Josephine looked out the window of the vehicle, taking in all the damage that had been done to the city. She sighed quietly and made a mental remark to herself about rebuilding the city. Some of that work was taking place as she looked at the ruins of the buildings and structures. The main thoroughfare of the city was cleared and the rubble of the buildings along it had been pushed back quite a bit. The city was clean but there was still so much to do. She had informed the Marine Sergeant to take the scenic route through the city on their way to the Government Compound.

On the road to Corinth.
Having finally arrived back on Terra after what seemed an eternity coming back from her assignment to Kobol, Marla smelled the air flowing in from her open window. She could detect the scent of hibiscus and lavender, plus the overpowering smell of the drivers cologne. Otherwise, all she could smell was the stench of what she could only assume was the burning from the incinerators located outside the Capital, burning the debris from the city. She had been told the majority of debris had been removed, all the recyclable material removed and the rest either ground up and used to backfill the numerous holes or burned in any of the numerous incinerators located around every major city.
The dead had been dealt with immediately following the devastating explosion that essentially destroyed the Capital, thankfully. All that remained was the completion of rebuilding the city, specifically the residential area to the south. It had been decided to not rebuild the multi-story apartment buildings but rather to plant trees and grass in their place.
Soon she would be in the Capital and she would report to the Government Compound and await her instructions.
