Greer opened the hatch of the raptor and peered out then shut it, he moved up to the cockpit, he smiled and looked at shay. "a whole 30 minutes and where still in the air" he looked over the city of Sparta as they passed the rumble that once looked like buildings. "not much to look at here, i think the cylons are through with this city" he patted her on the shoulder and sat back.

Stopping the Humvee up on the stairs, Thomas pulled out the key as he grabbed his M-4 as well but had his ID tag handing around his neck as he walked past the security. Stepping into the Gym, he noticed it was mostly an operation on saving civvies which he was never good at as he turned around and started back out as he crossed his arms with his rifle between them; "Basically civvie operations going on...the Cylons are done for Terra," pausing as he noticed Michael exhausted, "look you two just go and take your R&R early...I'll finish up here," extending his hand as he and Michael shook hands, "you deserve it brother."

Shaking his hand, he knew Thomas could take it from here as he dropped the keys into Sam's hands, "Thanks Thomas and don't get into trouble," handing him his M-4 along with his holsters, he set his vest down into the humvee as he opened his jacket while opening the door, "a few days R&R and I'll see you at the spaceport to get to Atlantia."
Sitting down in the passenger's seat, he set his jacket down in the back as he closed the door but rolled down the window; "Remember my radio will be off!"

"See, that wasn't so bad. I have the gentle touch." Laughing, she smiled and powered down the ship. "This place looks like hell. Maybe we'll be out of here sooner than we thought." She moved to the back and popped the hatch, and jumped down onto the ground as Greer and the few marines grabbed their gear and weapons.

Greer always saw war but not the after math as much, he watched as they brought in more and more wounded civilians into the Gym and a couple other buildings. The colonial had a command tent already set up near what looked to be a small park he started for it and gestured for shay and his team "lets get that leg looked at while we have time" he slung his G-36 over his shoulder and headed for the tent where colonial marine medical staff where stitching up a few marines and civilians. "i wonder if there is a hard line to Atlantia" he watched as the worked on shay's leg.

Shoving the keys into her pocket for the time being, she leaned down against the car and looked at Michael. "Give me just a minute," she said and turned, heading over to the tent where the other Colonials had gone. Greer was next to Ensign Jansen while the medics worked on her injured leg. She walked over to the two of them and offered a tired smile. "Greer, things seem to be under control for the time being. Take some down time and rest before we head back to the ship in a few days. I'll have a radio if you need anything."
Patting him on the shoulder, Sam smiled once more and turned to leave the tent. She nodded to Thomas and Rebecca as she passed by. Climbing into the car, she half grinned at Michael as she set her radio down. "Just in case," It would be smarter to at least have the radio handy, seeing that Mason had left her in charge. Everything seemed to be calming down for the time being, hopefully everyone could get some much needed rest. Turning the key to start the car, she asked, "Okay ... where to?"

All he could think about other than her is sleep something he used to take for granted now seems almost essential. He had been running on fumes of adrenaline he had been taking to stay awake but now it was crashing down around him. Turning to Thomas before rolling up the window, "Have fun but do not call for me or anything till I see you on the Atlantia," rolling up the window as he set his arm down on the arm rest, "are you sure you can drive stick?"

Shrugging lazily, Sam nodded and pulled on her seat belt. A muffled yawn escaped her mouth, and she noticed that Michael seemed as tired as she did. "Right, I think we could both use some sleep. We can rest up and then decide where to go from there." Judging by the shape they were both in, it surprised her that they were still going. She looked at his side and frowned. "I'll change that when we get there."Revving the engine a few times, she grinned at him. "Oh course I can drive stick. Relax and hang on." With that, Sam smirked and shifted gears, and the car went speeding off down the road.

Noticing them racing off, he held onto his rifle as he too walked over to the Colonial Tent only to approach Greer; "Used to work with Michael Thrax about a decade ago and well the inside scoop here is basically rescue operations," pausing as he noticed them being worked on, "had anything to eat believe it or not but it helps in the healing process."
Grinning as he pulled out a nutrition bar from his vest, "Oh since Sam is gone and well I am a Terran Lieutenant and your on Terra...just let's keep the chain of command to a minimum and well let's get a job done please."

As Chief Marty McFly, Sparta Fire Department (npc)
Watching as his men battled the raging fires all over the city, Chief McFly was glad that the reinforcements from all over the planet were now arriving in force. He was also grateful to the Terran military as well as the Colonials that were pouring into the city, or what was left of it.
Surprising, the outer edges of the city were spared and the buildings and homes were being used to treat the wounded, since all the government buildings and hospitals had been destroyed. Looking over at a group of men and women standing around a large military vehicle, Chief McFly walked over to them.
"Is one of you General Cotter? I'm Chief Marty McFly of the Sparta Fire Department. Can you get some more heavy equipment in here? We've got thousands of people trapped in the shelters underneath all these burning and destroyed buildings and I'm afraid they're going to be cooked alive if we don't get them out soon."

*As a group of soldier's run over to help, this big Terran passes through hearing his name.* "Hello Chief here's a few solder's to help along with these we salvaged from a site. Hope they can help?"*Heading across the street to the medic tent, with the rifles on my back. Reaching over into the opening spreading it open, ducking my head down. Walking inside cocking my head walking over.* "Welcome to Sparta En. Jansen and Greer, I am Gen. Cotter. Hmm hey Doc how is she doing. good that's great news. Why don't you both head into the school and grab some food. It's gonna be along day, on the bright side seems the Cylons went into hiding or the left. We everything you two need just ask, tell the rest of your men your all are under my protect until the Atlantia returns."

Laughing, Shay pulled out a flask hidden away in her ruck. She looked around for something to drink out of, finding two small plastic cups on one of the tables. Reaching over to grab them, she poured some in each cup and handed one to Greer. "Bottoms up." Downing hers, Shay looked up to see who joined them in the tent. She gave off a brief salute to General Cotter. "Thank you sir, I'm sure we'll be just fine now."

Noticing everything was covered, he tapped his earpiece as he started back over to the Humvee; "Things are covered in Sparta...if you wanna talk I'll be in the bar," opening up the back as he set his rifle down with his vest. Keeping his holsters on, he closed up the back as he walked around to the front. Closing the door, he slipped on his sunglasses as he set his ranks into the center console, along with his dog tags as he watched a guard walk up to him, "Parked in the wrong spot sorry," pulling out, he started his way out of the city, tossing out an ID Michael gave to him, a fake copy of Colonel Mason's ID.
