Our story, our beginning
Numbers denote the year of happening after arrival to the planet we originally named New Earth, in the hopes of keeping the Cylons from finding the real Earth. Eventually, the name was changed to Terra.
NCE stands for New Colonial Era
Year 1 NCE
New Earth is found (approximately 7 years after the destruction of the 12 Colonies of Kobol by the Cylons, killing approximately 50 billion people.)
The surviving Colonial Battlestars Galactica-II, Vulture, Chryasor, Cerberus, and Dragon, and a number of military/government support-type vessels, along with almost 200 civilian ships and 80,000 plus survivors decide to settle on the planet, having crossed the galaxy in search of the real Earth and the Galactica I and her Fleet of survivors.
New Earth is declared a neutral planet, both humans and Cylon humanoids living on the planet in peace. Although an indigenous population exists on the planet and already have some technology (electricity, light industrial capacity, etc.), there is evidence that a major war or disaster had occurred on the planet many years prior. Several major cities exist on the planet but the population is less than 500 million people. A few new cities are built by the Colonials, who also introduce their technology to the planet. A time of prosperity and peace settles across the planet.
A shipyard is constructed and new ships are built. Light to moderate industry is established on the planet, with mining operations throughout the solar system. The Cylons suddenly appear and several minor battles are fought.
Year 2 NCE
War is declared again by the Cylons under the control of Cavil, Simon, and Doral models, who were on other basestars when Galactica-1 destroyed the Cylon colony, this having been told by those Cylon humanoid models who lived in peace amongst humanity.
A major battle is fought, destroying the Battlestars Vulture and Cerberus and prompting the President to order the planet evacuated.
Only the Colonial Battlestar Galactica and a new Battlestar, the Retribution, along with a number of support vessels and numerous civilians ships survive and manage to escape, along with approximately 70,000 survivors, including some of the indigenous population.
END OF COLONIAL COMMAND ERA AND START OF COLONIAL MARINE COMMAND ERA
Year 2.5 NCE
Several ships decide to stay behind, hiding out amongst the asteroid belt and out past the edge of the solar system, waiting for the Cylons to leave.
After several months, it is verified that the Cylons are gone. Re-settlement of the planet begins, along with the re-establishment of manufacturing, agriculture and a new Fleet.
Around this same time, the CMS Gondawa, having left the Galactica II/Retribution Fleet, returns to Terra, bringing with her several thousand survivors, including one Dr. Elea Kaun-Castorious and her twin daughters, along with their Nanny and a certain Centurion who has devoted his existence to these humans.
Eventually it is decided to return to the 12 Colonies to bring back any survivors and anything that may be needed. While doing so, it is discovered that there were three other groups of Fleet and civilian ships that had escaped the Cylon holocaust and had returned to the 12 Colonies. Many of these ships decide to come to our New Earth.
Year 4 NCE
Having left New Earth a year previously, still in search of the real Earth, the majority of the Fleet, under the protection of the Battlestars Galactica II and Retribution, decide that it is time to return to New Earth, now called Terra. This movement is spurred on by the former Vice-President/President at the time, J Castorious. All told, over150 ships and 50,000 survivors leave the Galactica II and Retribution and return to Terra (New Earth) to live out their lives, hopefully in peace. One last battle ensues with the Galactica II and Retribution being destroyed.
Year 7 NCE
Fleet is rebuilt, adding several Battlestars and Battlecruisers to the Fleet.
Year 8 NCE
Cavil faction returns and attacks Terran Sector, damaging several Colonial and civilian ships but no planetary damage. Basestars jump before we can inflict damage.
Year 9 NCE
Regular trips to 12 Colonies occur, bringing more people to Terra and Ares (Mars). Population now swells to over 300 million people and Cylon Alliance citizens.
Year 9 NCE
Full scale invasion of Terra by Cavil faction. Majority of Fleet damaged, shipyards attacked but Cylon Alliance ships save it from destruction. Shipyards at Terra and Ares almost completely destroyed. Marines and Colonial Civilian Defense personnel fight for several months before driving Cylon invasion force from Terra. Major damage to cities and Fleet facilities. Three Basestars destroyed, four more damaged but were able to escape.
Over 150 million people killed on planets and in the Fleet.
Rebuilding efforts currently underway.
