*Listening in over the comm's as I sly, pressing down my PITT* "Brilliant plan brilliant plan, you call this ain't so brilliant as you think. More like last resort and keeping all the crew on board and civilization's what a bone head plan. Your just lucky if noone gets hurt or killed and did you ever think of contacting me before you pull a bone head move. Let alone the Acheron just finished being over hauled. Hmm let's see your Ens. Bonnie Castor am I correct your the comms officer, no you listen here Tell your Acting Xo that I am writing him up for this as well as your Co for letting a a act officer make that kind on tough call without thinking of the repercussions."Bonnie lsitened to the call from Fleet Admiral Yogi. She then wondered where Fleet Admiral Middleton was, as everyone always wondered where that woman and her battlegroup were whenever the fighting started. Keying her comm unit, she replied to the Independence. "Battlestar Independence, this is the Battlestar Acheron. Please be advised we are under combat operations with two basestars. Our acting XO, Colonel Castorious came up with the brilliant plan od ramming and boarding the basestar. Be advised that damage to our ship is minimal thus far. Our battlegroup is currently fending off the second basestar and inflicting massive damage to same. Terran fighters are also on station dealing with the raiders. Casualty totals have not yet been provided however we expect them to be high. Our Marines have boarded the basestar and have engaged centurions and hybrids. Will keep you advised, Acheron out."Bonnie was still amazed the ship was still in one piece. Everyone had heard the story from the survivors on New Caprica about the Pegasus ramming a basestar, taking out at least two in the process. Of course, the Pegasus rammed the basestar at full speed. This maneuver of Castorious's was a controlled event and was timed as perfectly as it could have been. Still, they were lucky it went as smoothly as it did. The fact it caught the cylons off guard is what saved the ship from being blasted to pieces by the basestars missiles. J was still busy directing the Marine assault teams and getting the numerous and continuing damage control reports in when he heard Admiral Yogi. He tried to not laugh but couldn't help it. Looking over at Ensign Castor, he yelled above the noise in the CIC. "Ensign Castor, patch the Admiral through to me please." Once the comm link had been established, J switched over to a closed channel, as well a scrambled one. Admiral Yogi, the is Colonel Castorious, I have assumed command of the Acheron. The XO, Major Landau, has suffered a nervouse breakdown and has excused himself from command. Since Commander Admiral is still stuck on the shipyard and I am senior officer aboard, Major Landau had no choice but to appoint me as acting XO. As for my maneuver, yes it was a last resort but our Marines are almost to the command center and I have been informed one of our teams has taken the hybrid chamber and convinced it to shut the basestar down." ABout the time J was going to continue speaking, the DRADIS lit up and several pilots began reporting of a dozen or so large explosions in the vicinity of the basestars. Also, the hundreds of smaller blips on the screen representing raiders began to disappear. Keying his comm, he called out to the Admiral. "Admiral, we're getting reports of large explosions, the basestars Sir. I think the Drex Star has engaged the enemy with catastrophic results for the Cylons. Hold one, Sir."

On board the Battlestar Acheron
Raul looked over at Colonel Castorious with a look of horror on his face.
"Colonel, one of the Master-At-Arms just notified a roving Marine patrol that centurions have somehow boarded the ship. My guess is through Airlock Number Six, which was under heavy attack by the centurions on the basestar. I'm sending what marines we have available there now. It's reported that centurions were seen in Causeway Alpha, so they have access to the entire forward section of the ship as well as both pods."

J shook his head and thought to himself. This is really shaping up to be a frakking nightmare. Looking around the CIC, he began issuing orders.
"Ensign Castor, are all of our marines back on board yet?"
"Not yet Sir, Teams One and Three are still making their way back. Team Six was pretty much taken out during the initial assault on the basestar. Those casualties are on board though."
"Okay, send out the order to the marines and tell them to get their asses back or be left behind. Helm, get our FTL fired up and engage the engines for full reverse. We're leaving this show folks."
The looks on the faces of the CIC personnel showed how happy everyone was to hear that.
"Okay people, let's get ready for an emergency jump to.....the Terran Station. Ensign Castor, tell team One and Major Grover if they can somehow get off the basestar to find us at the beta coordinates, she'll know where we are."
"Aye Sir"
J was ready to get out of here . The thought of leaving any of their people behind wasn't sitting well with him. A Specialist passed a note to him. Unfolding it, he read the note.
Team Two has left the hybrid chamber and is on its way back to Airlock Two. They had no choice but to leave the hybrid alive
Well, that explained why the basestar was coming back on line. It didn't matter. Once the Acheron was clear of the basestar, that Drex Star would incinerate the basestar. He could hear and feel the engines straining to move the huge ship in reverse. He looked at the Helmsman.
"What's our status Helm?"
"Sir, five meters away from the basestar, ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters, one hundred meters..."
J looked at the navigator.
"FTL, are you ready?"
"Sir, FTL is on line and standing by."
"...two hundred meters, three hundred meters, five hundred meters..."
"Nav, JUMP NOW!"
"Sir, jumping in three, two, one, JUMP!"
And SWOOSH! The Acheron had jumped away from the basestar. J was handed another note.
Team Two on board
Ensign Castor looked over at J and smiled.
"Sir, Major Grover reports she is in possession of a heavy raider and will rendezvous at the beta coordinates."
"Excellent, now let's take care of our uninvited guests, shall we?"
J grabbed the PA mic.
"Attention throughout the ship, we have centurions and most likely hybrids on board. All available Marines and security personnel are to load up and report to the forward section of the ship, just behind Causeway A from frame ten. Repel boarders, say again repel boarders. Sick bay prepare for mass casualties, CIC out."

Pieter came up beside Juggler and looked at her in disbelief. Keying his comm unit, he called over to her.
"Hey there LT, what the frak are we supposed to do now? I mean, there's TWO basestars still in front of us and now the raiders are coming back at us. I'm getting awfully low on fly juice and bullets."
Pieter wondered what the squadrons would do. The refueling flat tops had left the battle to get re-fueled themselves. Most of the squadron was now calling out their fuel and ammo status. It wasn't looking good and the terran fleet was busy engaging the invasion force. Besides, the teran squadrons had taken a beating and had racked up a considerable amount of casualties themselves. Someone better make a damn decision and they better make it fast he thought to himself.

K was listening to all the comm chatter coming from the squadrons. She too was getting low on fuel and ammo. Still, there was a planet to protect. For whatever reason the Acheron had decided to jump without even letting her at least know, she was sure to ask Major Landau that very question, right after she knocked his ass out. Keying her comm, she called out to the squadrons.
"All right, let's can the chatter. Our battlegroup is still present. We land on the closest ship, refuel and re-arm ourselves, then we get back to doing what we do best-killing cylons."
K checked her DRADIS. She then looked out in front of her. Most of the battlegroup was engaged with the now advancing raiders. The gunstars were doing the best, their massive arrays of point-defence guns keeping everything from raiders to missiles from striking the planet or themselves. The heavier ships weren't doing as well.
"All right, everyone listen up. The battlestar Odysseus and the battlecruiser Agamemnon are close by and seem to be clearer than the others. Battlestar Odysseus, this is Acheron CAG, request immediate clearance for landing to refule and re-arm my squadrons, over."

On board the Battlestar Acheron
Mark was getting tired. He hadn't really slept in what felt like months. Naps here and there were starting to take their toll on not just Mark but everyone else. They still had a few days before reaching the Fleet Shipyard and Mark knew the Cylons would be ambushing them all along the trip back. Already, they had only been several hours out from the terran Station when the Cylons attacked. Fortunately they only lost three vipers but of course they picked up two additional squadrons that had been waiting for them.
Mark rubbed his eyes for the hundredth time. They were sore and tired. Coffee was no longer doing the trick and he was finding himself taking more and more stims just to keep himself half-assed awake. They were now four hours out from the next rendezvous spot and two more squadrons to add to their numbers. Looking at the young female Ensign standing next to him, Mark whispered to her.
"I have to lay down, if only for a moment. Wake me once we arrive at the next rendezvous, or if the Cylons show back up, which I am sure they will the moment I close my eyes."
The young woman nodded and smiled. Mark thought to himself "They're getting younger and younger."
Mark walked out of the CIC and around the corner to his quarters. He barely made it to the bed when he finally just passed out from exhaustion.

It had been several hours since the cylons had attacked the Acheron gropu that was attempting to make it to the mining colony and auxilliary shipyard that was located there. The fleet had managed to beat back several squadrons of raiders and fortunately, no basestars had joined in on the attack. Luck was with them, for now. There were still a few more checkpoints and rendezvous to make before the fleet would make it to safety. Two more squadrons of terran fighters were waiting for them, along with a refeuling platform, a floating gsa station as the pilots liked to call them.
The Battlestar Agamemnon was still being towed by the Terran Freighter Chicasaw with the Terran Frigate Misawa acting as an escort. Besides the Acheron, there was the Terran Freighter Paris, Terran Gunstars Muldoon and Brisbane as well as the Terran Repair Ship Aragon.
The fleet was still two days out from the mining colony. They were sure to have some more company, it was just a matter of time.

Raul was busy going over the damage reports from the last encounter with the Cylons. He overheard Colonel Castorious's suggestion to the Ensign and cracked a smile. he thought to himself "Not a bad idea really." The entire bow of the ship was severely damaged, so much so that the ship may find itself in the shipyard for a couple of years. hell, even the Agamemnon was in better shape. Right now, they were listening to the comm chatter between the Agamemnon and the Terran freighter Choctaw over how fast the Choctaw was towing the Agamemnon versus the load strain on the tow cables. Raul was getting tired of the exchange and was about to have someone tell the Choctaw to reduce their speed when the DRADIS Specialist shouted out.
"Sir, DRADIS contacts bearing seven seven three karem four, unidentified contacts, multiple contacts Sir."
They were still a little while out from the next rendezvous point and were expecting the Cylons to attack them there but the Cylons were never ones to coordinate with the Colonial Fleet. Raul snapped to action.
"Set Condition One throughout the ship, someone go get major Landau and let's get those birds launched. Contact the other ships and advise them as well."
Raul watched as the CIC jumped to life. Yeah, they were far from done.
