6 hours of pure hell, Jonathan and his men managed to take grueling 50 miles but lost hundred to exhaustion as well as death; he had pushed his men too far to the edge and now they were just holding 500 yards of territory. Normally an army can capture 30 miles on foot in a day though he pushed his men to take 50 miles in merely 6 hours, a feet that not even the SFC could do and now they all were paying for it; they were out of supplies and down to only two mags per person. The remaining NSOTO's formed up on Jonathan's lines and now reinforcing them but now everyone was stuck behind a barrier with the medics still behind them by 30 miles taking care of the dead. Tapping his radio, he stayed down as his men fired back at the Centurions on both sides; "This is Jonathan, we've solidified our position but not sure how long we can hold it so please get to us as soon as possible."

Slowly pushing to the middle, Michael and his men didn't have the same issue that Jonathan had on ammunition just they had the problem getting it to the units that needed it considering the trucks were getting stuck in the mud but at least the aircraft were assisting Jack and everyone else. For hours, Michael had been on the front lines and his armor was taking the hits but even he knew it was going to fail soon...sooner than later as he fell back to assist one of his lieutenants who was falling behind but soon noticed someone in the distance. Lowering his rifle as he pulled out his pistol, he could see an Eight with one of his men and he knew he had no Cylon personnel with his men but how would an Eight go unnoticed especially with his men and now he had to get to the bottom of it but as he approached he noticed she was wiring up one of his men which led him to yell towards her; "Put your frakkin hands up now!"
Turning around, she grinned as she set off the explosives, it must've been several blocks of G-4; an explosion that even Jonathan could see as men, mud and even vehicles went into the air. Michael was thrown almost ahead of his men, waking up in the mud with his entire body hurting as he heard men rushing towards him but also men rushing to Victor who had his tank on the side from a parked raptor hitting it during the explosion. His armor took the blow but when he landed, it all shattered leaving him in pain throughout his chest where he landed; slowly getting up as he pulled out a new earpiece for his old one got ejected away from him. Tapping the radio as he got up, "This is Captain Michael Thrax, watch out for Cylon terrorist. A number Eight went through my lines and used one of my dead as a bomb, we lost 100 men with many injured," pausing as he felt a piece of hot lead hit him in the shoulder only an inch from his spine which forced him to drop. Feeling a robotic arm roll him over, he fired several shots into the Centurion before it fell down on him; unaware he left the channel open as he tried to get free from the Cylon, yelling in pain as he felt the round starting to cool in his shoulder. Slowly getting free, he couldn't feel anything in his shoulder nor could he move his arm as he fell back to the ground; passing out from the blood loss as well as just the pure pain of having the bullet cool against his bone.

Only feeling the explosion from the raptor hitting the tank and knocking it over to its side which knocked him out of his seat, getting back up as he wedged open the hatch before crawling out into the mud with the tank on fire as well as fire burning on the ground. Watching Michael fall after getting up from the Centurion, Victor knew if he died then the army would fall apart and everyone would blame him; jogging over to Michael as he grabbed the man from the back of his vest and began dragging him to the tank. Pulling the medical bag off of Michael, he pulled the bullet out of his shoulder before wrapping it up and connecting an IV bag with a bag of synthetic blood to get him back on his feet; pulling the weapon and magazines off of him. Tapping the radio, Victor connected to Sam as he called over the medics to take care of the Captain; "Sam, he's barely going to make it but the enemy Cylon slowed our progress and we're out of tanks for our side."
Putting on his night vision goggles, he ran to the front lines as he reloaded the M4 before holstering his pistol; he needed to keep the army moving forward after all the Cylons wanted to hinder the invasion and now they have with terrorist attacks.

Sam tapped her radio when she heard Victor's voice, firing a shot into a centurion as she and her team were on the move, her men moving further ahead. "Victor, I am on my way to your position. Don't let Michael die. I'm coming." She tapped the radio again, watching as her team had started towards a raptor that had landed. Before she could call out for them to stop, an explosion from the raptor sent debris everywhere, the blast killing her men in the process and sending Sam to the ground. Her head pounded, and there was nothing but anger and hatred in her eyes as she sat up, watching a skin job that was walking towards her.
The Colonel was an uncontrollable, hot headed Tauron and it showed in that moment when the Six reached for her. Sam was quick enough to kick her legs out from beneath her and jump on top of the Six, bringing her fist down to connect with the skin job's face. Hit after hit, until she could feel the pain in her knuckles, could see blood, but she could not stop her rage. When she reached for her sidearm, she hadn't expected the Six to reach for the knife that had fallen from Sam's boot, nor did she expect the woman to move after the beating and bring the blade across her neck. It was luck that Sam managed to bring her hand forward and fire a round into the skin job's head, before falling to the side.
As she lay there on the ground, staring up at the night sky, Sam mumbled in between small gasps for breath, a hand on her throat as her thoughts drifted to Michael. "I'm coming." Her vision blurred, yet she only imagined the life they might have had, if the war on Terra had been won. She could hear someone approach then, a flash of light that she assumed was another team, felt a hand on her throat, though it didn't matter when all she saw was darkness.

She could hear someone approach then, a flash of light that she assumed was another team, felt a hand on her throat, though it didn't matter when all she saw was darkness. Tom had his men begin reinforcing Jack's lines as he saw the explosion from the raptor, the Cylons had attacked Michael's lines and now Jack's which meant they were scared that the Terrans were actually going to win the war. Hearing reports it was Sam's team, he rushed through the lines only to see the woman on the ground with her throat cut; applying pressure as he got on his radio calling for a medical shuttle. Pulling out a bandage with one hand, he quickly began wrapping her neck up as he whispered to her; "Stay alive, Colonel, no one has quit yet so your not frakkin quitting," ordering one of his men to setup a pack of synthetic blood for transfer as he spotted the shuttle getting shot down but an missile. In all honesty, they had no control and right now they needed just a little; Tom's lines were secure for he shared his lines with Jonathan and Jack. Spotting a truck rolling up, he helped the medics put her on a stretcher and quickly got her to the truck before running over to the driver; "Stay on the back road and be careful, the medics will be in the back to take care of her, I'll see about giving you Viper support," patting the side of the truck which told them to get moving. Tapping his radio to connect with the pilots, "I have a truck leaving for the northern end of the island, it has Colonel Martin in it and needs to be protected at all costs," getting off the radio just as he spotted another explosion but this time his own artillery guns went up in flames. The Terrans were fighting in an atmosphere that none of them fought in before and with the Cylons attempting to hold control of the island they were fighting a force just as strong as they were and slowly losing.

Their lines were falling apart, getting up out of the mud only to see the Valkeries explode which also ignited the fuel lines; lighting up the night sky in a massive fireball and sending black smoke into the air. Samuel dropped down into the mud with his hands over his head, lifting his head up to see the engine pod in front of him, tapping his radio, he knew they couldn't hold their lines anymore and needed to retreat; "This is Specialist Samuel Winters, the Northern lines are retreating, we're taking heavy losses and need to regroup right away. We're evacuating our injured to the beach and require the navy to cover our retreat," watching as men began setting up firing lines for the retreat; joining the lines as the medics began evacuating the injured including Michael.

Jack wasn't surprised that the Cylons managed to puncture his lines since the push, his men were quite thin but to hear Michael's lines were pulling back and that Jonathan couldn't move; he had to find the brighter picture. They came into this fight outnumbered and still managed to take territory but winning the island was out of the question since they threw all their assets into this one shot and might lose it to the enemy as is so they needed this win but also had to take a loss. Ordering his front line forces to stop, he knew Gondawan territory was covered in Cylon forces and that the Gondawans had all but betrayed the SFC for a supposed "cure" to their disease but if he gave up Gondawan Territory then he would be giving up two bases in the territory as well. Getting on the radio, he quickly ordered all the units to stop advancing before lifting up a white flag to the Cylons and yelling into their lines; "I'm Commodore Jack Thrax and I wish to speak to the Cylon in charge of the Frondal Islands, I want to suggest a compromise after all we both know you don't want this island."
He was doing something that no Terran had ever done and he knew the costs, exchanging one territory for another meant until they could rebuild their armies that the Gondawans would be Cylons and possibly an exchange of technologies...right now it didn't matter. Atlantis' main computer was wiped out leaving nothing behind except memory altering data, their bases barely had enough to run themselves and he was sure that Odin had cleaned out the one base which was good enough for him and the Gondawans themselves had to see this coming from miles away. He just had to explain himself to the Admiralty who had to protect Terra while allowing the Cylons to have a small fleet in orbit but if he didn't do this then there are good chances everyone dies here on the islands and they lose Terra as a whole; so it was time to compromise.

Hearing the cease fire orders go out, Jack was doing the right thing considering his own men were taking losses which wouldn't help even after they capture the island, ordering his own men to follow the cease fire orders as he approached the beach. He had setup a makeshift infirmary with several landing pads as humvees rolled in, injured with as well as the Colonel and the Captain, he had get them off world and he could only do that if the Commodore can work something out but for now they both needed to be stabilized. Walking over to help the medics with the Colonel, he carried her inside to be placed on a bed as he noticed her eyes reacting to the light but she wasn't awake at all; helping the medics with the bandage as they cleaned up her wound before wrapping it up again. Tom had done everything right. Walking over to help with the Captain but it appeared that the man was barely conscious for he was walking in with help, ordering them both to be separated as he ordered the remaining raptors to head back to the carriers; any victory would be shallow since the navy went from a fleet of hundreds to a fleet of 4 ships.
Crossing his arms, he ordered a small unit to fall back to the infirmary encase all else fails and it came to a full retreat; they needed to secure the injured and get them off of the island at all costs. Ordering that the combat gear to be pulled off everyone, he walked into the tent to see Michael put down with a sedative knowing that if the cease fire went south then the man may never wake up or he would just on board the Carrier.

Walking in with the medics, the medic had informed him that he had a concussion as well as a scar on his head which explained why he couldn't see anything but blood on the left side of his face and when the Centurion rolled him over that it sliced into his back which also disconnected muscles which they needed to repair the damage. Sitting down onto the bed, he knew Jack would do anything to win this battle but also the lines were all but broken; taking a deep breath as he saw the mask at the same time. He couldn't keep doing this, take a beating and then injure those around him; he knew Sam was here since he heard a bit of the transmission and knew that John was separating them which he would've done himself. He was crippled at this point, taking in the gases as he drifted asleep, wondering if he'll awake on board the Carrier or the battlestar at this point.

Post by Rachel Sixx on Jul 8, 2015 11:58:22 GMT -6
Rachel stood there on the small ridge, surveying the battlefield. Almost all of their Javelins had been wiped out by the Terrans and she only had a few dozen heavy raiders available. Of course, those raiders were supplied with tactical nukes, something she really did not want to use at this point. Word had been received that additional basestars were heading towards Terra, she only hoped that they would still be here when they arrived. For now, she so desperately wanted those colonial marines taken out. How they had managed to survive up to this point amazed her. Turning to the hybrid next to her, Rachel gave a coomand she knew she would later regret.
"Get those heavy raiders ready for action. It's time to take out those colonial positions and place ourselves in a better spot when it comes time to have to deal with the terrans."
"Yes Mistress. Do you wish for the nukes to be loaded?"
"They should already BE loaded. If they're not, why aren't they?"
"I'll see to it immediately Mistress."
Rachel was starting to lose her patience with the entire situation. She made a mental note to deal with the Cavil known as Horace when this was finished. For now, she felt the urge to strangle the hybrid but knew that would only result in the others becomng agitated and who knew what would happen then. Looking back through her binoculars, she could see the marines still fighting off the centurions. For wahtever reason, the terrans had not fully supported the marines position. Perhaps it was the terrain. Or perhaps it was the fact there were several hundred terran civilians still on that side of the river that were in the way. Whatever, Rachel was going to finish this fight and then worry about how they were going to leave this place. Looking at another of the hybrids, she gave another command.
"Ready my Javelin, I think perhaps it's time for me to get into this fight."
Walking over to the plane, Rachel climbed up the ladder and got inside the cockpit. Adjusting heslef, she waited as the ground crew strapped her in and handed her the helmet. Making certain all was as it should be, she gave a thumbs up, something she had witnessed the humans do, then closed the canopy. Maneuvering the plane towards the open area, she hit the gas and streaked down the field, then up into the sky. WIthin seconds, she was several thousand meters up and over the battlefield. Almost immediately, the terran anti-air defenses had tracked her and were firing at her. Banking to the left she came around and fired her canons, taking out two of the gun positions. Checking her weapons manifest, she was happy to see she had both missiles and bombs available. Looking to her right, she saw the ehavy raiders had launched and were preparing for their run on the marines positions. Pointing her plane downward some, she began firing her canons again, strafing the terran lines as she passed over them. She hit her weapons panel and selected bombs, lettnig loose of fout of them. Coming around to the left again, she watched in delight as they found their targets, a grouping of terran armor and apparently a fule vehicle. The ensuing carnage was spectacular to say the least. Keying her comm, she called to the raiders.
"Raiders, begin your run and then jump to the basestars."
The monotone voice of a centurion came oer the comm. "By your command."
Rachel watched as the six heavy raiders lined up one after the other and made their bombing runs. One, then two missiles streaked away from each of the heavy raiders, eachj one finding a target. Had those been heavy nuclear warheads on those missiles, the devastation would have wiped out over half the valley and contaminated the entire island continenet for thousands of years. As such, these were Class VII Tactical Nuclear Ordnance and the devastation was limited to only a few hundred meters in diameter, enough to take out a manned position but not enough to destroy an entire area. The radiation itself was also limited to just several hours, which was a good thing because the troops that would be taking over those positions would be hybrids and since they were half human, the less radiation they were exposed to, the better. She watched as the marines lines disintegrated. She well knew that not all of them had been killed and that the terrans would now send re-inforcements to cover the huge gap in the human lines, but not soon enough as hundreds of centurions were now pouring across the river and taking up positions within the human defensive lines, something she had been trying to do for weeks now. Keying hercomm, she called out to the terrans.
"Attention humans, as you have now witnessed, we have used tactical nukes. As you can see, the devastation was limited to only a few hundred meters from the impact sites. We have plenty more of those but I wish to discuss terms with your commander, over."

Jack watched as the Cylons devastated their lines, tactical nukes was a coward's way out and his order to cease fire left those men defenseless which made it harder for him to rethink his decision, they needed to come to an agreement especially now. Tapping his radio as turned to his tactical pad to send an encoded transmission to the Independence if all else fails, "This is Commodore Jack Thrax of the Nomads, I'm currently in command of all Terran forces on this island and your attack with tactical nukes was uncalled for. I'd like to meet face-to-face to discuss terms of a cease-fire, if you fail to answer this call or follow terms you will be missing out on a major opportunity and I'd be forced to order the Terran and Colonial fleet to nuke Terra much like the Cylons nuked the Colonies," letting go of the button as he sent the message to the Independence. His first priority isn't just to Terra but the wounded and if he couldn't come to a compromise then no one would have control of Terra, walking over to his Colonel's as he ordered a separate message to be sent to General Odin;
Ensuring the message was sent, he began removing his gear to show he wasn't hostile but leaving his pistol on his hip just encase this meeting didn't pan out so well for him; tossing his gear into the mud. Granted he wasn't in command of all the units on Terra but for this invasion he was and he had to show that he was in command as well; even if he had to go over Yolander's head to secure Terra.

Jasmine was busy going over the latest enemy troop movements when she heard the sound of approaching aircraft coming in low over the valley. As she watched a group of heavy raiders coming in, she realized that they were preparing to make a bombing run on her lines. Before she could react, she watched in horror as the six heavy raiders came in low and started dropping bombs. WIthin seconds, she watched as small mushroom clouds, typical of a nuclear detonation, formed over her lines. From her CP about two kilometers away, all she could do was scream in anger and watch as her marines were wiped out. Grabbing the comm from the young corporal standing next to her, she called out to the Colonial Fleet vipers standing nearby at Nilm City.
"This is General Yolander, I want all available vipers and raptors loaded with muclear ordnance and I want that ordnance dropped along my lines, I say again, drop your pods along my lines, we've been breached and are being over run, Yolander out."
Turning to her Sergeant Major, Jasmine was full of rage.
"We'll see who takes this field. Frakking toasters! Get in touch with the Terran Command and tell them I want every piece of frakking artillery they have targeted on the Cylon positions and I don't give a rats ass about civilian casualties."
The Sergeant Major saluted and grabbed the comm unit and began calling out to the Terrans. Moments later, the sound of vipes and raptors could be heard coming across the sea. Moments later, the sounds of small nuclear ordnance could be heard in the distance.
Drast was the first to go, along with several hundred cylons and about three thousand civilians who were either trapped in the small city or willing accomplices of the cylons. The next targets were the cylon positions along the Kilroy River, including her own positions. The centurions pouring across the river were caought out in the open and were turned into molten metal within seconds. Jasmine was still seething when the sounds of incoming artillery began passing overhead, the rounds tearing into the embedded cylon fortifications a few kilometers across the river. Shortly after that, the sounds of naval gunfire could also be heard hitting the cylon positions near the Drast Bay. Jasmine knew the terrans would not be happy with this development but the time for being nice was long over.
"Notify Fleet Command that we need medical units stat and that we'll be dealing with radiation casualties."
Jasmine was ready for this to be over. What she wasn't ready for was the next announcement. The corporal next to her handed her a slip of paper. Looking at it, she laughed.
"Well, just when it couldn't get any worse. The President has been killed saving a civilian freighter and now we have two more basestars in orbit. Frak this, get our people , those who are still alive. We're crossing the river and taking this fight to the cylons."

Starting his silent retreat while the Cylons focused on Yolander's lines, half of his men got back the beach they started from where he and his own men managed to get across the river and into friendly territory where the Cylons began nuking. Tapping on his radio, he knew nuking the island wasn't the best call especially since the islands wasn't worth anymore than the dirt and now the mushroom clouds; "Lieutenant Shay, get raptors on the ground and get the injured out of here. We're going to begin silently retreating while Yolander fights it out with the Cylons," pausing as he and his men climbed into personnel carrier, "maybe with the Cylons focused here we can take other territory."
Opening a crate in the back, he began loading up on ammunition as well as fresh explosives for he knew they had to retake Corinth now before it gets traded over or even forgotten about; slipping on his hat before looking down at his watch. The morning was only an hour away which meant he was hoping to have the capital before noon although that was quite ambitious but at this point they had to go bigger before bargaining with the Cylons; feeling the truck come to a stop as he climbed out and headed for the raptor which was waiting for them.
