A lone Heavy Raider made it's way towards Terra, invisible to Colonial DRADIS. It was an unarmed scout ship, carrying a landing party on board that consisted of a Cavil Model, a Simon Model, seven hybrid models and five Centurions. Their mission was to gather intel and to see what kind of mess they could stir up.

(ALSO POSTED IN THE CMS MARAUDER CIC THREAD) Six enormous three-lobed craft parted and all vanished with the tsing of FTL drives making Jumps. They appeared at six equidistant and equiangular points. If they had materialized around a globe, they would have been at four points ninety degrees apart along the equator as well as the north and south poles. They were in the ideal configuration to be surrounding a single vessel. That, in fact, was what they were doing. Each fighter, as big as a Gemenon transport in linear dimensions. turned to converge on something at the center of the space between all six. In the center of that space was a compact transport that had Jumped from Terra's atmosphere scant hours ago. It appeared to be turning back on a course toward that planet, which forced the other craft to make a move beyond simple surveillance.

On Board Colonial Raptor Five Five Delta J sat there in the Number Two Seat, relaxing. The planets gravity well was doing the work of bringing the assault force towards the planet. There were seventeen raptors, eight shuttle craft, three large troop transports and eighteen Vipers, all totaling four hundred and eighty five persons. The plan was to land just to the west of the city, about thirty kilometers, near the coast. Two separate landing zones would be marked with strobes from the Marines on the planet. The Cylon force to the north of the city was being pushed southward by General Yolander's Marines and the Cylons inside the city were being pushed from the east by Terran army, TDF, and Terran Special Forces towards the western edge of the city. Planes from the Terran air force, TDF, Colonial Fleet and Colonial Marines were providing withering air support. It was almost perfect. Almost. J and his assault force were to close behind the Cylons and box them in, preventing an escape from the coast, where the Terran surface navy was waiting with over two thousand assorted surface ships, armed with missiles, large bore guns and smaller crew served weapons. The effect should be stellar. But J wasn't so positive on the outcome. Picking up the headset, J placed it on his head and keyed the mic. "Attention all craft, we'll be on the surface in less than one hour. Our Marines on the surface will have the LZ's marked and secured. There are over ten thousand enemy down there, centurions and humanoids. They've got surface-to-sir and shoulder launched missiles and they're very accurate, so it's gonna get rough. The Vipers will protect the transports on their approach and landings, then break off to assist those planes over the city. Stand by for further instructions, XO out."

As the MK VII Viper broke through the atmosphere of the planet the Lieutenant maneuvered his ship to the vector of decent that matched the Colonels Raptor. This was the second time Jonathan had come Tove Terra the first was to retrieve his aunt and uncle from the Gondawan settlement. That had been quiet the mission though a successful one… well sort of.
Once radio silence had been broken due to interference on entry Little heard his Uncle J come through his helmet. Listening closely to the instructions the Cylon started to prepare his viper for combat. He knew that most if the pilots that were with them are nuggets and him, Juggler and the Captain would be doing most of the work. After the XOs statement Jon keyed his mic to his squad.
"Alright, you heard the Colonel. Stay in formation on approach until the convoy has landed. They are to be protected at all cost. Renegade out."
Renegade flipped his mic off and sighed. He was hoping that this mission was going to go smoothly. Though most of these types of things were bound to have some problems.

As the Colonial battlestar Acheron and her battlegroup continue to repel raiders, a single heavy raider manages to make it through the heavy curtain of firepower being thrown up from the Colonial ships. Streaking towards the nearest ship, the heavy raider lets loose with a salvo of missiles. Within seconds, the heavy raider jumps from the scene.
The missiles, six in all, streak towards a single target.....

The missiles, six in all, streak towards a single target..... On board the Battlecruiser PersephoneAs the launch of vipers continued, Colonel Henry Silva looked up at the DRADIS monitor. What he saw shocked him. A lone cylon raider, no a heavy raider, had managed to get through the suppression fire and was heading straight towards them. What he saw next drained all expression from his face. Shouting to his Helmsman, he knew it was already too late. "HELM! right full NOW!" Even as the words left his mouth, he braced for the impact. Within seconds, the alarm went off. The DRADIS officer, a young woman whose family had managed to escape from Gemenon during the Cylon holocaust, looked at him and calmly told him what he already knew. "Colonel, radiological alarm sir, they've fired nukes Sir." Before he could respond, the ship rolled and lurched from the impact of one, then two and three, and then the remaining three missiles. As he stood there, Henry knew the ship was lost. Ensuing internal explosions began rocking the ship. Grabbing the PA, he called out to the entire ship. "This is Actual, close all air tight hatches and secure the ship. We have been hit on our port side and are experiencing secondary explosions. If you are unable to secure your areas, make way to the nearest life pods. All DC crews report to your stations, sickbay ready yourself to be buttoned down. Gods speed to you all, actual out." Looking at his communications officer, he gave the order. "Ensign Reyes, send out the distress call, we need help." Nodding, Ensign Reyes keyed her earpiece and called out to the battlegroup. "Battlegroup Seventy Seven, this is Persephone, we have been hit by six nukes and are in trouble, requesting SAR now, say again, we need help now, port side is out and on fire, Persephone out."

K came in low over the city, targeting the cylon anti-aircraft batteries. Letting loose with her guns, she spewed hundreds of thousands of 20mm rounds into the area below her. Pressing her mic, she called out to the terran forces below, and to any colonial ones till there.
"Terran SF, this is Acheron CAG, the area is all yours, colonial forces have withdrawn from the the area, cylons still trying to slip out of the city via the river, say again, the cylons are heading down the river, CAG out."

The raptor jumps into the planets airspace. Rebecca looks over the planet and remembers what she is here for. Her thoughts blurred with the recent attacks and fight she had. With the SF team going for the Cylon Home World, there will just be the Colonials there. A bad idea to her but what did she know about it? She is only half Terran. Or was.

In Terran space, a small moon follows its orbit. Its low albedo and the balance of minerals in its surface result in a minimal signature on Dradis. On close inspection, that surface would be seen to be artificial in nature. The geography of the moon contained ridges, channels, and large smooth areas.
Several of those smooth areas began to move. They slid back over the adjacent surface as if on rollers. This took place on the side opposite the sun so that any visible light would not be reflected. From the vast open areas that were now present, large objects that had consisted of three lobes spaced at equal angles rose from the moon. They appeared to have the same low-observable treatment of the moon. There was a gold-tinted bubble on the upper lobe, and several engines puffed on the backside of the lobes. As they appeared from the jet blackness of the chasms, several long tubes were seen on the flat fore surfaces of the lobes. Some were large enough that a person could slip their body into the orifice.
The shapes slowly drifted away from the surface until they were several hundred meters away, then the after surfaces emitted a steady blue glow. They climbed away from the surface of the moon, each one the size of a small transport. A Viper or even a Raptor would have been dwarfed by them, but the canopy-like shroud suggested single occupancy.

Coming out of their jump, six basestars arrive only 50 A.U. from Terra, awaiting their orders. Over twenty thousand raiders and heavy raiders waited, along with thirty heavy troop transports. Soon, the humans would know once again what it was like to be under the boots of centurions.

On board the Terran Cruiser Leviathan
In the CIC
As Fleet Captain Childers Gomax stared at the DRADIS console, all he could do was shake his head. Looking at his XO, Commander Gail Suma, he gave the order to enter the fight.
"Commander Suma, get us right there, five thousand meters from that basestar and see if we can draw some of that fire hammering that colonial ship."
Looking at the Helmsman, Commander Suma barked out the order.
"HELM, flank speed, ten thousand meters starboard, bearing one one seven karem three three, take us to within five thousand meters off the port side. WEAPONS, all forward batteries ready to fire as soon as we are there."
Captain Gomax was glad they were finally getting into this fight. Turning to his Flight Ops team, he smiled.
"Get our fighters ready ladies, it's time to show the cylons how we do it. Ready all birds and launch immediately."

On board the Battlecruiser Persephone BCR-608
As the battle raged on, the Battlecruiser Persephone continued to hold her own, although it was becoming increasingly more difficult as the Cylon raiders were getting through her point defense guns and causing major damage to the ship. So far, she had suffered over twenty percent losses in her crew, not to mention over half of her viper complement was gone. Still, the ship maintained her position and was giving back to the Cylon basestars what they were giving to her. On the Bridge, the Commander, Jenny Gump, stood there watching out the large main window. Looking at the Operations Officer, she gave an order.
"Major Dent, take us in closer. If we can get in there, between the two basestars, we might just be able to launch a full spread of missiles and even the odds a bit."
"Commander, if we get any closer, those two basestars are going to make quick work of us. We already have fires throughout the ship and we're starting to run low on ordnance. We need to pull off the line and re-supply."
"No Major, we need to stay put and that's what we're going to do! HELM, bring us in closer, match the Leviathan in distance to targets. Weapons, ready all missile tubes."
As the ship responded, two lone raiders made their way past the ships defenses and set a course straight for the Bridge, launching two missiles each. Both struck the large viewing window and the resulting explosions tore the Bridge assembly away from the topside of the ship. Secondary explosions ripped through the corridors in that area of the ship, killing everyone present. The ship immediately lurched to a halt, except for the force of forward momentum still carrying her towards the two basestars. Fortunately, the command to launch missiles was still valid and all twenty four missile tubes opened, sending their missiles streaming towards the basestars. WIthin seconds, all twenty four missiles had found their targets, sending pieces of both basestars flying in all directions, including into the hull of the Persephone.
