Surveying the grounds, there was a lot of ambition put behind this world but it had been quite sometime since they have seen anyone. Named for Terran heaven, Avalon has been good to Anthony and his squad but still rather quiet given the promise that never happened. So where did everyone go? Kobol. A planet covered in forests and ruins as well as damned by the gods while a mere hundred thousand rebuilt here. No major cities but villages with most of the military either in orbit or underground but yet this training ground stands but mostly overgrown. Trees sprouting in the firing range, grasses in the low crawl area and wildlife living in the rafts for aquatic training.
Climbing down from the watchtower, there was no dangers here not even from the Cylons yet they are prepared. The massive space station with built in yards and defenses to rival even the Cylon Colony and even new fighters...still his squad endured in his forest ACU and his G36C on his back. On his shoulder, his SF Alpha tag with the Avalon Flag, his team were mostly members of an experimental squad that were as good as the first batch. Picking up his black sunglasses, he moved through the tall grasses only to descend into the real proving grounds underground where his squad was practicing against paper targets.

Watching Dare walk down, Phantom momentarily stopped the extensive cleaning of his HTI that fired the dedicated .50 caliber round in a five round magazine. The rifle was anti material which was optimal against Centurions considering one shot tears them in two. Finishing off a urban camouflage on the stock, the likelihood of actually using it in combat...well if they ever faced an opponent. The stock had tick marks from his time before the squad though with only ten confirmed kills but as well as four skinjob kills.
Reattaching the barrel, muzzle and under barrel attachments, Phantom only kept his scope on as he chambered a round. Firing a round to ensure he put it all together, Phantom spoke while the rest of them ceased fire to pick up the casings; "Any news from Terra?"
News from Terra was rare and knew if anything that it wouldn't come as a surprise since everyone forgot about Avalon. Though, this posting had its upside considering they didn't get roped in some hopeless cause on Kobol.

Pulling the bolt as well as ejecting the magazine, Kat remembered when they had a sixth but spending years here well got to him. Getting up from the mat, she picked up her M110 only to place it in the table to join for the brass collecting. A cubit for every pound of brass only to have them melted down and reformed into new brass with lead as well as uranium rounds. Uranium for the Centurions and the Raiders...if they ever make it here.
Filling the munitions box, Kat giggled at Phantom's comment considering they were told that the supernovae wave was nearly at the planet. Thousands of years of history wiped away and for her this was her new home though rebuilding the population would take time.

Collecting shells, Nick had his tactical pad secured to this forearm but with no connection to the orbital grid he used it for his drones which could both expand their scope of the battlefield. Small icons for armed quad choppers, tumbler drones and even high altitude drones that were armed with advance air-to-air and guided bombs if the occasion arises. It had taken him weeks to months to setup a high altitude drone network to protect the thirty settlements as well as the hidden military bunkers they use during their retreats.
Pulling the sack off of his M249, he kept the rifle much the same to how he got it from the Terran armories. Simple 4x scope with a fore grip, laser targeting laser with a suppressor that he used even in training. Calling over the cart, he pulled out a few ammunition boxes from the cart to refill the sacks as he noticed a message from Terra but it was far too corrupted to view. Placing the message in and encoder, Mad Dog wondered what was so important that Terra risked frying the Deep Space Network.

Walking to the back of the range, Dare opened the ice chest to pull out a dark blue liquid in a clear bottle. Removing the write sticker over the lid, the liquid had came with them in massive containers and simply told them to drink one daily. Now the contents of the drink was unknown to him but they effects had a long lasting effect through their lack of usage of device such as night vision and thermal. Even more, the fluid helped their muscles and prolonged their hunger though this was useful when they originally landed. The taste was revolting but he had grown used to the taste as he downed the 12oz bottle. Setting it aside in the recycling container, Dare could feel it taking affect before turning to Phantom who came up for his daily dose; "Get them ready for patrol and recall Wild Ace."
They had a job to do even though there was nothing here that could hurt most of them but the villages enjoyed seeing them. Even more, gave them a chance to breath real oxygen and less of this reproduced stuff that leaves a bad taste in his throat.

Setting it aside in the recycling container, Dare could feel it taking affect before turning to Phantom who came up for his daily dose; "Get them ready for patrol and recall Wild Ace."
Opening the chest for his drink, Phantom downed his bottle while listening to Dare though he was right. Supplies had came in for Settlement Ten in the mountains and they knew if the only path through that region considering they initially carved it. Recalling Wild Ace was a new move especially given his partner Dax had killed himself months ago. His death was the reason they had opted to group together to ensure that they stay alive. The loss of one put more weight on the whole and had forced him and Dare to make tough decisions. Only nodding to this brother, he tossed the empty bottle aside while sending recall orders via his tactical pad before turning to Mad Dog; "Need help gathering this gear onto the sled."
The sled was quite simple with just a trailer for either pulled by horse and could carry anything that was compact but it was the first thing they built upon landing. Carrying the majority of their gear, the sled made their patrols easier and even now facilitated trade with SF protection.

Falling till they reach 10,000 feet, the space suit broke away and the parachutes deployed with the both of them gliding to the ground. Cutting his chute over the treeline, Wild Ace tumbled to the ground but not too far from his pod. The cuts on his forearms healed as he touched the ground which left cuts on his jacket but he was used to this. Reaching the pod, he began pulling his gear but seemed like this time a pistol magazine had fallen from his thigh. He knew one of the villages would find it and return it on their route since SFs carry charcoal tinted brass to keep separate from local hunters. Tearing down the pad and marking it for retrieval, Wild Ace started his walk to Viking while his tactical pad connected with the squad; "Whiskey Alpha reporting in. Received our sixth, Viking, are we clear to enter?"
Receiving a message from Dare, the area was clear with the minefield disarmed though they were interested by the sixth member considering this was last minute. The Alpha Alpha program only had six participants so whatever member joined would have to keep up with them.

Exhilarating. He had skydived plenty in the old wars but never from orbit and landing in a small pond was refreshing. Climbing out of the water, this planet reminded him of Terra but it felt a bit brighter here as his A.I adjusted his eyes to get rid of the blurry vision. Water drizzled off his gear but he had followed his pod to the ground for quick retrieval. His rucksack rested on his back with his covered M107 while he carried his M14 though he kept the majority of his gear in the sack considering the Base Commander had briefed him on the situation. Avalon was relatively calm though there are some who want back in the fight...settlement fifteen filled with veterans who want back in the fight.
Meeting up with Wild Ace, his partner was a bit younger than his nephews that he knows have taken up the mantle of serving. Stepping out of the shadow of the trees, the training ground had a great view of the distant mountains as he put on his sunglasses. Good place to retire though he knew this new Commander would want to use him a lot considering the disgruntle colonist.

Watching the two men approach the grounds, Dare had a bit of time to read Viking's personnel file sent down from the station and it was an interesting read. Taking a seat on the old wooden table, Dare looked over Viking as he set the tactical pad down; "I know of your nephew and the A.I program he was in but to be an experimental is something else," taking off his jacket to reveal the many injection points that further enabled his A.I. When the Alpha Alpha program started, they were embedded with new technology to make them far superior then the First Gen. Watching the man stand before him, Dare continued his brief to the man now that his point has been established; "No ranks here just nicknames and keep your eyes on the squad for there may not be Cylons here but the wildlife might take a stab at us," getting down before sliding over a countdown timer, "one hour. Carry only what you need for there is no room on the sled."
Heading back underground, Dare still had to get ready while the bots prepared his uniforms considering they were to travel through three environments. This trade was vital considering they were carrying prefab units as well as parts some of the settlements needed for some time. Gathering this towel and gear, he headed for the shower while Viking met Phantom who kept the team balanced.

Securing the Clydesdales to the sled, this was going to be a productive trip with modular housing for Settlement Fifteen and good from the station for the other Settlements. Packing their Alpine gear onto the horses, he lifted the platform to the surface while changing into his forest ACUs. Glancing over at Viking, he noticed that the man was older than them but his A.I could sense theirs. Even more, Thrax's have a reputation of warriors with Michael Thrax fighting in the old and current war. Unpacking his DSR-1, the rifle is easier to move through the brush than his HTI but that rifle was packed into the sled with a reinforced compartment to hold their drinks considering they needed a daily dose. Pulling on his vest, he tucked his ten round magazines into his pockets before attaching the rifle to his chest. Slipping on his sunglasses, Phantom turned to Viking and now Kat for they would be the advance scouts; "Kat and Viking, always stay ahead of the convoy and remember to check on regularly."
Spotting a nod, Phantom returned to the horses with Wild Ace who had secured reigns to the horses with the neural interfaces. The interface meant the horses would walk in tandem with them but could communicate if the load became unstable so they can act.

Slipping on his sunglasses, Phantom turned to Viking and now Kat for they would be the advance scouts; "Kat and Viking, always stay ahead of the convoy and remember to check on regularly."
Nodding to Phantom, Kat was used to running scout for these trips considering Settlement 14 & 15 were quite aggressive than the other Settlements. Lifting her mesh face mask, her eyes tinted to a dark blue while she started to sprint down the path with Viking behind her but not missing a step. The wood line around them had been laid down quite often with each trade trip but she could tell that someone else had ventured down her path. Pulling out her digital shades, she could see trip lines and sensors to track them which is far different than previous trade cycles. Signaling Viking to keep his eyes open, Kat connected with the sensors as she got a central hub location but knew no one was there. Pulling the sensor from the tree, she knew of experts in Settlement Three that could break it down and help her find those who are tracking them.

Changing into a fresh uniform, Mad Dog slipped on a new vest with a sack clipped on the back containing synthetic blood, medical kit and a spare knife. Rarely, he had ever need to use the sack but these trips were filled with uncertainty. Screwing on his pack clips as additional support to the standard ones, he knew the bots had filled his pack to the brim with belts of bullets, gear, spare carbine and magazines even more additional uniforms and food. Getting help to clip his heavy pack on, Mad Dog made the quick trip to his weapons locker to pull out his suppressed MP7 with additional magazines. Tucking it into his hip holster, he would be heavily armed considering the rumors coming from Settlement Fifteen. Applying a cover to his hip holster, Mad Dog attached his skid pads and soon his armor pads to his boots as he picked up his M249.
Loading a sack, he started up the stairs where Phantom and Wild Ace waited for them. The scouts have been sent but walking with this gear always put them in danger. Settling his gear, Mad Dog slipped on his mesh face mask to hide his face while his eyes too tinted to protect against the sunlight while putting on his hat backwards.

Setting out the majority of his gear, Dare slipped on his double holsters with his suppressed MP7 from his previous life that he settled on his left side with a leather cover to protect against the rain and snow. Packing his .38 pistol on his right side with a suppressor and four magazines with this side covered by a leather cover and a pack containing spare magazines. Attaching his medical kit to his left side before attaching his pack with his covered M110 that sat comfortably alongside 5 magazines with one loaded.
Turning his attention to the gun cabinet, he pulled out his M4A1 that has a 4x scope, suppressor as well as a targeting laser. Securing the stock strap to his vest, Dare started his walk to the surface as the base locked down to ensure no one tampers with it. Putting on his mesh face mask, even though his eyes have tinted he still slipped on his wrap around sunglasses and signaled Wild Ace to start walking. Placing the covered rifle on the side of the sled, he joined up with Mad Dog but knew this was going to be an interesting trip.
