The advanced mini raptor jumped into the atmo and the pilot flew over the area looking things over. It was beautiful. He had to agree with his Dad on that. He made a couple of passes and then brought the little bird in for a soft touch down. This was a new ship. Not seen by anyone before. He had advanced technology from the BCR and his Uncle Jack. The pilot smiled as he thought about Uncle Jack. "man he'd be so proud of me. Makin it all the way here by myself." the pilot turned off the engine and let the mini raptor quiet down as he unbuckled his harness and slipped his arms out. He took off his leather flying gloves and stowed them on the dash area. Running a hand over his rather long, blonde hair he bent over as he moved to the ramp area. Though it was high enough for most folks he was tall like his Dad and had to bend over just a little bit to get in and out of the thing. He pushed the button and the ramp lowered down landing on the soft green pasture below. He made his way down the ramp and just stood looking around. He took a deep deep breath of fresh air. He had heard of Terra and now he was here to live. Not affiliated with either the colonials or the cylons he planned to make his own way in this world. He'd had some good training in his lifetime and even though he was young, he was wise beyond his years. His Dad had seen to that. He closed down the canopy and lifted up the ramp to secure the mini raptor and then walked down to the creek to get a sip of water. The water was crystal clear and cold as you could hope for. He scooped up a handful as he knelt down next to the stream. Wiping his lips with the back of his hand he looked at the cabin. He'd have a lot to do in there he supposed. His long legs made a quick trip of the pasture to reach the cabin and he pushed open the front door. The place was deserted just like he knew it would be and it could sure use the windows and doors being opened. He pushed up on the windows and it moaned and creeked but finally gave in and raised up. He grabbed the little stick to prop it open and then began to look around his new home. Remembering all the stories his Dad and Uncle Jack used to tell him when he was little he had to smile. He opened up the upper cabinet and looked far to the back. Yep, there it was. The last bottle of Cylon Whiskey that his Dad had stashed. He smiled and closed the cabinet door as he remembered his folks.

Once he got the cabin airing out he walked back to the mini raptor for his supplies. It was only a two seater but he had made good use of the storage that the little ship had in it. He held his hand over the reader, a security device so no one else can get inside it, and the mini raptor opened up the ramp and the canopy lifted so he could get inside. Grabbing up his gloves he slid them on and then carefully sat down on the ramp so he could open up the storage area where he had his power source stored. The cabin didn't have a genny so he had to bring his own power in. He unhinged the lid and flipped it open. Inside were the crystals. He brought them from his home world and they were so far advanced of anything Terra had that it was almost laughable. Known as BroCoLyte and mined on his home world. These crystals could and did power anything and everything a person could want to put power to. They never depleted. He had never heard of one failing to perform and his Uncle Jack had made sure he brought enough crystals with him to power up his entire empire here. His ship used these crystals to fly him here for one thing and now he planned to retrofit the cabin and whatever machinery his Dad had left here with them. Sure, it will take some ingenuity but he was smart. Being a Hybrid not only did he have his Mother's technological advantages he had her super strength as well. Uncle Jack had shown him how to make these crystals adaptable to about every situation he thought Clint might encounter. And Uncle Jack would know as he used to be in this area long long ago. He closed the lid on the storage area and relocked it. He put part of the crystals into his bag and then slung it over his left shoulder. He reached for his food source and held it in his left hand as he walked hunched over down the ramp and closed down the canopy and the ramp raised all with the push of a button.

Elea's father stopped by and dropped off an order for a half centaur of BroCoLyte, leaving full payment authorization upon delivery in cubits.
Clint, Sorry I missed you. I was hoping for a game of Pyramid with you. I brought some great home brew. I'll leave it out in the shed. Enjoy!

The note from Elea's father had been blown away in a sudden wind gust ..........
After getting the power set up Clint went to the cabin again and decided it was time he got himself cleaned up. Walking into the bathroom he opened the door to the shower and turned on the water. It took a few minutes for the water heater to achieve the right temperature but it finally got hot and Clint stripped down and stepped into the hot stream of water letting it cascade all over his head and shoulders and down his body. He wiped the water out of his eyes and began to soap up. He knew he would have to hustle or run out of water so he made it a quick shower.
Finally he shut off the water and reached for the towel he had brought along from his home world. He hadn't packed a lot but he had brought the necessities along. He let his thoughts wander back to his birth planet. He thought about his Uncle Jack and wondered how he and the rest of his family were doing. He knew his Uncle would want him to be happy here on Terra and he planned to do just that.
Clint had little to worry about. As long as he stayed to himself and minded his own business he'd be fine. His stomach growled at him relentlessly and he knew he'd best get something in it soon. He ruffled his blonde hair dry with the towel and then got some clean clothes from out of his pack and put them on. Jeans that had seen better days but were so damned comfortable he couldn't bear to part with them and besides, he needed his jeans! He grabbed a white t shirt and pulled it over his head and down over his chest. It fit pretty well, a little tight but that just showed off his physique nicely. He was a well built young man and certainly capable of taking care of himself.
Clint went to the kitchen and hunted out a pan. He went to his supplies and got the rest of what he needed to fix a meal and soon the smell of what he was cooking permeated the air in the cabin and wafted out the open window into the meadow. Clint fried up some vegetable similar to potatoes from his home world and threw in some meat that was similar to sausage and some herbs he had brought along. He sure wished he'd been smart and thought ahead to make some tea. Oh well, that'll be next on my agenda he thought as he flipped the vegetables and meat in the pan.

Clint noticed the weather was turning colder. He thought about the coming winter and decided it was probably time to get some firewood for the fireplace so he went to the closet and looked around. Inside he found one of his Dad's old coats and pulled it on. It was a little big but not bad. He went outside and headed for the barn to look for something to cut some wood with. His Dad would probably have an axe or something that would work.
The grass crunched under his feet as he walked through the meadow and to the barn. Finally there, he unhooked the lock and pushed the barn door open. He had to put all of his weight behind it but he finally coaxed it open. The barn was a little dark and definitely had the smell of a place not opened for a long time. He hated that musty smell but he went inside. The barn had some interesting stuff for sure.
He went to what looked to be a work bench and saw a lot of various tools. Most of them were stashed neatly but some were left where they were last used apparently. This made him smile. As Clint moved things around looking for an axe he noticed there was a motorcycle against the back wall. This was a surprise! He decided to go look it over and that's when he noticed a large form in the far corner. It was pretty big so he went over and moved the tarp off a little to see what it was.
It looked to be some kind of machine. Clint threw the tarp off and let it float to the side as he revealed an old pickup truck. "This must be the one that Uncle Jack talked about. The one he and Dad used to go hunting in" Clint remembered many stories about this very truck. He had a smile on his face as he reached his right hand out and pressed the door handle. It popped open and Clint peered inside. "Oh man! The key's in it!" Clint was really happy to see that! He slid inside the cab and settled himself behind the wheel. With a little hesitation he held onto the key and turned it slightly. The old truck moaned and groaned and sputtered then died.
"Oh no you don't! Let's try that again!" Clint was talking out loud to this machine now. He turned the key again and this time pressed the gas peddle slightly and the old truck roared to life! He leaned back in the seat with a relief. Clint was a pilot but this thing was different. Not as complicated as a display in the mini raptor. He pulled the gear knob and found first gear as he pressed in the clutch. He popped out the clutch and the truck lurched forward nearly giving him a concussion when he hit the steering wheel with his forehead and then the truck died.
"Damn it!" Clint did it all again but this time he let the clutch out slower and the truck began to creep foward. "Ok this is more like it. Let's go explore" Clint couldn't help but mutter a little to himself as he steered the old beast out of the barn and into the open meadow outside.
He was gonna master this thing if it took him all day to do it.

Clint was shaken awake by the cabin seeming to shiver. Something was happening. He was not sure what but he knew he had to investigate what was shaking the ground and the cabin. Throwing back the covers on the bed he jumped up and quickly slipped his pants on and zipped up. Grabbing socks he pulled them on and looked around for a shirt.
His eyes settling on a soft t shirt laying on the chair and he pulled it over his blonde hair and shook his hair into place. Pushing his big feet into the soft leather boots he pulled them on.
The sun was not up but the horizon had a warm pinkish glow. Now this could be the sun or it could be sign of a fire. Clint was not yet sure. Only smart thing would be to get in the mini raptor and go do a fly over.
He grabbed an old jacket and threw it on then shut the cabin and walked out to the mini raptor. The grass was dry and crunched with every step he took. Clint couldn't help but feel uneasy. Something was definitely not right. He had good instincts and he was uneasy today.

Clint made sure the mini raptor was ready to fly then he pulled the harness over his chest and buckled it up. Pushing the headpiece on over his ears his eyes were already roving the landscape trying to figure out what was going on. The mountain appeared to be glowing and this was not normal.
He pushed the throttle and lifted up off the ground. Clint headed for the darkest red area and planned to just fly over it and see what he could figure out.
He could see a lot of animals running up the mountain and away from the red glow. Animals always know what is dangerous so this got his attention. What could possibly be happening down the mountain? He would have to fly down and see.

The mini raptor flew over the ground high enough for the embers not to bother it. The forest was on fire. Something had to have sparked this cause there had not been a thunderstorm in the area for as long as Clint had been here on the mountain. He pulled the joystick to the left and began another pass over the area. The fire was moving but the wind had gone down considerably so it was not raging like it surely was in the beginning of the fire. Many areas had been burned already and the ground looked scorched to be sure. He was not real sure what to do. The cabin was the only place he knew on this planet.
Fearing that the cabin may be in jeopardy he turned for home. Wishing he was not all alone and that he had made a friend or two he felt pretty isolated way up here. "Well, I will take what I can and maybe find a place down lower on the mountain to build or something." he was at a loss as to his next move and no one around to consult with. He definitely felt alone out here.
The mini raptor made a wide turn and he kept his eyes on the terrain below as he kept his heading for home.

It only took a little bit for the Liadra to break atmosphere and find the little cabin, but finding clint was going to be the challenge since the mini raptor was nowhere in sight. Smoke sat near the hillside, giving the distinct warning signs of an oncoming fire, letting the both of them know that they had to hurry. Though finding the mini raptor would take time, at least the dradis on their ship would simplify it since finding allies quickly was a requirement now that trouble loomed for the BCR back home. luckily this new change only happened recently, and the ships in the fleet were just now starting to change their dradis signatures, so the mini raptor should still appear on dradis quickly. "If you can, see if you can locate him or the ship. I don't trust that fire, no matter how distant it is."

The fighter responded smartly as Jason turned the vessel away from Independence's airspace and towards Terra. The calm blue and green of the planet seemed to remind him of home, which saddened him somewhat. if only the cylons and colonials knew what was coming he thought as he remembered the last trouble home had before he left. His mind then snapped back to the situation at hand as kona asked about his family. he glanced at her and grinned slightly. "they are doing well, just trying to keep home in working order. with the disappearance of play, I kind of wish you were still home. they could use someone like you back home. but then again, with what is being planned, I'm kind of glad you are here instead of there." his grin went a little wider. "I knew what he was doing, though. I only seemed to be failing midway cause I wanted to see if it was you or them that doubted me. If you can, see if you can locate him or the ship. I don't trust that fire, no matter how distant it is." "I sometimes wish I was still on Home World too. I miss your folks a lot. I find it a little humorous how much you are like your Father. He'd be proud of you, oh heck, I KNOW he IS!" She smiled. She did not delve into the comment about what was being planned back home. Another time for that discussion, her son was the only thing on her mind right now as any Mother would be concerned with their child's safety. Kona began scanning the horizon for any sign of something familiar. She felt they were close but the mountain was not safe. And what about that BCR Tech that Jason had warned her of. As her eyes moved up and down the mountain from side to side she asked him without taking her eyes off the land below. "I'm a little concerned about the Tech that you mentioned. If Clint is using that to power his mini raptor" she didn't even want to think of the possibilities "then I guess my biggest concern is how much time do we really have here?" Her mind was playing out a lot of different possible scenes. One in which the fire engulfed the cabin and everything in it. One where Clint's ship blows up with him on board. One where they actually do find him. So many things to consider. She thought she saw the creek below them and ahead "THERE!" She pointed toward the area "That's the creek. Take us in closer, Jason." Her heart began beating faster but they were still a few miles from the cabin so no way to tell if he was there or not. Then she remembered the Dradis "I'm going to switch the Dradis on and we'll see if his signature alerts but keep heading for the creek. The cabins a few miles up the mountainside yet."

coasting alongside the creek, Jason kept his head on a swivel, keeping an eye out for any sign of Clint or the mini raptor as they neared closer and closer to the cabin. Seeing the wooden structure just a little ways up reminded him of a few things his father spoke about when it came to the cabin. something about the good old days or some such that Jason couldn't remember. His thoughts were briefly distracted, however, when Kona's concern for Clint hit about the BroCoLyte. It was a legitimate concern, and one Jason knew he would have to quell soon. Perhaps now is as good a time as any, he thought as he turned his gaze to the spot she earlier pointed out for a landing spot. "The tech is actually material discovered back home. only specific machinery was designed to manipulate it to its fullest potential without causing disaster. if there haven't been any unexplained catastrophic destruction on terra so far, its only cause clint hasn't tried to test the material's limits. without pushing its limits, however, it is only capable of powering small locations and objects, such as one ship, or a cabin. pushed, you can power a battlestar and its fighter compliment with the amount clint took with him." he looked a little worried, "also the material has a few violent tendencies. improper handling of the material when transferring it can be fatal. and it is rather volatile when hit with a strong and fast enough force. There is still much we have yet to learn about this material. BroCoLyte as some have called it."
When the fighter pulled in close to the cabin, finding no one there was disconcerting. The cabin showed signs of recent use, and even scorch marks on the grass indicated that the mini raptor had landed there a few times. "any sight of him outside of our visual range?"

Kona swept her eyes across the Dradis and it seemed clear. She sighed. "Nothing yet on Dradis. I think we should go check the cabin and see what we find there. If nothing else, if Clint has left for parts unknown we need to take care of any loose Brown Coat materials he may have left there." As Jason set the ship down in the tall grass of the pasture and powered it down she unhooked the harness and waited until he was ready to depart. Though she was anxious as all heck she would wait for him to help her climb down the steps to the ground below.
It didn't take her long to get her feet on the ground and she brushed her jacket into place. "Thank you. Now let's go see what we can find in the cabin." she quickly began to walk through the tall grass of the pasture toward her old cabin as old feelings tried to overtake her. She shook them off, no sentimentality for now.
Jason and Kona made their way to the cabin and she opened the door. Clint had definitely been living here and that gave her hope that he would return as he had left quite a number of things there. Things she was sure he would want with him. She smiled as she walked around the cabin and remembered happy times here.
"There's a closet over there, you might take a look and see if the power source is there or not. Or" she walked to the bed and peered under the covers where they were slightly above the floor boards "maybe he stashed it here." She knelt down on the floor and looked into the darkness. Almost had a heart attack when a cricket jumped and scared her. "I see the place is still happily housing the locals." she laughed and looked at Jason.

Jason couldn't hold back his laughter at the sight of Kona becoming startled by the little cricket. At first when he saw her jump, he thought she found something frightening, and so ran over from the closet, especially since he could not find anything; but when he saw the cricket and heard her words, his protective tone turned humerus rather quickly. "Careful, they bite." he teased with another chuckle before offering a hand up off the floor. "Where would the breaker box be? If he had been installing these he would put them in the same place you would put a generator or battery." And that got him thinking. He did see an old truck just outside, and while the engine still required fuel, it also used a battery to start. Without pausing to explain, he brought Kona with him back outside to the vehicle and let go of her hand when they stood in front of the hood.
The age of the truck would have probably affected the nostalgia of Jack, but not Jason as he continued moving to find a way to lift the hood. It only took roughly less than 20 seconds to figure out that the lever inside the cab near the door lifted the hood enough to unlock it. Once he came back around from the drivers side, he lifted the hood and locked it in place with the stand, revealing the heart of the truck to all. Everything appeared to be well kept and in working order, with one small difference. Where a battery used to set, there was now a crystal of roughly the same size, jury-rigged to the power cables with power couplings that allowed a proper connection between the crystal and the engine. To prevent the crystal from being badly jostled around by the driving of the truck, It appeared to be secured tightly to the battery housing. "This, my dear aunt," Jason said with a grin, "is the material we are looking for. I know he has more than this. Probably some stashed in the barn and at least one hooked up to the cabin, if not also some probably stashed in places around the cabin."
Being very careful not to accidentally electrocute himself on the truck's exposed power cables, Jason quickly detached the crystal from powering the truck, and then removed it from the battery housing. It had taken a bit of time to remove with how well Clint secured it, and a trip back to the ship for tools, before he was finally finished. The crystal was harm to the touch, but the radiation emanating from it was harmless. "Since home has plenty and I know Clint brought spares, let me give you a visual of how volatile these can be if dropped, or allowed to become fractured." He then hopped into the fighter and briefly hit a few commands into the ships computer to rig one of the wing flaps to act as a sort of catapult. Stepping back out, he walked over to the flap and set the crystal on the metal. Pausing for a few second, he glanced back to make sure Kona was watching before activating the command, sending the crystal flying away from the house and towards a nearby valley.....

Well she was impressed by first her son's ingenuity and then the fact that Jason was able to get the power source removed without getting so much as a shock from the venture. She wondered what he had planned but was enlightened quickly enough when he sent the power crystal flying off into the far distance. She shielded her eyes from the bright sun and watched as it catapulted off. What followed was a very powerful explosion! It landed out of harms way but still close enough to shake the ground in their vicinity.
"Oh my goodness! I had no idea. Ok, we have got to go put out that fire that I'm sure it landing must have caused. Let's get to the barn and scoop up as many buckets as we can find and then fill them with creek water once we get there." she grabbed Jason's hand and pulled him along beside her before he could potentially protest. They headed full steam for the barn and as a full Cylon she could RUN!
Jason kept up with her pretty well though and she smiled as they reached the barn. Pushing open the sliding door she went deep into the barn and once her eyes adjusted to the dimmer light she found the buckets she knew should be inside. Grabbing four herself she motioned for him to grab as many as he could carry and they headed out with them.
"Come on slow poke! We have to get that fire out quick." she headed off for the short distance to where the crystal had appeared to be headed for when he shot it off. Fortunately the creek was very close by and once they actually arrived she began to breathe a sigh of relief as the crystal had landed in the creek and extinquished any possible flames. "Well" she set the buckets down and grinned at him "we got lucky today. Now since there is no harm done here let's get back to the cabin and find the fuse box. I know where it is. It's just inside the back porch area."
The return trip was not so hectic and they had a chance to enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of the area. There was a smokey smell in the air which alerted her that the fire was still a possibility so they did need to step it up a bit. She kept scanning the horizon for not only signs of fire but Clint's mini raptor.
Carrying their buckets they put them back inside the barn and Kona noticed the motorcycle. "You might want to make sure he hasn't put any crystal into that death rocket there." she nodded toward Play's old bike. "You know how boys like their Dad's toys." she laughed but she was still serious about the situation.

The mountain was smoky in some spots and clear in others. The mini raptor made its way back toward the cabin. He didn't realize he had strayed quite as far from his home as he had. Keeping his eyes on the mountain and the smoke in the air he would soon be back and have to decide where he was going to go. He could gather up all the BroCoLyte and head for the Home World if nothing else. He thought about his Mom but didn't have any idea how to find her or even where she might be. He felt pretty alone but he was smart and he'd be ok. (he hoped)
Pulling the control to the right he made a turn and knew he was pretty close now to his cabin. The terrain looked familiar when out of the corner of his eye he thought he saw a FLASH ........ something exploded! "What the hell?" Clint pulled on the controls and headed for the area where he saw the FLASH.
