Wait, what? This was insanity at it's finest and with the rain pouring down they had minutes till that rip tide dragged them away. Clipping a rifle to his vest, Victor knew either way that he was going to survive this bullshit though he probably won't be going to London.
Climbing out, he dropped down into water almost to his knees as he started around to the front of the truck to release the tow cable. Attaching it to the Jeep, lightning clashed nearby causing a white light to shine over them. It felt like every second that the water was getting higher as Samuel helped him back into the truck just as a log smacked into the truck. The impact pulled them further into the river which now put the tow cable on unnecessary pressure as the Jeep started slow.

Stepping out of the raptor with Romo, Bones took a breath with the fresh air as he rubbed his hands into the dirt. Smelling the distinctive smell of rain, Bones knew it was close by as the two massive cargo raptors dropped off the four Jeeps as well as the two teams. Kneeling down, he planted a knife in the ground to get an exact location of the impending storm; "I suggest setting up camp after all leaving now will get us caught in the storm." Clipping his pack on, Bones took another pain suppressor which kept the pain down and seemed to silence Michael as he watched everyone unpacking. His last meeting with Sam wasn't too well and he knew Michael would want to regain control if she was here. Watching Bones heading to a nearby tree, she knew this storm had to be bad if he insisted on being off of the ground. It was pretty terrifying to have him with a weapon but you can't simply walk around Kobol without a weapon. Droplets began to drop as lightning struck nearby, heading over to the Jeep as the rain picked up with the storm racing onto their position. Noticing Romo climbing inside, the teams began to pile inside as the water began touching the rims; "Having fun, Bones?"

Stabbing 4 knives into either side of the tree, Bones created a brace before strapping himself in as the rain and wind rushed over. He had done this once before on Terra during the war and held a spot for three days before reinforcements arrived. Placing his ball cap on his head, Bones was shielded from the storm as he noticed that the Jeeps were getting battered...yet he remained. The host, Michael, was strapped to the other side of the tree as the storm raged and this bothered Bones.
Bones was pure soldier. Bones is essentially an evolved A.I that no longer had a human counterpart. Pain, hunger and power of nature is not just new to him but an enemy which seemed to be fighting against him...and then there was Michael. The human who was broken from war but also love...interesting concept which prevented him from coming here. For 23 years, Bones had been joined with Michael yet hated his counterpart since he didn't do or want anything that Bones was made for.

Helping Victor back inside the Jeep, the log had now added tension to the cable which meant soon the Jeep would pull they're dead weight of five tons which was due to the cargo. Driving up onto the bank, the cable was retracted before they drove into the forest which was littered with stone ruins which provided shelter from the rain. Following Daniel into what appeared to be temple of Aristaeus, this could've been a well maintained forest a few thousand years ago and this could once more be home.
Climbing out of the truck with a oxygen rebreather to prevent a repeat as he flipped on his vest light. Hearing a crackle on the radio, Samuel turned to a shocked Daniel; "Did they say Bones? If he's here...shit."

Placing a rebreather on as well, Daniel kept the lights on as he walked along an old column which had sword marks on it. The Book of Pithia says there was conflict on Kobol but who started the fight? Pisces obviously were quiet militaristic and appeared to have bases nearby yet Daniel saw early rifles so why use swords? Maybe the other tribes had issues with this temple and those in it after if things got bad then fake gods could be blamed.
Watching Victor taking a plant sample, he wiped the vegetation and mud off of the blood stained marble to reveal a symbol. Flipping on his tactical pad, he reviewed over the ancient flags to reveal it belonged to the Gemini; "The Gemini owned the temple but who would attack them?"

Keeping her eye on the surroundings, she was frankly surprised that the nearby shrubby didn't collapse or even wipe away all existence of these ruins. Why would these tribesmen fight? Greed? Farming went bad? Or the advent of robots much like in the Colonies? Terrans know that the Gondawans had simple robots and from there they had created safe Cylons at one point before that program was shutdown.
Walking past the plants, she cut vines clear as she noticed what appeared to be writing as she took photographs for translation; 'Life under the one god not the multiple.'
Religion. Religion leads to greed and could be one reason that the tribesmen split early on but it was a simple theory.

If he's here...shit." Nodding, Victor knew Bones was dangerous but with an injured Michael maybe that'll slow that bastard down. He had seen Bones in action when he was in training, he had killed 6 ex-SFs as well as 12 Taurons with just a knife but he believed Bones was gone. Without the implant functioning then Michael will have difficulty maintaining control yet he may have already lost it. Climbing out of the truck, he went to the back to get his medical bag before starting getting dust samples as well as plant samples. Some of the trees appeared to be ancient pear trees but if they were edible then this could be alternative food for them. Even the temple itself appeared to have once had a pond in the middle as he took samples, noticing that this wasn't a pond; "They used a compound that is almost like napalm to light up this place."

Walking through the outer temple in what appeared to be the homes of the worshipers with remnants of plates. The temple may have been Gemini but the Leo tribesmen lived outside possibly as protection but against who? The Pisces were shutting down their bunkers and bases yet used weapons that Terrans used a hundred years ago. Swords could be more reliable for close range combat?
Tapping his foot onto the ground, it seemed hallow as he slammed his foot down to break the ground to break it. Kneeling down, he picked up a tin box which was bolted together as the carefully picked it up just as the bottom fell out. The papers were dust yet one thing remained; a bow. Part metal, polished drift wood yet the string had disappeared but it was obviously an important object which he could still use. Placing it on his pack, he knew whatever family was here probably died here so they could never return to it but now a Terran a descendant of the 13th tribe managed to retrieve it.

Driving out of the marshland seemed to be a bad idea. The Jeep couldn't gain traction on these muddy hills which caused them to do the one thing that they hadn't planned...leave the Jeep behind. Keeping the beacon on for future retrieval, they began walking through the hills with the mud pouring down. Carrying rope, medical bag with spare ammo which doubled his weight yet they all were heavy with Evia still quiet. None of them were talking. The rain deafened them with the sound of trees collapsing from the shear weight and ground giving away.
Kobol was hell. Johnathan had mud pouring into his boots with his clothes soaking wet...this place was draining. The training on Terra was tough but never as difficult as this and his A.I was aiding in keeping him going by numbing his pain receptors.

In the Jeep, they easily knocked out 52 miles but they had to do 68 miles by foot in the space of 4 months. It was do able but once they get to the lake then he definitely taking a dip unless there is something there preventing that too. Carrying his gear as well as a retractable radio tower with a micro core which is founding block of the new network. The micro core was the most important part of the new Kobol network and if the Cylons showed up they could coordinate a resistance through the network.
Climbing over the hill, there was yet another frakkin hill but at least the rain was giving up but he feared the humidity would make every mile difficult.

Stepping out of the Jeep, Oliver knew this had to be a religious city that was focused on honoring this god but why destroy this place. Pulling his knife out, he cut away vines to reveal a partial miral to reveal half a lion but the other side was a scorpion; Scorpio. Maybe this was the hostiles in question yet why attack? There was too many questions and not enough answers. Walking back to the temple, he noticed that Samuel had a bow on his back which meant it had survived Kobol; a victory upon itself.

Glancing over at Samuel, he noticed a near tarnish symbol of a scorpion which stood for the Scorpio tribesmen and could mean after killing the Gemini and Leo that they took over. It's not uncommon for one tribe to resettle in lands captured but now posses who caused them to leave or did they rush to evacuate Kobol. The Galleon, a ship rumored to be used by the 13th tribe, could easily fit 100,000 people so maybe the other 12 tribes were smaller?
Victor knew General Thrax as well as the Colonials would like to find the site of the original exodus of Kobol. Concorde is theorized to be said launch site since the lake appears to be man made and nearly 800 miles from the mountains and well over a 1,000 miles west of the ocean.
Picking a pear, his tests showed that they were edible as he took a taste; "The Kobol pear. Might as pick what we can and we have only 10 miles to go."

10 miles? Shit, that was closer than even he expected and even more that meant recon the area long before the settlers arrive. Heading back to the vehicle, ordering James back into the back with Victor climbing in; "So 10 miles to rolling hills and farmland."
Victor nodded, answering him with a simple answer; "Ideally yes."
Shifting into gear, he drove along the ancient footpath and ensured that he didn't knock down any ruins before veering off as the trees parted...majestic rolling hills for miles. Streams were running between the hills and they couldn't see ruins in sight which meant this was farmland at one time or maybe this was the bit of beauty Kobol was hiding from them.

Victor was shocked. He was expecting a light forest but nothing like rolling hills with patches of trees which littered the landscape but it was perfect. But, now they needed to find a place to setup since this site as well as many others would need a military site for protection. They also had to build a descent radio tower as well as find a place to place the micro core to help create the new Kobol network.
Spotting trees around a hill as well as the stream extending to a river, the site would be suitable for a descent base as well as a checkpoint with a hydro electric plant. Tapping Samuel, the truck started towards the area with the Jeep behind them; leaving tire trails in the grass. A simple base for now till the HDF can send military grade supplies to replace the wood for concrete and armor.
Climbing out of the truck after stopping by the stream, this actually felt like a new start as he kneeled down by the water; "I know we picked some micro generators and a few miles of cable but want to work on simple quarters or a camp?"

Climbing out of the Jeep, Liam had been all over the Colonies but this was something else like the gods had been hiding this place. The only reference point he had was the fields on Tauron when he was a young child but even that didn't seem to fit. Turning to Victor, he knew any barrack needed planning and time to build which meant it was another night in the tents.
Pulling out a hatchet, he noticed that the Specialists were unloading the truck, he focused on making a small fire for the night. Once the network and radio was online, they would be able to connect with the satellite in orbit...but for now they can relax.
