.I which is quite illegal. The Colonial/Terran Pact ensured no A.Is would be created but V.Is where acceptable till they gained dependence. All new generation tactical pad has a V.I assistant which helps them but this place had several V.Is with the quantum cores...did someone create an A.I?
Walking past them as he put his tactical pad back in the sleeve, wiping the dust off of the board as he spoke to them; "We've been upgraded to Search and Rescue. We look for anyone and get them out for answers as well as find Colonel Mark's logs maybe they'll contain answers."

Search gods damn Rescue. Letting his rifle hang, he switched to his pistol as he walked to the nearest door only to see that it was glass. Firing into the glass, the door shattered as he walked through the glass as the sprinklers started going off as he walked through the water. Forcing open each office door, they were empty and the screens were on standby but he noticed a green sensor bar in each room. Whispering to them, he pondered if that bar as well as the audio files are connected; "So let's say, the computer listened in and through some trauma happened so its playing back the files to make sense."
Shining the light down onto the floor, he noticed 3 colors on the floor as he began following the red line for it stood for the military.

Uploading the map to his tactical pad, the facility had multiple maps which they had the first layer which appeared to have quite a lot. Following Samuel, he noticed the detail which meant this was meant as less military and more civilian but the civilian population was next to nothing...or it was supposed to be. Stopping, he noticed a hologram running in what appeared to be a conference room; he walked inside to see tablets on standby as he swiped it on to see a simulation complete. Reloading the simulation, John noticed that it was focused around Terra with a time table of years...Jack had plans for Kobol cause he knew Terra was going to die but how?
Pulling up a file marked 'Operation Phoenix' which instilled the evacuation plan for Terran citizens to Kobol where they would be processed and sent to one of the 12 Colonies for habitation. This plan had this facility act as immigration as well and Site Two would be New Corinth which the last report from 3 months ago said foundation was complete and opera house restored.
Turning to them, he pieced the majority of it together; "Jack had plans for Kobol and survival was one of them. They were running simulations on Terra predicting her death and how long would it take to move billions here."

Walking over to John, James knew the trips would be insane and even then you would have to disclose why everyone is moving which meant mass panic. Looking over the plan, he entered his personal code to reveal a hidden file; "When the SFC fell, the HDF took over the responsibility for protecting the Gondawan vault where they're ships are stored. The ships might be old but they're up-to-date and even more are built to store hundreds of thousands of people," he knew Jack had plans for the original dozen cargo pilots to fly them.
Shaking his head, he couldn't believe this...any of it. Jack had plans for a year to come here! Kobol the birth place of the Colonies and the Gondawans even soon home to the Terrans. Suddenly, an audio file started between Marks and a Geologist:
Marks: We have a time table of two years but before we start, is it even worth it? Geologist: Kobol shows no signs of Nuclear damage even these ancient scrolls only say that they had a disagreement. Marks: When I hear disagreement I think of a fight and they obviously had space travel. Did your team find anything pointing to advance technology? Geologist: We believe any advance technology that old would be gone by now but every scroll mentions this Opera House so Site Two should be there. Marks: Thanks, I'll have the Engineering teams head there who knows they might find something we missed.
James knew about this location but still why leave this facility still online and even unlocked?

Listening to the audio file and looking over the last reports, Site Two had grand plans but why completely leave this place? The facility was obviously multitasked even the troops were multitasked but why the cloak and dagger. Noticing an item shining back, Samuel kneeled down to see a 3rd Generation tactical pad but it appeared to be actively pinged. Placing it beside his own, both were being pinged as he whispered to them as he set both tactical pads down; "So, let's say someone or something who hacked our tactical pads also hacked theirs in order to track they're movements."
Setting the tactical pad onto the table, he walked into the corridor to see the sprinklers stopping as he held his pistol; "As for Jack that doesn't surprise me but I'm going to head to the barracks."

Holy shit. Samuel saw something that they didn't think was possible and now the Search and Rescue quickly changed to getting this place operational again. Sadly enough, Samuel showed that he can handle himself after all Johnathan added Samuel to this OP to protect them. Samuel was the Assault Specialist here which meant he could take on multiple enemies which he did less than a year ago. Pulling up the schematics that was transmitted from orbit prior to landing, a master reset would make this place livable again but it would wipe away any and all logs from everyone.
Turning to James, he had slipped on his sunglasses as the map gave him a clear line; "If you find something important then take it but we're stopping till we get to that core."

Walking to the barracks, Samuel switched to his assault rifle for the area appeared to have bullet damage which meant a fight. Keeping aim down the barrel, he flipped a release switch on the receiver then began unscrewing the barrel as he lowered the rifle. Changing out the long barrel for a short barrel with a 3 1/2 inch square suppressor, screwing it on before closing the release clamp as started his slow tactical walk in. Walking past the racks, no dead bodies but he did notice stains as he scrapped up a bit to smell; the iron scent of blood. Sliding his knife back into his vest, he turned the corner into the showers as he noticed two dead soldiers. Watching where he stepped, the enemy could have used them for a trap after all he would...dirty tactic but effective.
They must've been dead for a while cause the blood pools are dry and decomposition has been in affect for a while. The rifles were empty but the sidearms had the Colonial standard single grenade launcher with a round pre-loaded. Gathering the micro rounds, he holstered the pistol onto the side of his vest before taking the dog tags after all there was a good chance none of them killed the enemy.
