Clayton rolled his eyes as he maneuvered the XF-01E away from the rescue point. He quickly dispatched a pair of heavy Raiders with a burst of Metal Storm.
"Of course I did, you're in the most technologically advanced fighter in the fleet. Besides, I'm not going to let the Cylons take out two CAGs with one shot." He put the emphasis on the word two.
He checked the pressure and nitrogen levels in the aft cockpit.
"We'll be landing as soon as there's no chance you go into nitrogen narcosis. You won't be dying on my watch." He keyed the frequency to Atlantia CIC.
"Atlantia, this is Acheron Hammerhead 001E inbound with your CAG. He is undergoing standard treatment for nitrogen narcosis. Please notify your medicos that we shall be landing in ten minutes."
The bomber rolled evenly to port and engaged an evasive course back to the Battlestar.

Tapping his earpiece before shooting half of his last clip into Rose's bird before tossing it aside, undoing his straps as he stood on his seat; "Rose, your not the CAG you can't give out orders like that...Lieutenant, you are crossing a line very few Lieutenant's come back from!" Kicking off his seat, he leaped towards Diamond's ship as he climbed over him and into the backseat before strapping back in; "I don't do this too often cause not too many of my pilots cross the line but you've hit strike 2," turning to Diamond as he locked over the controls, "well shit back to the ship and lets see about sneaking out a bird." The Rescue Squad makes for the Ship and as they get a little closer Rose's Cobra begins to falter. She is very surprised to see her instrument panel light up like a Christmas Tree on Caprica and begin to flash. Sirens and alarms begin to sound. Rose flips the panel with her fingers thinking it is a small malfunction but the alarms continue. Not wanting to risk hitting the hangar deck and causing more problems Rose yanks up hard on the yoke and does a steep climb. The Cobra responds but not nearly as it should. Rose heads back out to the action hoping the situation clears itself up. It does not. She looks at the gauge and tries to determine what the exact problem is when she sees she's losing hydraulic fluid. Now totally pissed off she decides that if she's going out she's taking as many metal monsters with her as she can. Before it's too late Rose keys in one last time *Ace, I hope you're happy now. That last little stunt must have hit my hydraulic lines cause I have very little control. I won't risk trying to land with the little control I have over this bird but I WILL take out as many as I can before it's all leaked out.* Rose finds herself on a collision course with a toaster and looks like he wants to play Chicken with her. The mood she's in she's ready to not flinch. Rose does her best to steady her failing bird and heads right into him. The Raider does not waiver and in a brilliant clash the two find themselves entangled in a real mess. The Raider's fork seems to wrap around the nose of Rose's Cobra making it impossible to fire at the other. Rose has lost all control now and is being pushed away from the fighting by the Raider who seems to have retained all of his power. Just before Rose is too far out to get a signal back to the ship she sends out one last message:
*MAYDAY - MAYDAY - SPITFIRE EJECTING - MAYDAY - MAYDAY - I'M TANGLED WITH A RAIDER AND HE'S PUSHING ME AWAY FROM THE SHIP - I SAY AGAIN - MAYDAY - MAYDAY - SPITFIRE EJECTING* Rose pulls up on the ejection seat as her heart pounds and she closes her eyes as the canopy blows off. Once in space Rose sees she has been pushed very far away from the ship and action. She can only hope her message has gotten through to the CIC and help is on the way. Otherwise her oxygen won't last forever and she knows this. Thankfully the Cylons seem to have lost interest in a floating body in space and just fly around her as she drifts. *Damn you, Ace. Why the hell did you have to shoot my ride? I loved that Cobra!*

Otherwise her oxygen won't last forever and she knows this. Thankfully the Cylons seem to have lost interest in a floating body in space and just fly around her as she drifts. Feeling the mounting pressure, I'm beginning to notice that with two birds out of the sky now, I'm gonna have to really stick my nose to the grindstone. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHH!!! FRACK!!I adjust my climate controls for a slightly added level of O2, to aid me a little bit- the manuevers I'm about to pull off is incredibly risky, I'll be holding my breath for sure. "SpitFire this is BlueBird, I've got an idea... and I ain't leaving you behind. I'll be approaching you from 4 o'clock."I slow down get an auto pilot lock on Rose's postion. I unhook myself from my seat, and rummage through and find some standard cargo straps, and wench them down on my door. >That should do the trick.<I return to my chair and fasten back in, picking up speed, I now have a visual on Rose. closing in on 500 out from her, I slow and orient myself so that I will be ever so slightly above her. I unhook myself from my seat, duck down, and eject my chair into space. >Awesome!< It worked like a charm, the straps still have my door, a bit disconnected but still there. I grab ahold of the controls and flip the ship upside down now that I'm on top of Rose. I secure my feet in some of the extra strap length, and find myself half out my ship, pulling Rose in by her shoulder straps, simultaneously unhooking them to release her from her own chair. Not daring to pause for even a moment to catch the look on her face, I strap her into the co-pilot chair, while I myself stay standing where mine used to be. I reach up and wench down the straps to put my door back into position, just in time to engage the Heavy raider on my six. Using the excess straps to hold myself upright with one hand, I increase thruster speed and land 3 missles in the underbelly of the raider. "Ma'am, the lid will still protect us from the space debris, but she's not air tight. Best to keep your helmet on."
I gently bank us around, and return toward DiamondClay's position. "CIC, this is BlueBird, I've got SpitFire aboard. Please advise the Chief that I will be needing a new chair asap."an erie silence begins to fill my little corner of space. "OK DiamondClay, I'm just guessing here sir, but I think if you happen to get the spare time, it'd be mighty nice if you could work with a team to build an upgrade and standardize something for vipers, something like a pilot recovery system. It's just that I've heard you're mighty tech savvy sir. >cue nervous laugh<"

A few months later, Jack found himself standing on the command bridge of the white fang. He never thought he would get this far, let alone find himself being accepted by Jayne and the crew. Now, stationed at the front viewport, Jack received word of the colonials under attack by the cylons once more. He knew many of the crew would rather remain neutral and let the two nations fight it out, however, Jack still felt an urge of loyalty to the Colonials because of what he's been through with them. Turning away from the empty stars, he stared at the bridge crew before him. Jayne was no where to be found, which was most likely understandable since he kept the crew alive these many months, and still seemed to have a problem with Jack leading the ship into battle. A problem to deal with later, he thought as he readied a light speech.
"Men, women, and Cylons, today I request that you aid me, just this once, in ending a war that has been raging for many years."
He looks towards the cylons, both fleshly, and centurions...
"Even though the humans may have created and enslaved your metallic brothers of old, they today are holding a grudge so strong that they would love nothing more then to see the men and women that stand beside you as brothers and sisters of this vessel dead, and you alongside them because of the path you have chosen"
Looking away, he then scanned the entire command deck crew.
"Today we will side with the colonials, for they are the defenders in this fight. Tomorrow may hold a change in those winds. I understand how difficult it is to walk the fine line, for I watched and sided with Commander whayley when he loved and defended the cylon kona..... Set course and jump when ready"
A few seconds later, the white fang jumped from its secret port in uncharted space, and found itself just barely out of weapons range of the immediate battle
"Launch brown raiders and scythe fighters. Tell them to hold a defensive pattern around the white fang at the moment. Give our cylon friends some time to attempt to convince the legion to cease this conflict. If no reply in five minutes, open fire on the nearest star and order attack pattern epsilon 2"

On board the Battlecruiser AphroditeAs the CIC crew of the Aphrodite settled into what was to be a rather long and boring patrol of the system, the DRADIS alarms suddenly went off. Sitting at her console, Specialist Morgan Jespers sat upright, not fully believing what she saw. Looking over at the Command Table, she yelled out to the Commander, Peter Lane. "Commander Lane Sir, DRADIS contact, it's a Basestar!" Commander Lane looked over suddenly, the disbelief on his face. "What? Are you kidding me? FRAK! Set Condition One throughout the ship, launch the alert birds now." As the CIC sprang to life, Commander Lane looked at the XO, Colonel Gil Vilati. "Colonel, set our guns to suppression fire the. I want them to put up a wall of fire and metal for any incoming Raiders or missiles." The XO nodded, speaking into the handset. "Attention, this is the XO. All guns set to suppression fire and stand by for incoming hostiles." Suddenly, new alarms began going off in the CIC. Specialist Jespers suddenly screamed out across the CIC. "INCOMING MISSILES, THEY'RE NUKES!" Before the XO could issue the order, two missiles slammed into the Starboard side of the ship, striking the Starboard Pod. Withing seconds, the entire ship lurched. Explosions could be felt all over the ship, the ripple effect of the nuclear warheads detonating, tylium stores bursting apart and showering the entire Starboard Pod in liquid flame. As if to make matters worse, two entire squadrons of Vipers disappeared in the conflagration, along with over 500 crew members. Commander Lane barked to the Nav Officer. "HELM, hard to starboard 40 degrees. Weapons, all Port batteries open fire on the turn!" As the ship began to move to the Starboard, more missiles were streaking towards the Aphrodite. Within moments, her port guns began firing, sending up a wall of shrapnel and fire to meet the incoming missiles. One by one, the guns found their marks, however, three missiles managed to slip through, slamming into the Forward section of the ships Port side. Fortunately, the crew quarters in that section of the ship were empty, as everyone had scrambled to their stations. Still, the damage was considerable and radiation was flowing throughout the entire forward third of the ship. "Damage Control parties to the Forward sections, ASAP!" The XO wasn't sure how much more of this the ship could take. He looked over at the Commander. "Pete, we can't take this beating much longer. We either need to cut and double back or take that Basestar head on, guns blazing." Commander Lane looked down at the Command Table for a second. Looking up at the ceiling, he sighed. "Colonel, set course for the bastards, all forward and top side batteries on salvo fire. Ready all missile tubes for immediate launch, nuclear ordnance is authorized. Remove all safety controls as well. Do we have any air cover out there yet?" "Yes Sir, Port side is launching as we speak." "Excellent, let's either take them out, or take them with us Colonel." "Aye Sir! All forward and top side batteries, salvo fire. Ready all missile tubes for nuclear launch, NOW PEOPLE!" As the Aphrodite continued to tangle with the Basestar, the new DRADIS officer, a young Ensign, called out to the Commander. "Commander Lane, Sir, we have another enemy contact. Sir, it's another Basestar!"

His Dradis lit up as new ships entered the fight. He broke off his return to Acheron, pivoting around to rejoin the battle. Anastasia responded to the controls smoothly and he sighed as he turned the bomber back into the fray.
"This is DiamondClay aboarting return to Acheron."
He had half a load of Metal Storm left, half of the 20mm rounds of the forward guns and half of the 59mm rounds of the aft turret. Both FTLs were nominal, inertial dampening was optimum. He was ready to fight, though he didn't really care to. He wasn't going to let that stop him. He had too much legacy to defend and live for.

Lt. Rose rejoins the fight and sees DiamondClay right away. She opens her mic and sends him a message *DiamondClay this is Spitfire, I will form up on you and ride your wing. Oh yea, since Ace shot my Cobra to hell I'm in a Mark VII now. Not real sure about how effective this ride will be but the CAG seems to think it's as good or better than the Cobra. We'll see* Rose flies up behind and to the side of Clay as they head off to take on the metal monsters again.

"Hey, SpitFire, DiamondClay, this is BlueBird. Good to see you again. SpitFire, I've got a sticky here on my DRADIS sayin' I'm your wing mate... so let's fry some toasters!'
Noticing that SpitFire has already formed up on DiamondClay, I bank toward the right and fill in the hole completing the standard v shaped formation.

Suddenly a warning signaled throughout the ship of incoming colonial vessels. Calmly turning to the comm station, he nodded, giving the silent command to connect the transmission with the fighters as he picked up the comm.
"Commander, this is white fang. If those colonials close the distance, You are ordered to leave the ships dead in space, but the pilots able to squawk. The cylons can resurrect, humans cannot. However, if they break upon reaching missile range of the white fang, disengage."
Disconnecting the comm, he then turned towards a six that came to report on the comm status with the legion fleet.
"They are uncooperative and still have a fervor to kill the colonials."
Jack sighed a bit before speaking.
"Then it is unfortunate that I must give the order. Order the attack on the nearest basestar"
Only minutes later, the white fang's cannons opened up, roaring to life and sending salvo after salvo of missiles and high explosive rounds towards the basestar.

Anastasia jinks and jukes as Clayton avoids Cylon fire while pouring his own in.
"Any assistance is fine. I don't want to get in the way of your own CAG, though, or get you in trouble with him. For now, while your're here, I agree with popping these toasters. That's our job." He sees aother Viper form on him. It is SpitFire.
"All right, don't stick too rigidly like we're all attached to each other. That'll make us too good a target and will reduce our own flexibility." He did not want to be responsible for the loss of another Battlestar's pilots. Clayton mades sure that both FTLs of the Hammerhead were in standby mode, reado to go hot at the push of a button. He also made the mental note to not exceed the G-limits of the other fighters in their impromptu chevron.
"Rose, SpitFire, call your targets out and let us know if you are breaking formation. We will execute a formation half roll followed by a quarter loop in three, two, one, execute."
The DRADIS would tell him of any possible collision threats, but he did not expect them to occur. These pilots were too good to bump into another ship while performing formation maneuvers.

Rose pulls back and opens up a little more area between herself and DiamondClay then pushes the mic to talk to him *Understood DiamondClay, as long as I'm not flying 'alone' the CAG is fine with me escorting you and watching your six. I'm going after the trio of Raiders to the Starboard side of you now, DiamondClay.*
Rose breaks off just slightly and advances as she begins to open fire on the three Raiders in the standard formation they have become accustomed to seeing the Cylons implement. When all of a sudden the Trio suddenly breaks apart leaving three definite targets.
*Scratch that I will go for the one farthest to the Starboard of DiamondClay's bird. Clay and Bluebird feel free to engage if you have a clear shot at the other two. Seems the Cylons are adapting their method of attack now.* Rose concentrates on firing into the one lone Raider as he returns fire and she has to dip her wing to the left then the right to avoid being hit.
Her Dradis begins to PING out when it detects a new Ship in the mix. It is sending out a Transponder Signal identifying it as Brown Coat Rebel. *Are you guys picking up a BCR Transponder Code? It just suddenly appeared on my screen.* Rose watches it as she dodges and weaves but returns fire at the Raider. The Raider begins to smoke and wobble.
