The Ferranti and her group had arrived at Kobol first, but only by several minutes. Soon, the other groups were arriving. Not surprisingly, the enhanced FTL's were more enhanced than the government had been letting on. What should have taken about a year took mere weeks. At this rate, the ships could complete a turn around and make many more trips than originally planned. For now, they would hold in orbit until the raptors had landed with the advanced party. As much as the folks in charge back home would have everyone believe this was a mission of love and peace and holding hands, Marla knew better. Sitting there out of the way on the Bridge, she thought about her mission. As long as everyone involved played nice, then her job was easy.
She knew though from years of experience that her job was never an easy one.

Makil was on the Bridge of the Ferranti when he heard the message come across the speakers. Being Ha'La Tha meant he was here to see where the organization could fit in but he was also a member of this crew. Keying the comm link on his headset, he replied to the surface team.
"This is the Terran Freighter Ferranti, sending authorization code now. We have LZ identified, will land once our advance teams have arrived. be advised there are ten ships in our group and the other four groups are arriving as we speak. Will await landing of vessels until such time as it is safe to land all ships, Ferranti out."
Looking at the Terran operative, he nodded.
"We'll we made it and much sooner than planned."
turning to the Captain, he spoke.
"Your orders ma'am."
The middle-aged Tauron woman sat there, looking at her console. Sitting upright, she gave the order.
"Notify all ships, stand by until further notice, launch your advance teams and report to the authorities on the surface. Once the LZ is completely set up, we'll land by the numbers."
"Yes Captain. All ships, this is Ferranti, stand by until further notice, launch all advance teams and await orders from surface command, Ferranti out."

Jera Killian, Civilian (NPC)
This was her first time ever landing a raptor on an unknown planet let alone being the lead pilot in a group of fifteen raptors and shuttles. Her orders were simple: land, wait for her passengers to disembark and unload the supplies, then hurriedly return to the Ferranti to repeat the process. It would be an exhausting day and a very long one. So far, nobody had adjusted the clocks so they were still operating on a terran day of 30 hours. She looked back at her cargo, ten people, mostly engineers and botanists but it was the one single woman in the bunch that had caught her attention the moment she had stepped into the raptor. The fact she was carrying a sidearm did not concern her, it was the way she carried herself. She was quiet and distant, her mind elsewhere. She also had that look of someone who definitely knew how to handle not only herself but those around her. They were entering the atmosphere and it was a bumpy ride. Within a few minutes they had cleared the cloud cover and were looking at a large landmass below them. Veering to the right, she made her course for the LZ and the settlement there. Keying the comm link, she called down to whoever was listening on the surface.
"Kobol Control, this is Raptor five five five, we are inbound and requesting clearance for surface landing. We are carrying engineers and botanists as well as supplies. There are fifteen ships in our group and there are additional groups coming in behind us, over."

Listing of ships that had previously arrived at Kobol in the first group:
Large Freighter Ferranti (Captain Lerner is in overall command of the ships)
Battlecruisers Athena and Leviathan, Gunstar Pollux, repair Ship Orion and the Hospital Ship Solace
10 Container cargo ships, all auto navigation set to follow the Ferranti. Normally each ship carries 57 crew who handle the ships functions and cargo loading/offloading. Thee crew are kept on the Ferranti until the group arrives at Kobol where they will go to their ships and begin cargo operations.
These container ships are large cargo ships that essentially carry 5000 multimodal cargo containers. The ships are atmospheric capable so they will land on the surface where the cargo containers are off loaded. The ships then return to orbit and prepare for the return journey to Terra. Due to their size, the ships must land in an area large enough to accommodate them.
These containers are carrying food, medial supplies and equipment, personal comfort items, building materials, tools, machinery, generators, etc;
They are not carrying any personnel.

Jasmine sat in the raptor, looking out the window as the surface of the planet came into better view. She had been asked to volunteer for this mission many months ago and she was already regretting it. She wasn't a space jockey, she was a ground pounder. She hated flying, she definitely hated space and she anxiously waited for this infernal flying machine to finally get to solid ground. The pilot motioned fifteen more minutes. Fifteen more minutes of being thrown around what amounted to a tin can with flashing lights. She was glad she didn't eat breakfast. She really wished the young Marine across from her had done the same. Puking all over his uniform was not something she wished to have embedded into her brain.

Having his eyes covered, Gabriel could hear them go through a checklist as he drifted in and out of sleep. He could never sleep in Raptors or even the transports between the Colonies. It didn't help that Chris kept falling down from the hammock but he had threatened him a short while ago about falling out again. Feeling the bump of the atmosphere, the pilots seemed to have compensated for the EM radiation as the secondary engine kicked on as they passed through the cloud cover.
Carefully unwrapping his eyes, he slipped on his shades to peer outside to see the lush green forests with the city in the distance. Massive skyscrapers that nearly touched the sky as they flew between them to a base in the center of the city. Seems like the Terrans were rebuilding faster than the Colonies in comparison but he could see some Tauron influence.

Watching his SUV get securely connected to a landing sled, the trucks around him were being loaded with crates filled with essential supplies and the makings of a proper base. Instead of early hangars, the base would be made of collapsible buildings that would be secured on the ice. The landing area had been pinpointed by the satellites and they could further flatten with water but the massive ships couldn't stand against the cold longer than 17 hours. Everything had to be moved from the deck and out on wheels with science teams with them to run experiments. Zipping up his jacket, Lucius sat down on the weapon cases as he looked over the manifest of the other ships and knew the civilians coming were taking a risk coming here. Maybe the risks are countered by the rewards which according to the SAR team the rewards were high. They've been on the planet for 7 months finding just stone buildings and bunkers but there was a rocket and extensive bunker. Leaning back, Lucius drifted asleep since artic operations would be both stressful and tedious even for him. Attachments:

Working out, Oliver was watching from the distance while they tore out his back seat to put in a cargo net with massive tons of smaller crates filled with cooking components. He was also getting communication drones which meant soon the artic would have wireless internet and communications better than the mainland. Completing another pull up, Oliver knew Lucius worried about the civvies but everyone got the brief and knew to be extremely careful and don't deviate from the security teams. Dropping down, he threw back on his shirt as he dropped down into his pulled out seats as he cracked open the cooler for a cold water. This was a luxury for now but once in the artic, it'd be bladders and crisp water followed by boiling ice to refill what they have. Even the SAR team set down the ground work for them with points they should be careful about.

"Hey, take it easy," yelling at the engineers who were removing all the seats except her driver's seat. Sitting on a crate in front of her Mini, she watched them mount a tablet with a massive ice box in the back to hold 7 foot ice cores. Unlike elsewhere on the planet, the ice holds a complete record to the point where the original exodus and maybe finally reveal some of those secrets.
She was getting a collapsible drill and still had a massive booklet to read up on the drill and how to read the time periods. Even more, she knew these cores would be studied by the researchers but she also had to contend with the wilderness.

Suddenly a Cylon Star settles in above the City. One brief FLASH of light then nothing more detected. The Star is cloaked until it dispenses either craft or weapons. For now it just sits there, watching, waiting ........... Cloaked Lexi gave the command to the Raiders and the Centurions manning the weapons "PHASE TWO BEGINS NOW" For a brief few seconds the Star is visible in the sky above Kobol as it fires off a barrage of missiles aimed at the structures on the ground. Targeting the Power Grid first, then the Government Buildings and Communications Relays. Then as quickly as the Star appeared it disappears from view but the missiles have been launched and are streaming toward the targets they have been assigned to take out.

Maia is monitoring the damage assessment and reports to the Commander. "Damage is significant all over Kobol, Commander. Shall I send down the Raiders now?" Maia had her hand on the execute button waiting for permission before she sent them.

Noticing the Star appearing on Lidar, he picked up the phone as her called Kobol station with new coordinates. Even seeing it disappear once more, he knew the Star was still there as he spoke to the station Commander; "Begin charging the energy cannon, maximum yield on coordinates 70°N 124°W 22°E compensate for drift. Prepare for multiple shots," setting the phone aside as the Picon Raptors began taking off with dumb missiles ready.
