The two hour flight was something else. Peacekeepers were being mobilized while HDF teams were sent ahead to clear out villages around the area and checking the 600,000 pounds of syntax that they had wired. Atlantis has always been critical to Terran technology for hundreds of years but having an unknown force inside was already scary enough.
Sitting around his neck as well as Jacks neck sat a specially designed key for the city self destruct which if the simulations were right that would destroy the entire city even bury the vault. A dead man switch.
Having the raptor land on the rocky cover for the city, William ordered a mix HDF and Peacekeeper team into the elevator which was the only way in and out. Opening the elevator, the blue steel walls were covered in blood, the enemy force probably stored the bodies of the fifty Marines in here. Stepping into the back with Jack, he turned to the man as he slipped on his frosted white tactical sunglasses; "You heard anything from your brother?"

Writing a letter to both Michael and Ashley, he put both documents on standby just to be safe while coordinating with his Foxtrot, Zulu and the reserved bomber wing encase the bombs didn't work. Atlantis held centuries of ancient libraries as well as the most complete archive of personal accounts from millions of soldiers. It was a living record and if they couldn't save the city then they can bury it and come back for the computer core.
Stepping off of the raptor, he stood in the back while Zulu Team piled inside the elevator with Peacekeepers beside them. Turning to William as he put on his combat gloves, he knew this massive mobilization would get Ashley's attention; "He's where he belongs and honestly hope he likes retirement."

Months of living in labs and now his mindless followers managed to capture Atlantis which gave him access to the Gondawan Vault which had technology that could evolve Cylons past what they are. Pouring the now 100% pure blood into the analysis tray, the massive locks began to open as the three hundred foot steel and stone doors began to open to reveal dozens of ships that were floating in mid air. Terrans had achieved localized anti-gravity fields which most likely ran on they're precious fission reactors.
Having the few thousand of his Centurions stay on standby, he would need to research on how to safely activate and thus remove these ships without tripping any safe guards. Hearing a single machine running, the elevator, he knew Terra's finest were coming down to "negotiate" his withdrawal.

Waiting for the doors to open, they knew that they could possibly run into the enemy but not while they were stuck in the elevator. It was like slow motion...the doors opened slowly to the sight of Centurions which opened fire onto Zulu and his Peacekeepers. The bullets passed through the soldiers and into them yet for him the vest stopped them...looking over at Jack who seemed like he had staggered.
Before he could check, the extremists grabbed them to drag them through the lobby that was filled with dead Marines and blood stained marble. More shots rang out as the Centurions fired more bullets into the soldiers in the elevator, glancing over to see three blood trails from Jack.

It happened too fast. Jack should've saw this coming but yet again he was too caught up with talking with Zulu about missions on Kobol. He watched the bullets pass through the man yet he never saw the Centurions as he noticed that he almost didn't feel the bullets. His brother talked about how painful it was getting shot yet he only felt it afterwards when the lead cooled inside of him.
Reaching over to his tactical pad, his hand was covered in blood which made it hard to interact with the screen but he sent out the two documents. Looking over at William, he knew there was only one option...destroy this city before whoever gets those Gondawan ships out of the vault.

Reading through the ancient scrolls, Marcus was looking for solutions to safely remove the ships and all he could find is surveys of the interior. The Gondawans built the ships unlike anything he's seen yet one ship stood out, the Galleon, a vessel that is over a thousand years old. The ship looked nothing like the scriptures which meant they had must've added upon it...still this ship was historical. The scriptures were true, the stories and even first exodus was true which could mean more was hidden on Kobol. Turning around as his guests were forced to stand, weapons and tactical gear pulled away as he looked over the two men. Patting Jack in one of his wounds, surprised that two Generals would be here yet he knew there was more on the surface; "I should thank the both of you...oh your brother. Shit, sometimes, I feel like he works for me. Calling out for his wife," laughing as he leaned on Jack, "do you know what that is? It's the frakkin Galleo! The ship that originally left Kobol with the 13th tribe...Alex always told the story but it's the ship!"

Feeling the blood pour down his clothes, he knew about the history of the Galleon and even had teams that were going to look for the ancient construction yards. Looking at the massive ship before down at his destroyed tactical pad, feeling Marcus digging into his wound; "It's only a mere relic but if you want the Galleon then I can give it to you," feeling pools of blood in his boots, "I must give you props on the ability to open the vault."
Fighting to stay conscious, he knew that his teams had infiltrated the city especially with the morse code light on his tactical pad as he applied pressure to a wound. He knew he wasn't going to leave here...maybe he knew that since stepping onto the elevator as he spoke sternly; "Gondawans taught us a little trick which you'll learn. That little tingly feeling you're getting in the base of your frakkin skull is you being disconnected from the Cylon Network. You're not coming back from this, asshole."

Surprised, Marcus kicked the man to his knees as his calm demeanor went to pure rage for he knew something didn't feel right; "RESTORE THE GOD DAMN CONNECTION! You, Terrans, think your god damn smarter than everyone else but it's time you all join the Colonials in defeat." Grabbing Jacks pistol, he could hear fighting in the lobby which meant the asshole was distracting him but knew his Centurions would prevail; "Just can't," turning around to see the both of the men gone.

Waiting for Marcus to turn his back, they both seemed to have the same idea as they walked off to stairs leading down and began walking to secondary controls. Unlocking the doors, William help set down Jack as he covered the man's wounds with medical foam before remotely closing the massive vault doors and locking down the console. Helping Jack up, they approached the center console as they inserted they're keys before putting the self-destruct at five minutes. He knew Jack would have difficulty in making it to the elevator but they would have to leave together or not at all. Taking a deep breath, he noticed Jack taking a seat as pool settled around him; "Don't give up...you're wife will kill me if you don't return."

Taking a seat, Jack watched while William contained the situation while he tried to hold on till they could arm the explosives yet he knew he wasn't leaving. Dropping down, Jack didn't have the strength to stay standing or even awake as he drifted in and out; "Just go. Either I'm dying here or the elevator," resting his head against the wall.
Sitting in his blood, he knew he had already lost too much blood but dying here felt right...dying with Terra's last major secret.
Closing his eyes, he had heard stories of this place as a child but the SFD seemed to help hone in his skills. He lived in secrets, secret marriage and even now his death would be buried with the fact that a Cylon had figured out the last secret of Kobol.

William had known Jack for a long time but seeing him die was different.
Dragging the man to one of the hibernation tub as he placed the man in the water which froze him and would protect the body till he can be properly buried. Stepping into the single person lift, he strapped in as it shot him to the surface with the charges starting to detonate.
Chunks of the city began to explode with the walls detonated to cover the vault as well as the tower detonating. The feet of rocks shattered with massive chunks of rock dropping down into the hole with the anti-gravity generators going offline and suddenly dropping the ships. A thousand year old ships detonating, destroying themselves and the vault interior which left just an empty room.
Atlantis, a city built with a secret was now a tomb to store the single thought that they almost lost control.

Marcus could hear the crackling. The charges had detonated and he had nowhere to go...everything he had worked towards was now gone. The soldiers had defeated his Centurions and found a place to hide while the place crumbled around him. Yelling in pure anger, Marcus met his end with a chunk of rocks that had fallen on him which still left him unsure of resurrection.
