The crash was a blur but even after the crash the radiation detector was still ticking away. Waking up and instinctively unbuckling himself from the flight seat, he dropped to the ground as groans could be heard around him. The Raptor had been split in two with debris and the team spread between two crash sites. Sitting against the twisted metal, Victor could hear his A.I yelling at him while blood covered the right side of his face. Get your ass up! They need you right now
Reaching over to his back to pull out the sterile water as he washed out his wound and eyes before putting on one of Gabe's spare goggle sunglasses. Getting the Tauron out of the flight seat, he laid him down but couldn't treat anyone with this radioactive ash around but he wasn't alone out here. Drawing his pistol, the glasses outlined a man who was slowly approaching with a squad of soldiers; "Who are you?" Heavily medicated on anti-radiation meds, Jon and his team observed the Raptor crash land but unlike them they walked mostly here from the nearby base. This hemisphere was dotted with old Terran SF bases from the old war with many sealed which meant safe places to drag survivors. Climbing up the pushed up dirt hill formed by the Raptor nose portion, Icarus lifted his hand to the medic; "We saw the crash and here to help." Having his Spartans head to the second crash site, he knew this crash wasn't just bad but the majority had radiation levels high enough to kill the average person. Laying them down in the dirt, Icarus pulled out his map as he noticed they were a mile from SF base Kilo-76 which was built after the war so likely has material to treat radiation sickness. Everything except for the personnel was heavily radiated which meant that the Island was gone. Pulling out pouches that contained an anti-radiation blanket inside, he began stripping down the soldiers as they placed each one on a stretcher with the blanket under and around them hoping it will help their recovery.

Victor could feel his skin on fire as the Spartans encouraged him to lay on a rack. Slowly watching the uniform being cut away, he could see the radiation taking full effect while his A.I worked on countering it. IV in followed by meds to boost his immune system as well as increase his resilience against the effects. Drifting asleep, he could feel them lift him but nothing past that...

IV in followed by meds to boost his immune system as well as increase his resilience against the effects. Drifting asleep, he could feel them lift him but nothing past that... Carrying the kid, the base was their best chance of resisting the radiation and wait out for the Medical Corps to arrive. The uniforms, the gear and even the patches suggested this team came from Kobol which meant these were SFs. Having the bottle of water taken as well as on board medical supplies, they would have to stabilize the crew for now. SF Base Kilo-76Walking to the vault type entrance, they brought as many as they could before closing the air tight door. Suddenly LED lights switched to blue as the compartment covered all of them in a blur foam that penetrated their clothing before flashing them with a purple UV light. Taking the blankets off, they restarted the process before venturing inside the base. Taking them to the Medical Wing, the base was deep inside the mountain thus too far from the effects of the radiation but getting here was a two hour walk. Assigning their medic to the SF Team as well as two personnel while the others rested and rotated out every twelve hours. Placing their gear into a UV oven, this ensured they could use it again without taking the risk of being irradiated.

SF Base Kilo-76 Drifting in and out...
Running to the nearest hill, Gabe dropped down to over the ridge as the nearest soldier handed him the binoculars. Compensating for range, he could see Colonial Marines being led by a strike team as he noticed a man cleanly shaven. Whispering to the soldier, Gabe knew the man and the bounty on his head but there was other worse Terrans here; "They want him dead?"
The soldier placed his hand over the barrel, orders were quite clear and they couldn't risk fighting the other Terrans alone; "No, you guide them," turning his head aside as orders came in, "you are being released to them. Survive this and we'll discuss your future."
Opening his eyes to the medical team wrapping him with a sterile cloth, he knew it was pretty bad as he tried to speak but he had a breathing tube down his throat. His eye lids were getting heavy as he thought back to Kobol. Thinking of his promise...he could see bags of dark substances he knew was for the radiation he had taken.

Josephine opened her eyes but they were blurry. Her head hurt too. She tried to sit up but couldn't. A soft voice was talking to her.
"Easy young miss, I need you to be still."
She cocked her head towards the sound of the voice. A hand was dabbing a cloth on her face, making it easier for her to see. Yeah, much easier. She could see smoke, people moving around and then, the face of a person kneeling over her. She saw a patch on the shoulder, a medical patch of some sort. Finding her voice, she asked what was going on.
"What happened, where am I?"
"You're okay now, as are most of the people who were on board the craft that crashed right after the detonation on Frondal Island, some 3 thousand kilometers away. Must have been a huge one to have an effect this far away. Your pilot was superb at landing the plane under those circumstances. Sadly, the cockpit crew did not survive the crash. You have a broken pevis, a few cracked ribs and a concussion, also a number of minor cuts, bruises and abrasions but overall, you're in fairly good shape. We've given you anti-rad meds due to the prevailing winds carrying fallout to Ersea but you'll be okay once we get you to the hospital. The EMP knocked out power but fortunately the government has the resources to provide stand-by power to the hospitals and government buildings."
Josephine only recalled flying into Ersea City from her assignment on Sparta. Other than that, everything else was a fog to her. Listening to the female medic talk, she surmised some sort of huge nuclear detonation had taken place. From whom? Cylons no doubt but why now? She continued to take in the scene around her.
"Okay, this one's ready for transport to the city, let's get her and the others moved and head out pronto. We've got five more crash sites to get around to and we're spread thinly."
Looking down at Josephine, the medic smiled.
"Your plane was lucky, it was able to land in a fairly level area. Three others crashed into the mountains and we know there are survivors but we're having a hell of a time getting crews to them. Okay, it's time to go, good luck miss."
Josephine felt herself being lifted and carried towards a waiting VTOL type craft, she could see the medical emblem on the side. Once she got to where they were taking her, she would need to get in touch with her superiors, if they were even alive.

SF Base Kilo-76
RECRUITS YOU KNOW WHY YOU ARE HERE?! SFs say you not good enough? Mommy didn't love you enough? Or is it cause you love pain? I could give two fraks! You are in my corps to fight and hold territory against those Spartan dirt eaters!
John knew why he was there and honestly he could careless about the Spartans but more about getting even. The Navy promised him a unit and he was there too take delivery...wait he had already done this before. Getting up from the mud, the environment changed to the Raptor crash where he had dragged Jonathan before passing out himself. Maybe his mind was protecting him till he noticed a man sitting on the debris, noticing it was more of a dark shadow; "Who are you?"
Lifting his head as he got up, revealing himself to be him as the rest remained dark; "I'm you. The medical team found you had the connection just no partnership so frak it here I am."
So he was qualified just they had ran out? Taking a seat on the Raptor, he pondered on how bad it was; "Bad?"
"Frakkin terrible but your living...just focus on a good memory."
Outside. He was being wrapped and treated while more injured and acute radiation victims came in across the providence since these bases were designed for this event and had supplies that weren't under electronic lock and key.

SF Base Kilo-76
Waking up with a tube down his throat, Jonathan was in a tube filled with the anti-radiation foam that was circulating around to treat the radiation. He had been dreaming not of Eva but a life without the A.I though that was short lived as his A.I came back online. Finding the soft gel buttons on the side, he opened the pod from the wall as the foam kept going around him till he could sit up. He was radiation free with his skin now tan from the heat and abrasiveness of the foam that penetrated and cleansed his skin. Stepping out onto the rubber mat, he turned to the Colonial officer who rescued their sorry asses; " How bad is it?"
Catching the new olive draft fatigues, Jonathan started to get dressed but wasn't sure why he asked. Defense network and the interstellar radio was offline which meant all hope was both the Battlestar and ground based defenses.

The raptor made it's way to the southern hemisphere and JJ checked the map. She knew the Continent of Eresea was one of the hardest hit areas so she headed there to evacuate whoever she could back to the ship. A quick check of her radiation patch showed it was slowly turning to a darker grey color.
Keying her mic "Independence, this is Frost, Raptor 806. Arrived on Continent of Eresea to evacuate any survivors we can find. Rad Patch is turning but I have some time." she started flying lower to set the raptor down on a grassy area and hopefully pick up some passengers to evac before it turned to black.

"All Independence pilots drop off survivors as well as injured civilians off in Corinth and Delos. If those patches are black return to the Independence for decontamination procedures." After dropping off another load of radiation patients JJ heard the new orders from the Admiral. She quickly looked at her wrist and saw that her patch was very darkly filled in. Only a partial band remained on the outer edge of the patch. She waited until the hospital staff had cleared and the ramp was brought back up and secured on the Raptor before lifting off. Turning to Crash Down "I think we need to head back to the Indy. We've saved quite a few people but my patch is almost completely dark. How's yours looking?" she was worried about him knowing that he was the one closest to the infected patients and the open ramp while they were off loaded. She pushed the throttle full forward and headed back for the ship at top speed knowing time was not on her side in this matter of the radiation poisoning.

I hear the orders to return to the ship and when Frost asks me the condition of my patch I look at my arm. "Well, Captain, it ain't good!" seeing almost an entirely filled in patch I can feel my heart beat quicken just a little as my stomach begins to feel somewhat queasy like I been eatin bad tacos or somethin. "My stomach's not real happy with me either. Let's get there fast as we can" I take a deep breath and continue to monitor the dradis as my assigned task of keeping us safe. I push down the rad sickness for now.

The Raptor made a quick turn and JJ pushed the throttle to max as she began to feel uneasy about the state of those Rad Patches on their arms. She and Crash Down had made a lot of runs to the hospital and back to the areas hardest hit but it's time to get back to the Indy now. She headed for open space as the Raptor followed the plotted course back to the ship.

Tossing the SF some clothes, this location was far from safe considering the entire area was under evacuation orders; "On a scale of 1-10, a 15 around the Southern Hemisphere. No idea on the number dead but it's high and there is speculation there is more," hearing more of them starting to wake up as one of his men yelled over to him. "Stallion inbound. The VTOLs have cleared the airport." Interesting. A single craft coming to pick them up and didn't go through the normal channels unless Command forgot about them? It was quite likely since the bunker made it hard to communicate but he needed to get them dressed and armed; "Looks like someone was looking out for you all."

SF Base Kilo-76Of course a kilo base...the shelter was made to survive a direct him from a kiloton nuke but the materials it was made of wouldn't survive forever against some 10,000 times stronger than that. While flying on auto-pilot, Michael had discovered this craft could fly to low orbit but they had a jump drive tucked away underneath the deck. It shouldn't even surprised him considering once they Terrans figured out how to miniaturize the drive then they started placing it on anything and everything to examine how to improve those craft. The mountain wall began to open with stones tumbling down that had laid undisturbed till now. Staying in flight mode, he eased the power off while the Marine leveled them out for a landing. Rolling to a stop, the cabin doors opened while they shutdown the engines and soon switched everything to standby mode. Once more waiting on his men as he stepped out of the Stallion knowing that they'll be spending time on the tight space while waiting on the Independence.

SF Base Kilo-76 Getting dressed in the brown fatigues, John noticed that everyone was also getting low orbital space suit which likely meant their task on Terra was complete. The space suit itself is often worn on Ares by the Marines there but rarely seen on Terra. The markings represented the old SF 7th Legion that once protected this area but now likely on Kobol. Slipping into the suit, the hangar doors opened to reveal the Admiral and his Marines in the same suit; "Just couldn't get away." Laughing a bit, they began to approach the craft with uncertainty of what the next mission was to come.
