Carlie was on the Bridge when she heard the message. She sighed, realizing that someone in the Colonial Fleet had forgotten to tell the Admiral that the Marauder and her group had returned from the Colonies a few months ago with a much different report.
Walking over to a viewing window, Carlie looked out to take a peek at her native planet. She wondered exactly when they were going to return.

The squawkbox sounded with the voice of Yogi. Clayton wondered what he'd done to damage the trust of the Colonial fleet, and sighed. He was a bit glad that he'd avoided whatever it was.
Listening to the descriptions of the Colonies, Dualla was more convinced that the way forward for him was with the Terrans. He also knew that there were trust issues among these people. They were humans, after all, and would have their own personal priorities, their own pettinesses. Frak, he had 'em as well!
He took a glance around the CIC and Carlie. Here, at least, her wardrobe wasn't being ruined by the humidity. Clayton wondered what was beyond that bit of vanity? She was Terran to the core, and he knew that she didn't have a high opinion of Colonials. Part of it was the Terran pride, but part of it was probably the fact that the Colonials had loosed upon the Universe the greatest scourge known in the Cylons. There was a lot of justification in the blame. That they'd agreed to discourse and cooperation with the Colonials spoke well of them. They knew that the Cylons were a common enemy, bent on the extinction of the species of Man.
Looking around more, Clayton wondered where Director Drexl was. This was a sound ship and a good one, but not anything that Drexl would be interested in. It had a few years on it, it was not the latest design. Drexl had been cranking out leading-edge designs for years. He probably considered Marauder a garbage scow.
The person that Clayton wanted most to speak with was the Captain. He wanted to know what Marcus's orders were for the rescuees, and what was next on the menu. He was sure that Judith knew all about what the agenda was, but the woman kept her cards close to her chest. If she wasn't an ally, Dualla would be watching his back with her even more than he did with James Drexl. The working relationship between them had not been clearly explained. Clayton was Senior Technical Advisor, but Drexl was Director. By the sound of it, Clayton was sure that he'd be answering to the Terran. That hadn't been spelled out, though. Judith had never broached the subject. Her focus had been to get them all together, then to get them all off-planet.
Not seeing Marcus, Clayton was beginning to become interested in the ship's interfaces to the computer. He would love to sit at a CAD station and start to sketch out his ideas. Pencil and paper might have to do. He missed the GalactiCAD he'd used for so many years. Whatever he ended up with eventually, he would likely customize it to the protocols and profiles he had built in the system that the Galactica had.

Jasmine stepped onto the bridge, looking around at the busy figures scurrying around like mice. She had been on plenty of Colonial ships and she recalled this particular design. Originally planned as a fast attack transport for Marines, it was found to be better suited to the transporting of both people and cargo, lots of it. She had never served on one but had seen enough of them in action from her days as a young Marine officer on Scorpia. She wanted to get with the Captain and thank him for providing space in the cargo bay for her and her Marines but more importantly, she wanted to find out when they would be returning to the planet. Looking around still for the man, her eyes came upon a familiar face, at least one she recognized. Colonel Clayton Dualla, formerly of the Colonial Fleet and now tied up with some Terran elite manufacturer named Drexl, a man who carefully walked the tight rope between being a patriot and a profiteer. With him, two Colonial Admirals and a certain Terran Judge, this should be an interesting trip. Walking over to Dualla, she extended her hand.
"Colonel Dualla, a pleasure to meet you. I'm Jasmine Yolander, I worked for General Castorious, who I have discovered is now a Colonel on board the Acheron. So, what do you make of all this mess? And have you by any chance seen the Captain?"

Clayton would have snapped into a salute, but Yolander offered her hand instead. The handskake was firm and brief.
"Mutual, Colonel Yolander. Castorius now a Colonel? Things have really changed since I retired from the Fleet." He'd read about Yolander. On Castorius's staff, she was a no-nonsense go-getter. "No, I haven't seen Captain Marcus. I was looking for him myself." Clayton not only wanted to observe naval protocol and present himself to the ship's master, he honestly wanted to see the ship from stem to stern. He also wanted to keep tabs on James Drexl. The Director would likely turn his nose at this ship, but the man was as practical as he was arrogant, and he could behave any way he wanted at any time. Drexl was, after all, still his charge and responsibility.

Joseph finally made his way to the Bridge, only to see there were still more unauthorized personnel there. Fuming, he started to yell at the two figures when he realized who they were. Adjusting his jacket, he walked up to them.
"Aaahh, Colonel Dualla, or is it Mr. Dualla? The President informed me that you are retired and now working with the Terrans on thech stuff. Welcome aboard our little scow."
Turning to the dark haired beauty standing next to Clayton, Joseph tried to be ultra-suave.
"And this has to be Colonel Yolander, no wait! General Yolander. I'm sure in all the excitement you never got the message, but you've been promoted. Still the same lousy job but with a new title so you can't bitch too much now can you?"
Joseph realized how stupid he just made himself look. Jasmine Yolander was no clown nor was she easily impressed by juvenile attempts to look cute. She wasn't just any Marine, no this one had worked on Castorious's staff and had served with the man before the holocaust. Hell, she was a Canceron citizen just like Castorious and himself. Most Canceron women would have decked any man who tried to come onto them like he just tried, even if he was only playing around. Fortunately for him, Jasmine was too tired and dirty.
"I hope the accomodations provided for you and your Marines are acceptable. I apologize for there not being sufficient guest quarters for all of you. I can however guarantee hot meals and hot showers. Colonel Dualla, I hope your quarters are acceptable?"
Joseph had a some things to take care of but he wanted to speak to these two as soon as possible.
"General, Colonel, I would like to discuss a few things the president told me, before he decided to no longer be the President, if you don't mind. I have to take care of some things first but perhaps after you've both had a chance to clean up and get some chow in you, say here on the Bridge in a few hours?"

Jasmine ignored the Captains feeble attempt at being, well, handsome. His being from Canceron was the only thing preventing her from smacking his skull against the nearest console or bulkhead. She reminded herself though that this man was no ordinary man. After all, he was a third cousin of her boss, J Castorious. Promotion or not, the man would always be her senior and her boss. The news from Markus that she herself had been promoted did not sit well with her. She smelled a coup or a revenge kick from someone at Fleet HQ. The two Admirals being present here swayed Jasmine's thoughts towards a coup. There had been Colonial Marines still loyal to the former SecDef down on the surface, shooting at her and her Marines. She would personally seek out any Marine who was a traitor, dispensing with the need for any messy trials. She looked at Markus, then to Clayton Dualla.
"Captain, let me thank you for the space in the hangar bay. We're very appreciative, and for those showers and chow. I believe we may be wanting to discuss some of the same items Captain but would prefer to not do that here. Your quarters perhaps? Clayton, your feelings on this?"

General now, is it? Clayton professionally kept the straight face. Marcus was being a chraracter. Clayton wouldn't do that if this had been his own ship. He had come from being XO on a Battlestar, and had a lot more decorum. This was Marcus's own ship, but Clayton was a bit put off by his action. He was going to use the formal 'Request permission to come aboard,' but didn't feel like it after the comedy routine. He sincerely hoped that Marcus would be a lot more more serious in the discussion of the things from Doral. He thought that the man would be, or else he wouldn't have been Captain for as long as he had.
"Captain Marcus, I have not seen my quarters yet, but I shall have no problem. As to what former-President Doral has, I do agree with General Yolander, we need to hear that as quickly as possible." He would rather make the mistake of calling a Colonel a General instead of a General a Colonel. " I do want to inform you that one of your guests is the Terran Director for Research and Development, Mr. James Sirius Zachary Drexl."

Joseph stood there listening to the Colonel, all the while smacking himself for trying to be cute with Yolander. Promotion or not, she was a Colonial Marine officer and second in command of all Marines on Terra. The fact she hailed from Canceron made matters even worse. He was lucky they were on HIS ship, otherwise, he would have found himself in a hospital. Turning his attention to the Colonel, Joseph responded to the last sentence.
"Ah yes, Drexl. The President spoke of him, briefly. From what I understand, he's a genius in just about everything he involves himself, including the somewhat darker side of things. He has his fingers in all the pies. I suppose he should be accorded some sort of celebrity status Colonel? I'll have someone take care of that. For now, we will be sitting here, just off station from the shipyards, while my Chief Engineer makes some repairs, courtesy of our little visit to the surface. I have yet to get a time frame but the fact we have members of the Terran government and the Admiralty on board doesn't sit well with me Colonel. I would like to meet with you and the General here in my quarters, say in fifteen minutes?"

Clayton noticed the change immediately. Where Captain Markus had told both Dualla and Yolander to go have dinner, and get back with him back on the Bridge in 'a few hours', suddenly the meeting was to be in the Captain's Quarters in fifteen minutes. Only one thing had happened between the two, and that was Clayton's announcement that James Drexl was aboard. Suddenly, everything became more urgent. Markus's description of Drexl fit what everybody else had said, that the man was a genius who played both sides of the fence. Though the Captain didn't say so directly, he had to mean Drexl when he referred to 'members of the Terran Government'. Did that mean that, to him, Judith Schwein wasn't a threat?
"As you wish, Captain. Your quarters in fifteen minutes." He turned to the Terran General. "I suppose you'll take a rain check on the dinner, then?"

Jasmine looked at the Captain, then to Clayton. She reached her left hand inside her trouser cargo pocket and produced a milrat package. Handing it to Clayton, she smiled.
"Always come prepared I say. Hope you like chow mein substitute. We didn't have time to be picky when we grabbed rations. Beanies and weenies would have been better but when you're hungry, food is food. Fifteen minutes your quarters Captain. We'll see you there."
Jasmine smiled as Markus stepped over to a crew member standing there with a clip board. She started to say something but decided to wait. Turning to Clayton, she had that look on her face.
"Well, that was a quick change of plans. Any idea as to why? And where exactly is the Captains quarters?"
Before Clayton could respond, a young man came up to them.
"Begging your pardons Sirs, if you'll follow me I'll take you to the Captain's quarters."
Jasmine nodded to Clayton, then the two of them exited the bridge and made their way to parts unknown. Jasmine was curious as to what the Captain had to say regarding the President and most likely the passengers on board. Drexl was still a mystery to her, even though she had only seen him once, at the Marine Base near the capital city. The Judge on the other hand, Jasmine was keenly aware who she was. This should be interesting, to say the least.

Picking up the mic, he sent out an encrypted reply. "Atlantia, this is Marauder Actual speaking. Be advised we are still off station from the shipyards at Terra. We have members of the Terran government as well as two members of our Admiralty on board, rescued during the kidnapping of the President on Terra, the Eresean continent. We are making emergency repairs, then returning to the planets surface. We will not be going back to the Colonies, having just returned from there a few months ago, Marauder Actual out."
