As Colonel Jasmine Yolander, Deputy Marine Commander The phone call comes through from Colonel Yolander's office. The Fleet Admiral's assistant picks up the phone. "Office of the Fleet Admiral, may I help you?" "This is the Deputy Marine Commander's office calling. Please stand by for Colonel Yolander." The master sergeant then transferred the call to Colonel Yolander's desk, hanging up when he was finished. Colonel Yolander picked up the call and spoke. "This is Colonel Yolander. I need to speak to the Fleet Admiral and I'll be glad to hold the line." As the phone rang a few times, Colonel Yolander wondered how the Admiral or the President would handle this situation. Suddenly, the voice of the Fleet Admiral was on the line. "Colonel Yolander, how good to hear from you. I take it you have some news about the general for me?" "Admiral, Fleet Comm informed us that they have picked up a signal from the general's personal communicator and have traced it to the Gondawan region, the council to be exact." Taking in the news for a second, the Admiral thought a moment, then replied. "Colonel, we cannot intervene in this matter. If we do, the rebels will be sure to use it. Besides, the general had no authority to be where he was and the Gondawan council knows it. We both know they won't harm him but perhaps some time-out is necessary for the general." Colonel Yolander chuckled a little. General Castorious could be a bit of a handful at times, especially when it came to this whole missing crew thing. "Yes, Sir, but my concern is what they will do to him. I mean, only the Terrans have a court system, so he'll have to be brought before them. But there is also the chance the council will dispose of the matter themselves because we both know he's gonna scream about that missing ship's crew, the CMS Gondawa. That's why he went there in the first place. If it hadn't been for the raptor going down, he would've made it to the council's location just fine." "Yes, and that would have started a whole mess for us then as well. I will see to it our JAG people send someone over there to represent him. In the meantime, we have a rescue mission in the works and I need a total count of your Marines here on the planet and in the Fleet. We're not sending anybody back home without ample protection and that means Marines." "Yes, Sir. I'll have those numbers to you shortly. With your permission, Admiral, I would like to have a few of my pilots flying CAP above the highlands region, to keep an eye on the area." The Admiral wasn't too keen on the idea of Marine pilots flying in that area, but she also knew if there were a problem or the order was to extract the general, she would need those Marines on station. Hesitantly, she agreed. "Agreed, Colonel, but on this condition. Those pilots maintain a high flight above the area. I don't want any low flying stunts, no 'showing the colors' crap. Understood? If this turns ugly, your Marines will already be there and that's what I need, but I don't need them stirring this pot. Are we clear, Colonel?" "Crystal clear, Admiral. I'll see to it personally that my pilots understand this. There will be no screw ups, Admiral. I promise you that." "Very well, Colonel. I'm counting on you. We have enough problems as it is. If the Terrans don't do something to the general, I assure you I plan on doing so when he returns. Perhaps sending him back home would do him some good, bring him back to reality. Get me those troop numbers soon, Colonel." "Aye, Sir. I'll shoot 'em to you shortly." Both the admiral and colonel hung up their phones. Both sat there thinking about this entire mess and how quickly it could blow up in their faces.

Message from the Commander, Fleet Shipyard Terra
Attention all Colonial vessels. Commencing immediately, those vessels assigned to the upcoming mission to the 12 Colonies will begin their transit to the Fleet Supply Station and will begin taking up station at the anchorage there.
All ships shall conduct their final preparations for the mission at that time. Ships will begin jumping to the first coordinates approximately 6 hours after all vessels have arrived at the Fleet Supply Station.
All Colonial vessels are urged to show caution while transiting the area as there will be many vessels present and shuttle/raptor traffic will be heavy. There will be a constant CAP flown while the Fleet is in transit and at anchorage.
Additional updates will follow from Fleet Comm Center.
End Message

A moment of silence hung in Admiral Middleton's office after her conversation with Colonel Yolander ended. Captain Markus and Commander Little could sense a heightened air of seriousness in the room.
Finally, Deana broke the silence by activating the desk comm unit.
"Jennetta, contact the JAG office. Have them get someone ready to go to Gondawa, as soon as the word is given. From what the colonel said, Castorious may need all the help he can get."
"Understood," came the reply. "I'll send the JAG some background on Gondawa and the general's status as we know it."
Middleton shut the channel and turned to her two visitors.
"Gentlemen, you've already heard the news Lieutenant Holden brought. Since you, Captain Markus, want to get back to your vessel, I'm giving you the go ahead. I will need to know, of course, when you and the others are ready to proceed, so the Marines can get into place."
Markus nodded. "Of course, Admiral. You'll be first in line."
Markus and Little left the office, so they could return to the Marauder and start getting the supplies onboard.
Fleet Admiral Deana Middleton turned to a folder Jennetta prepared on the Gondawan situation and poured a glass of chilled fruit juice. She leaned back in her chair and began rereading one of the reports on the planet's government.
Deana wasn't exactly overjoyed with having to deal with political uncertainties, especially in this situation, but knew that it was a part of the job, as her father reminded her in the past.

Attention all Colonial Units. Cylon attack on Fleet located at Supply Station. Set CONDITION ONE throughout the Fleet.
The following vessels have been destroyed or damaged:
An unidentified Cylon Heavy Raider has launched several nuclear armed missiles towards the Fleet that is in anchorage, awaiting launching the rescue mission to the Colonies.
The Battlecruisers Archer and Magellan were each hit by one missile a piece, causing moderate damage to their Port Pods.
The Gunstars Cadmus and Ceres both were hit by one missile a piece, however the missiles had struck in the stern, directly into the Engineering sections. Both ships exploded into a thousand little pieces.
Pieces from both ships managed to strike the BSS-966 (Fleet Support Ship) Naru, destroying the ship as well.
The remaining missiles struck in the middle of the civilian ships, which had taken up station closer to the Supply Station. Fortunately, only a few of those ships were damaged, the defensive guns of the station having hit the incoming missiles.
The following civilian ships were present. Those designated as so were slightly to moderately damaged:
Delilah-Passenger ship. 28 crew, carries 200 passengers. Registered to Pan-Terran Tours (slight damage to starboard side of ship from shrapnel)

Deana Middleton returned to her office, having received an update from Jennetta about the JAG representative's transport to Gondawa, and saw the reports on her desk.
She reviewed the promotion orders and signed them with her favorite pen, then asked a passing yeoman to distribute the appropriate copies to Fleet Personnel for the announcements.
Deana then turned to the fleet status report left by Lt. Colonel Rand Jalla. He was thorough in his description of which vessels were damaged by Cavil's forces. She also looked over the report from Fleet Ops on the Cylon attack of the supply station. Middleton silently thanked the Gods that the civilian ships weren't seriously damaged or destroyed.
For now, Deana allowed herself the chance to catch her breath before something new got her attention.

As Major Kyle Montgomery, CMCMajor Kyle Montgomery was certain he had been assigned the night shift at Fleet HQ because of his winning streak at the weekly games of cards. He knew a certain Colonel over at CMC HQ who was just the person to have him assigned. Still, it was night and most of the regular Command Staff was off duty, which mean things were quiet. As he walked into the outer office of the Fleet Admiral, he was apprehensive about entering and handing her the latest report on the still missing General Castorious. Stepping to the door, he knocked, then opened the door. Seeing that the Fleet Admiral was away, he hurriedly placed the report on her desk, then exited the office, heading to the Marine Duty Hut down the hall. From, CMC HQ-Operations
To, Fleet Admiral Middleton
Subject: Status of General J Castorious

After a long Raptor ride Ben and his secret service members reached the office of Fleet Admiral Middleton. Last time he was in her office was a long time ago, he had just been busted down from Commodore to Commander. Then shoved into the bunghole of space on a Supply Depot.
This time he was entering as the Vice President of the Twelve Colonies. He had hell site more pull this time and he was going to use it. So many things had to be discussed with Deana. Reaching up and knocking on the door before entering.
"Fleet Admiral Middleton, its nice to see you again. Also sorry to come unexpected like I have. Many things to discuss and very little time."

As Private Samuel H. Mendoza, CMC
Mendoza walks up the hall to the Fleet Admirals office , stopping at the door taking a deep breath. He had never been this close to a member of the Command Staff, let alone a high ranking Government Official. Knowing on the door he quickly opened it before asking to enter.
As Sam entered he saw the VP. Walking swiftly to Ben, reaching the man he snaps to attention and speaks. "Mr. Vice President you are needed on the Acheron. Per order of Fleet Admiral Middleton and request of Commander Raynor. If you follow me sir I will take you to your Raptor."The private saluted and turned and stopped at the door and waited for the VP to follow.

From the desk of the Fleet Admiral To: Brigadier General J Castorious, CMC Subject: Disciplinary Action General Castorious, Effective immediately, you are hereby reduced from your current rank of Brigadier General, Colonial Marine Corps and reverted back to your previous rank of Major, Colonial Marine Corps-Retired. You are also hereby placed back into a retired status, effectively immediately. The reason for this action is simple. Your blatant disregard of orders and your actions in the Gondawan Region of this planet. Not only did you abandon your position as Commander, Colonial Marine Forces Terra but you placed yourself in the position of being arrested and detained by Gondawan authorities for having trespassed into the Restricted Zone of Gondawa. Although your actions were precipitated by the fact that your wife and those accompanying her were shot down by Terran rebel forces while transiting over Gondawa, your presence there created a diplomatic nightmare and thus threatened the very fragile relationship that the Colonial Fleet and Government have with not only the Gondawans but the Terrans as well. Even though the final results of your action were the safe return of Colonial military personnel and civilians from the CMS Gondawa, which had crashed on Terra a year prior to our return to this planet, the fact that you ignored repeated orders to return cannot be ignored. An officer of your rank and caliber MUST set the example. If not, then we no longer have discipline or order within the Fleet. It is for this reason alone that this action must be taken against you. A copy of this letter shall be placed in your official Fleet record. As a final note, I wish to personally thank you for your service to the Colonial Fleet and its citizens, both as an officer in the Colonial Marine Corps but also as a former member of the Colonial government. Respectfully, Deana Middleton Fleet Admiral Colonial Fleet-Terra

*Entering the office heading for the desk, looking around wondering where she is today. Hunching over Admiral Middleton's desk placing a sealed letter on her desk for her to read.*
==================== To: Fleet Admiral Deana Middleton and Fleet Admiral Christopher Whaley
Subject: Treachery and Corruption involving Major Alexander Phoenix
Dear Admirals,
I Commander Yogi Tenor Devya of the BattleStar Atlantia - 53. It has come to my attention that Alex has let us all down. He has deceived us and Corrupted our friendship and desecrated the Colonial name and for what we stand. I feel outraged but yet disturbed at the thought of trust I have given him. Am I to blame I don't know I am at a lose for words.
Given how Alex rose to power in become the Secretary of Defense and staying on as my CAG I recommend we take action. I would like to see all our defense codes changed immediately, I also would to see Alex stripped of his governed power's given that his body died on my ship.
Respectfully,
Commander Yogi Tenor Devya ====================
