Picon

Glancing over the rifle, Michael opened up one of the massive cases as he pulled out one of most protective suits that the Piconians had and for his men it would offer greater protection then the Terran version of light armor. Suiting up, most of his combat gear had been moved into lighter pouches which meant no more lugging around one big pack full of everything. Holstering his pistol, he clipped on his shotgun to his back before picking up the Picon assault rifle as he slipped on the helmet with the rebreather ready. Picking up the nearly empty pack, he ordered his men into the raptors as he secured his tactical pad to his forearm as he set it to silent mode before turning to Romo; "Going to Aquaris first since word is the General will be sending half a million troops to secure the Colony," securing his gloves before starting over to the raptor, "good luck, Romo, your going to need it," climbing into the raptor as it prepared to take off from the airbase.

Picon

Arriving back on Picon, the shuttle took off once more to head back to Caprica where the city had begun drawing attention of the other Colonies on how quickly it bounced back. Picon was still rebuilding with her armies taking control of the surface and also building the largest memorial for the former Fleet HQ before starting work on a new one. Romo knew his time with the Terran SF's would make him valuable especially since Picon would be looking for someone to aid them in protecting the Colonies which Terra could do especially now. Saluting the Marines who were saluting him as he walked through the rebuilt spaceport, it wasn't long till he was greeted by his new Commanders who were appointed by the Picon Council; a Council that is trying to provide order for the Colonies and one day protection since Scorpia is also part of the Council.
Walking into a room that appeared to be a conference room, one of the newly appointed Generals spoke up in a Scorpia tongue; "Welcome back, Colonel, so can you brief us on the Terrans and their threat in the sum of things?"
Taking a seat, Romo set his bag down onto the table as he leaned back in the chair briefly; "The Terrans are our 13th Colony brothers thus they've never had to deal with the same threat as us so with that said, they're military force is quite impressive. Almost a year ago, the Special Forces Command which is the head of their more celestial forces went to Caprica and set it up for the most impressive city in the Colonies and its defenses can stand up to another Cylon siege. Even at half power, they're at Tauron to replicate the results," pausing briefly, "my professional opinion, we might as well join the Terrans and show that they're not bad. They're our best way of uniting the Colonies and one day win the war against the Cylons."
Impressed, the General turned back to the Colonel as he nodded to another General; "We'll present your official report to the Council but in the mean time, you'll be going to Tauron with 50,000 Marines to aid the Terrans in rebuilding the Tauron capital. Maybe over time once the city is re-established then we can aid in setting up a police force but for now follow the rules of engagement and good luck, Colonel."
Nodding, Romo got up, deep down he was hoping to spend more time on Picon yet that was never going to happen. Grabbing his bag as he got up from the chair, shaking the General's hand as he headed back out to the runway where a frigate was waiting to take him to Tauron to provide a Colonial voice to the Tauron people.

Standing on the old Colonial Fleet Headquarters, Ramsey had done what his Cylon allies couldn't do which was to crush the last of the resistance on Picon. Using Basestars to distract the Colonials, the General and his 10,000 SF's had landed and killed the last of the Picon leadership leaving only enlisted men to get wiped out by the Cylons once more and he didn't care. The Cylons had the cure to a biological virus that the Spartans unleashed on the Gondawans and now he was going to get the cure even though he solidified his position in hell yet he would do it again. The SFC would do anything for their allies yet watching Picon burn was gratifying since most of the resistance was bedded here now he just had to extend their presence across the Colonies and crush the resistance on Caprica and Tauron.
Stepping on board the raptor, the last of his SF's entered with him, all of them drenched in blood from their hand to hand combat with the Picons; each of them believing they had done the right thing.

The pilots were brilliant for they jumped into the atmosphere and stayed quite to keep the Cylon patrols from spotting them, there was thousands of raiders flying in the atmosphere which meant there had to be millions of troops on the ground and maybe even an SF company. Covering up the raptors with branches and camo that would make the area appeared to be just trees which worked since no one could tell without flying lower to investigate; loading up on the spare gear as he noticed snowflakes in the wind which meant it was winter. Picon winters were something fierce, in the past he took shelter at the old Fleet HQ just to keep the icy hail from killing him. Ordering everyone to move out, they had to leave for the town of Queen's Bay which was 20 miles from here and was a coastal city which was once home to the 415th Infantry which was once the backbone of Picon's defense force with that said he could only hope a substantial force survived.
The forest connected to the city so it was the perfect cover for them but they got a few glimpses on the SF camp just outside the city and with the symbol on the camp it was Echo Company which was ruthless considering they had rotting Picon soldiers just outside their camp. Ordering a sniper with a recon officer to keep an eye on them while everyone else continued to the city which for now appeared to be dead on the surface; shell casings everywhere from the fighting but the bodies must've been dragged into the field. Making it to the old armory which appeared to be forced open and looted, Romo and his SF's began making camp inside the massive vault and knew once camp was made that they could began expanding outward to search for any survivors of the 415th Infantry.

Making it to the old armory which appeared to be forced open and looted, Romo and his SF's began making camp inside the massive vault and knew once camp was made that they could began expanding outward to search for any survivors of the 415th Infantry. Securing all but one entrances with trip lines and stun grenades, Victor ran back to the armory as computers were setup to begin communicating back to Caprica and eventually Scorpia once Jack and Samuel setup the long range radio. Looking over the holographic map of the city, Victor turned to Romo as he grabbed a few mags as well as a thicker jacket to handle the cold longer; "This is going to be a building by building search but we can only do so many in a day before coming back here," pausing as he turned to Romo and the men, "Cylon patrols actively patrol at night so we can expect the same here so if you can't get back here then find a place to hide for the night," Victor felt like he's grown up some. The General molded him a bit on Tauron and he's caught on with Michael on Terra which has forced him to think differently then he would've a year ago, he's much more of a leader now even though his rank only gave him lead over the enlisted. Turning to a small team of men that had assembled before peering over at Romo, "After you, sir, we'll follow and provide support," following Romo out of the underground armory and onto the surface as they began the work on searching the outlining buildings first in hopes of finding survivors.

Staying close to the buildings, he noticed some movement that reminded him of Picon Commandos, men who constantly worked in shadows; ordering Victor to move forward as he ran to the next building. Boot prints were consistent which meant the last Commanders probably activated the Commando protocol to protect Picon and as the last Commander, this would be his army; the Commandos were just as well trained as the SF's but by now knew SF tactics. Jogging to their last position, Romo saw the sun coming up which meant the Commandos were in the building; rushing in with Victor behind him as he switched to secure Picon channels. Speaking softly as he began checking his corners, he kept it to a near whisper encase enemy SF's were around; "I'm Colonel Romo Shepard, member of the old military, I came home to raise an army for Caprica. I know there are Commandos here so reveal yourselves and together we can repel the enemy."
Hearing a voice over the radio, it was obviously the Captain of the Commandos and from the sound of it he wasn't too far away; "Colonel, if we reveal ourselves then what assurances are there that the SF's you have with you won't turn on us?"
He knew the Picon officers were wary of the SF's but he had to slow a sign of good faith as he order Victor and those with them to drop their weapons, "They are allies and now unarmed so reveal yourselves," within seconds Commandos emerged from the walls and ceilings, hundreds in that single building and hundreds more in the surrounding buildings; this was their hunting ground.

Dropping his rifle, Victor watched while the Commandos came out around him as he turned to Romo; "So we have an army but I take it we're just not going back to Caprica," picking up his rifle as he pulled out the magazine to show it to the Commando. Hearing chaos outside, Victor looked outside as he saw 4 Centurions who were dodging fire from his SF's and killing them with the swords; swords that were clearly SF by design. Pulling out his swords, Victor had been trained how to fight multiple enemies but these Centurions were just as fast as Alphas thus he had to fight like his Gondawan masters taught him even his mentors which meant him and those SF's around him had to take down 4 Centurions. Hearing the Centurions walking into the building while the Commandos began rushing to the roof as the emergency beacon on Romo has been hit but they weren't ready to leave the colony only the city; looking down the hall to see the Centurions standing there with swords in hand. Spinning his swords in hand before clashing with the first Centurion, every attack was countered vise versa which meant playing by the book wasn't going to work at all finally getting his swords into the Centurion but not before the Centurion stabbed him in the shoulder; cutting off its head as he noticed a timer starting. The Centurions had a self destruct, grabbing his rifle and swords as he ordered his men to retreat while he sprinted to the roof and soon onto the wing of the raptor; looking back to see the massive explosion that took out the other three Centurions as well as the building. Tapping his radio, right away he knew those soldiers that were in the old armory were dead and their radio was now in Cylon hands; getting off world was going to be a bit tougher than even he thought.

Amassing a force of thousands of Commandos, they had to lure the SF's into an area that they had been rigging up for an attack and using past experience they knew the Centurions would be taken out with an EMP which they found one buried in the base and now they buried it in the middle of the battlefield. The raptors they had were on standby, Romo had Victor run out with a small squad and lure the enemy into their trap; once they took out all the opposition then Picon would be in a better position to help Caprica thus Terra in the long run then stay under opposing rule.

Weeks of hit and run attacks, they had been decimating Centurion and SF Companies but now was the time to lead them into the last battle where Romo and the Commandos had setup the perfect trap. They had been on the run for days, leading them into the forest, dispersing as the enemy began spreading out in an attempt to find them; moving into position as the Commandos detonated the EMP bomb before opening fire onto the enemy. Weeks and months of fighting was slimmed down to here minutes, the enemy was like fish in a barrel, soon they were dead and information began to pour in from the raptors. Caprica was hit hard and the war had moved to Tauron, turning to Romo as he climbed onto the shuttle; "We need to help them after all if we commit Picon forces to Tauron then they won't be able to launch a counter attack for a very long time," noticing the man nodding as he sent a message ahead to Tauron; informing them that reinforcements were inbound. Gathering his gear, he had been on Picon for a while and oddly enough he was going to miss it after all this place reminded him of home so much; now, they were going to go to the desert to fight a force that was built for pure defense.

Picon is all but rebuilt with the new cities being built beside the old nuked cities but the Cylon issue has become mere skirmishes. The southern provinces were in charge of building new Battlestars.
Sitting in his new office, Romo got promoted to the rank of a three star general with Expeditionary Forces under his command. Reviewing high definition pictures from Kobol, there was sites that had the old symbol pre-Colonial articles. With Terrans moving to this holy ground, they had been shipping supplies to them and even helping to rebuild their old defense grid the Terrans had sent technologies they needed.
