"Commander sydell, this is commander Reynolds. We have been granted permission by commander justice to enter the imperial systems provided our standings in relations to the cylon empire are not stained. we have come seeking a job that can pay." "Well then welcome Commander, Please come aboard and we can talk. Tiberius if you hear this stand down now and return to the Ares."

Jack grinned slightly at the reply he received from the ares commander. Thats the kind of response I wanted to hear, he thought as he flipped the comm to the white fang.
"Dan, your in charge until i get back. Send two pilots to meet me at the ares. we may have a job to run that might even pay enough to get our base started"
Jack then keyed the comm to the ares. his voice pleasant and calm.
"Understood. BCR1 in position and requesting docking clearance for myself and two other pilots that will be here shortly."

Tiberius broke off the engagement. The rash young pilot just received a new lease on life. Next time, the lesson would be permanent. With Ares now in the vicinity, he did not have to jump home, just enter the pattern and fly in.
Scar gracefully peeled off from the White Fang and described a lazy circle to the far side of the Ares, where Landing Bay Three was. He could have let the Raider fly a landing and even send a request for clearance in his own voice (well, it was actually their own voice), but he always enjoyed the manual control. Manual control was a poor choice of words, because he was a machine as much as the Raider Organism was, or a Centurian was. There was no human imperfection between brain and plane.
"Ares CCC, Tiberius James, requesting landing clearance in Bay Three."

He was expecting the Eight he'd spoken to earlier, but got a Six this time. It did not matter to him what it was, as long as he got clearance.
"Tiberius James, permission granted. Welcome home."
Like the Eight, this Six's voice was familiar. She sounded very familiar with him. She was extremely comfortable and at ease, and not at all sincere. No Sixes were sincere. He was expecting the channel to close, but he heard the voice of the same model who granted permission:
"I've missed you."
That was far more than familiar. That was intimate.

Eddie wakes up in the resurrection area of the shipyards, totally confused as to why he is here. The last thing he remembers is checking out a scout class raider for a personal look at an unusual nebula near his basestar, then waking up here.
After cleaning up and researching why he downloaded, he realizes that his mission to the nebula failed miserably. He must have downloaded from the backup that his scout had sent back to the ARES, which was in turn sent back here. It is obvious from the time difference between now and when he launched that the timeout feature of his download process had timed out and automatically started the resurrection process.
Eddie, after composing himself, contacts the Cylon High Command to ascertain his command of the ARES. He finds out that the ARES is now under the command of Colonel Sydell as acting Commander. Eddie, not wanting to disrupt the current tactical situation, successfully petitions CHC to have Sydell be made the official commander of the ARES. Eddie also inherits command of the shipyard after his request to build another star to personally command; a job actually more suited to his ultimate talents.....

Kona walks into the office and once again sees Eddie throwing pencils into the ceiling tiles as he skewers flies with them. She has to giggle and grabs a couple of pencils herself. She hones in on one particularly pesky one and ZIPSSSSSSS it to the ceiling tile. Then she takes the seat opposite his desk and crosses her legs. Placing her hand on the arm of the chair she smiles over the desk at him. *I apologize for not visiting here sooner. Actually your files somehow slipped past my watchful eye, Eddie. Now, about this Nano Tech you are working up.......... I would like to see Nanos be shipped to all Stars in the Empire with the basis for their use to be repairing damaged vessels. I'm thinking the Nanos can reconstruct the carbolite in a matter of hours on a severely damaged unit. They could be input into the Centurions for a self healing process as well. Especially the Elite Guardian Units.*
Kona thinks a little bit longer *I don't see any need to share this yet with the Colonials, as these ShipYards belong to the Empire. I am here because I am first and foremost a Cylon and want to see your Tech improved upon. The Colonials would never trust Cylon Tech and you and I both know that! You and Keldar were / are absolute Master Minds and if they (Colonials) had an inkling of the damage you were capable of I'm sure they would put a hit out on your head. We'll just keep this visit between you and I for now* Kona reaches for the pitcher of ice water and pours a glass then takes a long sip from it. *Awww best tasting water ever. Nothing like Cylon filtration, Eddie!* Eddie just smiles. He has been having trouble remembering what he and Keldar did with the nanites soo many years ago. Well Ma'am, I'm trying to remember everything that Keldar and I did back then. It's been soo long. I remember that K had some really radical weapons applications, but I would like to keep it more defensive in nature. Eddie pauses for a few moments. I would like to explore the possibilities of making the nanites biological in nature, not unlike the raiders, rather than more mechanical. It would open up a whole new field of possibilities.... Am thinking either carbon or silicon based. If I can figure it out, we could grow ships rather than build them...... think of it .... growing raiders and basestars...... Eddie sips at his iced tea on his desk ... I'm also working on an anti gravity system that may have potential in thwarting missile and explosive shell attacks. Not quite sure how it is going to work though .....

Kona smiles as she remembers so long ago when Keldar insisted on injecting everyone on New Earth with those Nanos he had perfected! *I remember when Keldar injected all of us on New Earth with his little Nano creations! I was hesitant but in the long run they have saved my life more than once.*
she brushes her hair back and secures it behind her right ear *In fact, Play has them in him too. I'm sure they saved his life not so long ago when he was somehow poisoned with mushrooms accidentally. As for building Raiders and Stars with them.......... that is a very intriguing idea to say the least, Eddie! I can imagine the ShipYards bustling with activity as you develop new and better Raiders using this technology. I would suggest silicon base over carbon. Carbon is harder to come by and we can engineer our own silicon to your specifications. The Centurions will work hard on this and there is a possibility of selling some of this new tech to the Brown Coats. Captain Reynolds is always looking to improve his stance in life!* She lifts her glass and seeing it is empty decides to have iced tea this time. Kona pours a glassful of tea over the ice and spying some lemon wedges on the counter behind Eddie she gets up and grabs a couple as she walks behind him. She sits back down and squeezes the lemon into the drink and swirls it around in the glass tipping it to and fro til it mixes all up. Then she drinks a long drink of it and smiles. *Ohhh nothing like Cylon brewed tea! Thanks!* Checking her watch she sees the hour is late. She finishes her tea and then stands up smoothing her skirt. *This has been fun, Eddie, but I need to sneak back before Play actually realizes I am gone from the Atlantia. I will come again soon but for now I think you have sufficient work to keep you occupied! Good luck* she walked toward the door and as quietly as she appeared she was gone.

Eddie listens to Kona talk about his new ideas, and her suggestion for silicon based nanites. He personally was leaning towards carbon based such that he could integrate carbolite and stealth into the builds, if Kona wants silicon, then he would work on silicon. Actually, Eddie thinks, that developing both would be better overall.
As Kona goes for her iced tea, Eddie reflects on what she has said, about possibly selling/sharing the tech he is developing. This does not set well with him. Here he is trying to give the edge back to the cylon, and there is already talk about evening out the odds, again. Eddie remembers that he was a proponent of peace while with New Earth, and this coupled with the third member of the development team, Skulbaka, having committed her loyalty totally to the humans, ultimately lead to her having Eddie, under a flag of truce and full diplomatic courtesy, executed as a threat to humans. The thought of his enrages him. Never again will he willingly aid the humans.
Then Eddie remembers what he and Keldar were doing the nanites. They were setting them up to do both repair and dismantling of whatever they decided. There was even talk about weaponizing them to invade the human body and ultimately sever the spinal cord at the brain stem, with little or no warning on being "infected" with nanites. As Eddie is recalling this, Kona leaves. Eddie nods in acknowledgement and continues to ponder this .......

*Commander Eddie, I was told to make you aware of a large shipment of faulty Centurions arriving from the 109 Ares. They are sending you 1/3 of their complement as they were defective. They attempted to arm their shielded guns on a newly resurrected Mal Reynolds and had some idea they were to take orders from someone going by the name of Alexander. He is a defective 7 model and not to be trusted. The Supreme Commander, Justice has given you over these Centurions and if anymore are found to be faulty they too will be delivered to you. Supreme Commander said you can do whatever you see fit with them as long as they are permanently taken offline. You can use them in your Nano tech development or whatever you desire. He wants them melted down so they cannot cause any more trouble. Eight out*

Eddie's thoughts are interrupted by a message from the SCORPION about defective centurions. He ponders this for a few minutes before sending a coded acknowledgement back to the SCORPION. Item 105 on today's "to do" list. He contacts his dispersing centurion to immediately send replacements out to the ARES to fill out her centurion compliment, then lets out a sigh. What to do with these "rejects"? Data is sparse on what actually happened, so isolation and deactivation will have to be the order of the day for these units until he can deal with them. The new nanites and raiders are his priority right now...................

........... Eddie has worked himself into a fit. He has tried every conceivable combination of available engines, weapons, air frames, armor, avionics, and still cannot come up with an improvement that will give any appreciable advantage back to the cylon. His office is literally 10 centimeters deep with crumpled up sketches. As he sits there, totally stumped, he says to himself...
What am I missing ................. what am I missing ................ there has to be something I am missing ............ Takes a sip of the now warm iced tea, lurches back in disgust spitting the contents of his mouth towards the overflowing waste basket. UUUUGGGGHHHH ... warm iced tea...... Eddie places his glass down and shifts his thoughts to the nanite project to try to clear his mind. Eddie briefly chuckles at the simplicity of working with pure machines; no biological concerns to engineer into the designs, like life support systems, acceleration limits, biological waste systems, feeding systems...............
Eddie stops mid thought, and a cold shiver goes down his spine ... THAT'S IT ... THAT'S IT ... PURE MACHINE ..... no G forces to deal with killing the pilots......... Eddie chuckles again at the irony ... sometimes you have to step backwards to go forward ............ and starts to work again on a new raider in earnest ...............

*Anther space time window opens spitting the Black Bird out right over Battlestar Leonides. Reaching over flipping on stealth mode reducing engines. Switching on plasma screening, the electron generator cycles up. Creating an ionized a bubble around the Blackbird Mk. II and thus a plasma bubble is generated. Narrowing the engine flaps, cycling up the thrusters.*

Jumping the ship into orbit, Alex looked over his watch as he turned to the Centurions; "Get everything launched and get us docked with the shipyard...inform Commander Cyogreedie I wish to see him and soon please," he knew the humans would be here soon and even more a bargaining chip to use against Yogi to get the Six.
