*As I sit in my office, going over casualty reports and requets for Marines to be sent here and there, I wonder if it is possible to go insane from paperwork. I call out to my trusted assistant, Alicia Grover.*
"Alicia, would you bring me those latest damage reports please?"
*Alicia walks in, headphones on and music blaring, and hands me the reports.*
"How the frak could you hear me over that noise?"

I key the comm* "Commander, in the absence of our Fleet Admiral, I hereby give the go-ahead for Phase Two. We're trying to get the rest of the Fleet out of what's left of the yard at Jupiter orbit and Marines are being sent in from the Mars Colony to reinforce the planet and our ships." *I pick up the intel report and speak again* "Fleet Intelligence is saying the Cylons have mostly retreated back to their space but one of our cargo ships detected something large near the edge of the Solar System, out past the Supply Station. Keep your eyes open Commander and keep me posted."

As I look over the countless reports of casualties from the latest Cylon attack, an Aide comes into my office and hands me another intel report. I salute the Captain and look at the report.
"Frakking Cylons. Another cargo ship destroyed with over 150 people on board. We're going to have to send out ships to escort these civilian vessels or we're not going to have any ships left."
I pick up the phone and make a call to the Fleet Admiral's office.
"Get me the Vice Admiral. It's important."

While the Duty Crew of the Fleet Comm Station sat around, bored to death, a Specialist suddenly sat up in her chair, listening to the comm chatter from a Viper to the Battlestar Atlantia. Looking over to the Chief, she waved him to her Station.
"Chief, I'm picking up a signal from one of our Vipers. The pilot is calling to the Atlantia asking for assistance. She's under attack from a group of Raiders."
The Chief calls out to the Lieutenant on duty and both men come over to where the Specialist is sitting. The Lieutenant bends down a little and asks if the pilot has been identified.
"See if you can make out who the pilot is, and send out a message to any and all ships in that area to render immediate assistance."
"Yes sir, I can't make out the full transmission. I think the Cylons may be jamming the signal. The Atlantia has launched Vipers Sir. They're engaging the Raiders now Sir."
"Good, still send out the message to all ships in that Sector. There's bound to be more Cylons out there."
"Attention all Colonial ships in Sector Delta 70 Epsilon, be advised there is a Colonial Viper under attack by a group of Raiders. The Battlestar Atlantia is on Station and has launched Vipers. All ships are to take precautionary measures and render assistance if possible, this is Fleet Comm Center out."

On board the Battlestar Olympus (BSG-90)
As the Battlestar Olympus makes its way back to the Terran System, the crew is anxious and excited to be coming back home, albeit their new home. Having been rebuilt at the new Scorpion Shipyard and sent from the 12 Colonies only a year ago, the crew was a mix between seasoned and rookie personnel. It really wasn't fair to say that the ship was the original Olympus, since only the Engineering spaces and the Starboard Pod were recovered, along with 3 other sections of the ship from the Bow Section. Still, the ship was rebuilt using the original blueprint designs. So far, the crew had not had any contact with any Cylons and they were glad about that. Suddenly, the DRADIS proximity alarm started beeping. The DRADIS officer, a 12 year Colonial Fleet veteran, looked at her console. She couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing. She looked over at the XO and yelled out to him.
"SIR! DRADIS contact, bearing 155 karem 67. Sir, it's 3 Cylon Basestars."
The XO looked at the Captain, then barked out to the Launch Control Officer, a rookie Junior Lieutenant.
"Launch the alert Vipers and ready all tubes for immediate launch of all wings. Set Condition One throughout the ship. Comm, get on the horn and see if you can raise anyone on or near Terra. All weapons, go hot and prepare for incoming Raiders."
"Sir, aye, launching alert Vipers and readying all tubes."
"Comm, aye sir. This is the Battlestar Olympus to the Colonial Fleet at Terra, we are under attack from 3 Cylon Basestars. Our position is 1663 2007 3118, over."
The XO looked over to the Port Hatch and noticed that the Commander had walked in. He smiled at her and noticed her hair was messy.
"I see you were awakened by the claxon. I guess there was no time to run a brush through that hair huh?"
Commander Stephanie Goodman and her XO, Colonel Rob Sinclair, had served on several ships together throughout their careers, last serving as Commander and XO on the Escort Battlestar Copernicus. The two had always joked with one another, especially during combat operations. It kept the tone jovial and lessened the stress of the crew.
"I guess you lost your razor too, huh Colonel? What's the sit-rep?"
"Three Basestars just jumped into our space. Alert Vipers are launched and the tubes are ready to launch all the wings. Weapons are hot and ready to go. Contact with raiders in 3 minutes."
"Good. Ready the missiles. We're not going to stand and take on three Basestars for long but we'll see how much damage we can do before we leave."
Before the order could be given, several dozen Heavy Raiders suddenly appeared as if out of nowhere, launching nuclear ordnance. The impacting missiles hit the Port side of the Battlestar, setting off massive internal explosions and almost ripping the Port Pod from the ship. As the emergency lights flickered off and on, the CIC crew was busily trying to regain control of the ships functions. The Commander and XO were thrown up against the Command Console as more explosions rocked the ship. The Commander barked out an order to the Weapons Officer.
"Weapons, lock missiles onto those Basestars and fire tubes 1 through 8. Direct Forward Batteries towards the Basestar on the Starboard. Engage suppression fire and set our firing solution, and get those birds launched now!"
Not waiting to be told, the Communications Officer sent out another urgent message, hoping someone would hear and reply.
"This is the Battlestar Olympus. We are under attack and taking on severe damage. Request immediate assistance over. Our location is 1663 2007 3118, over. Do you copy Terran Control?"

Inside the Communications Center
As the message from the Battlestar Olympus was heard throughout the Comm Center, the message was sent to Fleet HQ, alerting them of the situation. With the gracefulness of synchronized swimmers, the Comm crew sent out messages to the Fleet that was still in orbit around Terra, appraising them of what was happening. Without having to be told, two of those ships immediately contacted the Comm Center, requesting permission to jump to the aid of the Olympus.
On board the Battlecruiser Artemis
"Fleet Comm, this is the Artemis. Requesting permission to jump to the Olympus's location, over. We have our FTL spooled up and are standing by, over."
On board the Battlecruiser Persephone
"Terran Control, this is Persephone Actual, we are ready to jump and render assistance, over."
"Battlecruisers Artemis and Persephone, you are cleared for immediate jump, Fleet Comm out."

On board the Battlecruiser Persephone
As the Persephone jumps to the location of the Battlestar Olympus, the crew is stunned to see the Olympus on fire all along her Port Side. The Basestars are situated all around the big ship, pounding it with gun and missile fire. The Olympus though continues to hammer away at all three Basestars. DRADIS also shows the Battlestar Atlantia is present, throwing up a defensive perimeter for the Olympus. Hearing the Atlatia call out to the Olympus, the Commander calls out to the Comm Officer to contact the Atlantia.
"Comm, notify Atlantia we are on station and tell them the Artemis is on its way."
"Aye Sir. Atlantia, this is the Battlecruiser Persephone, we are coming up on your Port side to assist. Battlecruiser Artemis is also enroute, over."

As J sits there listening to the comm chatter from the ships trying to assist the Olympus, Staff officers continue to come in to his office with reports from various Fleet stations and outposts. So far, there have been no other attacks from the Cylons but J knows all too well that the Cylons could attack Terra at any moment. Additional Marines had been transferred in from the Marine Base on Ares and were being assigned to various locations on the planet. The nuggets that had been training at the Air Field here at the Base had been assigned to duty with Squadrons on board the ships still at anchor here at Terra. If nothing else, they are two weeks from completing their training so they should be able to hold their own against any Raiders that may show up.

On Board the Battlestar Olympus
As the ships batteries continue to take out the hordes of Raiders attacking the ship, the Viper Squadrons are slowly being taken down by the Basestars and the Raiders. Already, almost half of the 200 Vipers on board had been destroyed or damaged. The Raptors however were continuing their success against the Basestars, having managed to launch nukes against one of the Basestars, tearing it apart. Still, the Olympus was damaged badly, her Port Pod barely attached to the ship. There was no way the ship could jump, not in this condition. Non-essential personnel were still being transferred over to the Battlecruiser Artemis, which had finally arrived. The Commander took the comm and called out to the Fleet that was assembled.
"Atlantia, this is Commander Goodman, Olympus Actual-we are continuing to evac our wounded and non-essential personnel over to the Artemis. Our Port Pod is out of commission and we have out of control fires Port Stern section from Spaces 78 through 118 over. DC crews are trying to secure damaged sections but I'm afraid the ship is lost. Request immediate evac assistance of remaining crew, Actual out."
At that moment, a Cylon raider armed with 4 nukes came up and over the top of the ship, firing all four missiles. The topside batteries immediately shifted their fire and were able to take out two of the incoming missiles however one struck right over the location of the CIC, the other hitting the center of the engineering section. The result was anything less than horrific for the crew and the ship. The entire CIC was destroyed and all personnel killed. As for the engineering spaces, the scene could only be described as a scene from Hades, fires immediately consumed everything that was flammable. As Raptors hurridely began arriving from the Artemis and the Persephone, explosions were happening throughout the ship, jettisoning pieces away, several of them striking the Persephone, causing moderate damage to her Starboard Side and taking out several Raptors.
On Board the Battlecruiser Persephone
As the CIC crew was busy doing the things that a CIC crew does during combat operations, the Commander looked up at the sound of the Commander from the Olympus. As he continued to listen, the DRADIS officer called out.
"Sir, a lone Raider is over the Olympus Sir. Radiological alarms sounded Sir-they've got nukes!"
The Commander, Rand Sinclair, barked out an urgent order to the Weapons Officer.
"Target that Raider!"
"Aye Sir, topside batteries, target incoming Raider over Olympus."
As Commander Sinclair watched in horror, the Raider let loose with four nukes. two were taken out by the Olympus's weapons but the other two found their marks, destroying the CIC and taking out the engineering spaces. At the same time, multiple explosions ripped through the Olympus, sending pieces of the ship directly into the Starboard side of the Persephone, setting off explosions in the Landing and Hangar Bays. Several outbound Raptors were also destroyed.
"Helm, hard left NOW!"
"Helm, hard left, aye Sir"
The Persephone began to move away from the Olympus, just in time too, as the massive ship suddenly lost the entire Port Pod. Fortunately, the Starboard side of the ship was still fairly intact, the Cylons deciding to concentrate on the port side for some reason.
"She's not going to last much longer. Order the evac of the entire ship and lets get our people outta there."
The XO, Colonel Francesca Loma began barking orders as fast as she could.
"Comm, tell those Raptors to hurry it up and get everyone off the Olympus. SAR birds stand by. Notify Atlantia what we're doing. Nav, get us a safe distance from her in the event she goes to pieces, set fire control to barrage. I don't want any lone Raiders getting through, is that clear?"
"Atlantia, this is the Persephone, we are evacuating the Olympus, she is on fire and the CIC is gone. Persephone Actual is requesting you provide cover for evac ops, over."

On Board the Battlecruiser Persephone
"Atlantia, this is the Persephone. Be advised, surviving crew of Olympus being rescued, ship is being abandoned. CIC has been destroyed, Command Staff is assumed dead. Our DC crews and those from the Artemis are finishing up operations. DRADIS shows Cylons withdrawing, one Basestar severely damaged and trailing debris. We will stand by, along with the Artemis, while clean up operations are finished up, over."
The Comm Officer returned her attention to the chatter of the Viper and Raptor crews.

Walking up to the Marines sitting at the Reception Desk, Carlie presents her ID card to the Sergeant.
"Carlie McPherson here to see General Castorious. I do have an appointment."
The Sergeant looks at the ID then at Carlie. Without any expression, the Sergeant replies in a low monotone voice.
"The General is not here at the moment. We do however expect him soon so if you would like to have a seat and wait for him, right over there."
"Well, where is he? I have an appointment. This is very rude of him."
"I'm sorry ma'am, I'm not at liberty to disclose the General's location, for security reasons. Now if you'll have a seat, as soon as he arrives, we'll let him know you are here."
Resigned to the fact that she now had to wait, Carlie took a seat and picked up today's edition of the Terran Times.
