Phineas sat in his office, most likely for the last time. Already, raiders were flying overhead, bombs being dropped here and there but no nuclear explosions. He sat there, wondering what exactly the Cavils were up to. Why not drop nukes and get it over with? Then it hit him! The cylon empire needed this planet, needed it because of the hundreds of thousands of new cylon-human hybrids that the Simons had been working on for years and the fruits of those labors had finally reached the stage to be introduced into cylon society. In other words, they needed a planet that was habitable for humans. They needed to be able to grow food-crops, livestock-on a mass scale, just as the humans do. Phineas smiled, knowing this went against the Cavils desires. Well, that would be the empire's undoing, allowing the humans-colonials and terrans-to survive, rebuild, fight back. There were over a couple billion terrans and already several hundred thousand colonials, the result of proper diets and plenty of sexual activity. Phineas knew he had to get out of here in the event centurions mange to land in the city. He was after all, President of the Colonies, a job he took serious. He had a few last orders to send out before leaving the building and heading to the off-site bunker to continue the government.

Hurriedly typing on his keyboard, Phineas began the first of a few presidential orders.

Effective immediately, the office of the Secretary of Defense-Colonial Government, is hereby abolished. The reason for this action is the position has been compromised by the actions of a rogue individual and that the Fleet has effectively been managing itself ever since the destruction of the 12 Colonies of Kobol.

This action has no bearing on the current holder of that office, Commander Yogi of the Battlestar Atlantia. Commander Yogi has performed his duties in an honorable and professional manner.

Due to the fact that Fleet Admiral Middleton is currently out of position and is on board her Flagship, the Battlestar Leonides and word has been received that Admiral C. "Playtime" Whaley has been injured, I am hereby ordering the immediate promotion and assignment of the following individual:

Commander Yogi is hereby promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and is to assume command of the Colonial Fleet and will also assume command of the newly created Terran Fleet, unti such time that the Terran Fleet names its own Admiralty officers.

This assignment shall remain in effect until such time that either Fleet Admiral is prepared and able to assume the duties of their rank.

As Fleet Captain Bor Filar, Terran Fleet (npc)

Captain Filar and his crew were ready to join in the defense of the planet. Having watched this ship being built at first, then joining in the construction, the crew was anxious to put this ship to the use it was intended. They had trained for nearly a year and were as ready as they would ever be. He looked at his XO and gave the order.

"Leftenant Commander Morali, set coordinates for home."

The XO nodded and entered the coordinates into the FTL computer. Looking at the captain, she smiled.

"Here's hoping this thing actually works as they say it does."

Turning the key, she waited a second before pushing the key in. Looking at the Captain, she waited.

"Now Commander."

And in a SWOOSH! the ship jumped from it's anchorage and headed for Terra......

Smiling a wide grin, Phineas waited for the comm link to come to life. Seconds later, he could hear the sound of dead airwaves, then a sfot voice informing him he was ready to go. Sitting at his desk, which was covered with dust and debris, Phineas began speaking.

"My fellow citizens, this is President Doral. I am happy to announce that I have returned to my office and am currently preparing to oversee the defense of the planet and the impending assault on the invading Cylons. I know many of you have wondered where I have been and I apologize for leaving. My departure from the government center here in the capital was necessary, so as to lure the cylons into believing we were on the run. That is not and was not the case. We are very much here, Terran and Colonial, soldier and citizen. Together, we will wipe the cylons clear from this planet, our home. Tragedy has once again been brought to not only us but to our Terran brothers and sisters. Most of our civilian ships and quite a few of our military ships have taken the necessary precautions and have jumped away. Soon, they will return to us. I ask that anyone who hears this message and is near the city of Sparta to go there now and assist in the recovery efforts. Many have died there and many more are wounded. For now, please know that our gallant military is not only fighting the cylons but beating them back. We will win this fight and we will win it as one. May the gods shine their blessings down upon us, So Say We All!"

As swarms of raiders tore into the Terran fleet, those that were able to witness the fireworks show were amazed to see over a dozen basestars being hit simultaneously by missiles that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Having been given this reprise from the battle, the commanders of the remaining terran ships re-positioned their ships to minimize the damage they were still receiving at the hands of the thousands of raiders.

The terran ship Freedom and the colonial battlecarrier Pacifica were faring much better against the basestars, both ships having beaten back two basestars each. This was providing the forces on the surface some respite from the assault on the planet, the two massive ships having taken out hundreds of troop transports. Still, the damage caused by the basestars was still significant. The Pacifica had one of her five engines out and was reporting fires in that section of engineering that were threatening to spread. The Freedom had one of its launch/landing bays damaged beyond use and it was hampering her ability to re-arm and re-fuel her fighters quickly enough.

If only those battlestars would return.....

On board the Battlecruiser Magellan

As Commander Kyle Pox, Terran Defense Forces (npc)

Commander Kyle Pox watched as missiles slammed into the Cylon fleet. Over a dozen were hit and still they were slamming the Terran Fleet. With the Copernicus destroyed, his was the only capital ship currently defending the planet. It didn't matter that there was the colonial battlecarrier Pacifica on the far side of the planet, engaged with two basestars, or that the Terran battleship Freedom was also engaged with her own basestars.

The Magellan, along with the Gunstars Warhawk, Falcon, Cepheus
Bellona, Clotho, Circe, and Pollux were fighting for their very lives. Already the Circe and Bellona were so ablaze that the two ships appeared as orange balls in space. The Commander looked at the DRADIS officer.

"Lieutenant, what's it look like out there?"

"Sir, there are still fifteen to eighteen basestars, thousands of raiders. We're spread too thin Sir and the squadrons are being tore apart. Already, several hundred planes from the surface have been sent up and the CAP above the cities is pretty much gone."

Looking at the XO, Commander Pox gave the order to fall back even further away from the basestars.

"Colonel Jabo, pull us back 1500 more meters. We need some breathing space. Get very bird that can fly up and out of the tubes. I don't care if it can shoot, as long as it can fly, it can buy us some time."

Colonel Jabo nodded when the DRADIS officer yelled out.

"SIRS! The Circe and Bellona have both just exploded!"

Flying towards the Magellan to re-fuel and re-arm, Flight Captain Magoo suddenly watches in horror as the gunstars Circe and Bellona both explode, having been hit by hundreds of raiders. Keying her mic, she sends out a message that will almost immediately alter the course of the battle.

"Terran Control, this is Python Six Omega Three, be advised that gunstars Circe and Bellona are dead, say again, Circe and Bellona are dead. Am out of ammo and unable to return to home ship, am bugging out for the surface. Gods have mercy on us all, out."

Ships damaged:

Gunstars Perseids (BGS-012) and Cronus -(BSB-10), along with the Battlestar Proteus (BSG-76), Chrysalis (BSG-72), multiple missile hits to various areas of the ships.


Battlestar Acheron (BSG-77), missiles hitting her port pod and taking out several point-defense gun batteries and a number of her launch tubes.


The Battlecruiser Persephone (BCR-608) was hit by one missile to her number one engine but was able to continue on with minimal damage.

The Battlestar Odysseus (BSG-92) was relatively unscathed, one of only a few ships that sustained almost no damage.

The Battlecruiser Agamemnon (BCR-211) had taken three missiles to her starboard side but her damage control crews had put out the fires and were able to prevent the entire starboard side of the ship from being lost.

The Gunstar Castor (BCR-766) had taken one missile to her bow, taking out the entire CIC and leaving the ship to be controlled from the Aft Auxiliary Control Room.

Colonial Fleet HQ-severe damage to building with most damage caused to south and west wings of building. Also, barracks quarters destroyed along with transportation center.

Effective immediately, by direct order of Admiral Deanna Middleton, Fleet Admiral, the promotion of Rear Admiral Yogi to Fleet Admiral based upon death or disappearance of aforementioned Fleet Admiral Middleton is rescinded and nullified by reason that aforementioned Fleet Admiral Middleton IS NOT MISSING NOR IS SHE DEAD.

She knows exactly where her and the bulk of the Colonial Fleet are situated. In as much as a coup is still underfoot, such action by Admiral Yogi could be construed to be an attempt to seize control of the Colonial Fleet.

Effective immediately, Admiral Yogi shall revert back to his permanent rank and maintain himself as Commanding Officer of Battlestar Atlantia until such time as killed in action, requests transfer to Retired List or is relieved of his Command.

"All right to all of the fleet this is your Fleet Admiral Yogi speaking. As you all my have heard over the wire about me is wrong. I don't wish to hold power over you all, I just simple wish to fight for you all as your Admiral like I been fighting along with your family and friends. I believe Fleet Admiral Deanna Middleton to be dead. I last saw her at the Cylon Outpost Gamma near there home world that was April of last yahren. She was planing to nuke the outpost's and then them, once I got my orders about Alex I then few away. She was in the middle of it when I flew there. There were raiders, Basestar every where. I barely made it on-board then back out. I been trying to get a signal or whereabouts, now this comes over the wire without a peep over a yahren."

"I say this is no quintessence don't you think, think about everything that has be happening. Cylon's knows what were up to, Ace turn's on us but still holds his rank and power in the fleet right after I sent Middleton files on him and notice of stripping his rank. Then I asked for all Colonial codes to be changed but they were not and Alex hacked in and block our every attempt. The Colonial government as be disbanded. All this adds up people, what does this all mean you say? I say it means that Deanna Middleton is herself a one of these Cylon's. That also is in line with 3 first we have Mister President Benjamen Little who is a known Cylon and next we have Mister Phineas Doral who is the WHAT? that's right his the vice President. And now it seems that Ms. Deanna Middleton is a Cylon, now I hear Benjamen Little and Phineas Doral is make there move to rebuild our government but in there image.
There has been a plot against us from the beginning but now we all the recent event falling in to place and to owe it to my people I will continue to fight the good fight as your New Fleet Admiral. So Say Well All!!!"

Incoming message from Battlestar Acheron

The following battle report is hereby sent to all Colonial and Terran units.

The following ships have either been destroyed or severely damaged. From the Atlantia Battlegroup, the Gunstar Cronus -BSB-10 has been destroyed with loss of the entire crew. From the Battlestar Chrysalis BSG-72 Battlegroup,
the Battlecruiser Avenger BCR-7501 reports massive damage to her starboard pod and fires throughout the ship. She has pulled off the line and will attempt to make it to the shipyard. The Gunstar Decuma -BGS-006 reports she is out of ordnance and damage is moderate to her topside.

Fleet Admiral Middleton's Flagship the Battlestar Leonides BSG-70 reports minor damage to the port stern, moderate damage to the starboard fore end of the landing bay and several fires in the ship. She is rendezvousing with a resupply ship to take on more ordnance and supplies. The Battlecruiser Athena BCR-9801 reports moderate damage to port pod, fires are under control but she is low on ordnance and will pull off the line to resupply. No word on the gunstar assigned to Leonides.


Acheron Battlegroup reports as follows: Battlecruiser Artemis BCR-5532, destroyed. Battlecruiser Aphrodite BCR-023 reports no damage as she is being kept in reserve.
