Slowly pulling her up, he knew that if the ground was this unstable that even the ground below him could just as unstable which meant getting her up. Grasping onto her vest, he pulled her to safety as he picked up his pack; "Making camp next to a stream not the best move," passing as his furry friend dropped down beside him, "didn't know you would risk coming here for me." Picking up his rifle as he knelt down, a pack of bears moved behind him but thankfully ignoring him; "Beasts here aren't afraid of us so camping near a stream," shaking his head. He had missed her and even human contact for days though since he saw the drone overhead which meant he was in unmapped territory. Unmapped territory meant anything was here and if he knew Jack, he could rub it in that he found the infamous launch site for the original tribes before he even got here. Once they were both safely above ground again, Sam listened to the rustling around them, knowing any moment they could be dead just from the wildlife. She breathed a sigh of relief when the creatures moved along in the shadows until it was gone, as if they weren’t there at all. ”This wasn’t camp. We were just surveying the area and moved too far away from the others.” She knew it had been stupid to proceed, and her team was less for it now. She was somewhat taken back by Michael’s words, his surprise that she would be there at all. Why wouldn’t she come looking for him? ”I’m sure I am the last person you expected to see. But, I was told you left the ship with Romo and a strange woman, I figured it warranted investigating.” Sam chuckled at the statement, but the expression on her face was far different. Everything had been fine, until it wasn’t. He left behind his ring and took off, maybe in some way to get back at her for the same thing on Terra. Despite his actions, she’d kept the ring, along with her own; they were side by side on a chain that hung around her neck. ”Was this your way of punishing me for leaving before?” She knew those on Terra had no other choice. Their home would be gone in a matter of years, and this was a planet that had to become their refuge. But whatever had convinced him to leave couldn’t have just been about helping Terra.

A Gondawan lab was found at Concordia so that meant his walk had to continue as he turned to Sam, knowing that she had questions; "They brought me here for my tracking and ability to read the land but I'm sure they'll manage. Jack sent two teams to two points to find the fabled launch site of the tribes and build around it. Not the kind of together time I was thinking of."

Setting up the fort, her men had killed several bears as well as crocodiles before setting up the new fencing as she sat on the wall. With the raptors overhead, the men had cleared out the middle of the base to house the fission reactor that would power the new defense grid. Receiving word that the Vigilance had dropped out of FTL, her guns and armor would make this fort into the first defense of this world and the runways in her pods would allow ships to land here.
Glancing over at Romo who stood with his Picon troops who had been digging the massive hole; digging conduits so the power can flow into the quarters. Peering out at the crews in the swamp, they were turning the trees into a suitable landing site for the battlestar.

Caught up by how the pieces fit that he paid no mind to John before snapping out of it; they needed the Specialists. Sending out a broadcast, he joined John at the stairs as he unpacked the water reservoir bladders which is one idea of staring the water; "Delta and Specialists, head to Concordia. We have discovered a bunker and need assistance in securing the facility." Dragging over a shelf, Tom tossed him the bilge pump as he connected the hoses and began moving the water to the one 30 gallon bladder. Taking a deep breath, he and John tossed down the last of they're glow sticks to light up the lower floor that remained untouched for all this time. Diving down into the water, the rebreather extended his time underwater as he moved past lab tables but also picked up what appeared to be a map. Any maps of this region would be important since it marked building which were now ruins and help identify the launch site. Taking a water sample, this water felt like it was a bit warmer than usual as he went down another level into another lab; this lab had power. The screens had writing on it and he couldn't read it but some of this was live data with views of Terra which made him wonder why would they have this? Reaching the surface, he pulled the rebreather off as he took a deep breath; "We need to get more water out. The reactor is still online." Days of removing water from the levels below with two trucks and a bilge pump, sealing cracks and finally they could explore more. Handing the body over to Samuel to take back to Victor, they still had questions to answer including why research into this subject. From files that they found in some terminal rooms and rough translations, the 13th tribe didn't believe in the gods but science out of all thing. The plants on Kobol had been classified to edible and inedible even half of the animals were researched also DNA stored. From one of the terminals in the lab, a Dr. Fredrick Sinclair proposed building humanoids but it was scrutinized by the tribe as crossing a line. The doctor had even created an isolated community where he studied them and modified their behavior before the project was shut down. Johnathan had mixed feelings about this since he was half Gondawan so half of him wondered about the community of humanoids and if they're still here. Downloading another terminal to the network so Victor can start the rough translations.

He knew water surrounded the bunker and the water they pulled from here are in giant bladders since they didn't want to take chances. Grabbing some lab equipment, he started a simple test and soon realized that this was water based coolant which posed the question what was it keeping cold? Opening the lab that they cleared out, John took a seat on his cot as he glanced over at the two of them; "This lab is going to take decades to determine what is here and how far the experiments went but what do we have?"

Turning to John, Tom reviewed over the terminal containing the translated information as he answered him; "So this facility wasn't exactly Gondawan but Dr. Frederick Sinclair who was quite intelligent and was working outside of the tribe. He was perfecting their DNA to create a better human but out of the thousands of experiments only ten were successful. But apparently the tribe tried to keep this quiet till the Gemini found out." Taking a breath, he took a sip of water; "We'll know more soon but we do know the descendants of the 13th tribe came to Terra but not much is known afterwards or what happened to Dr. Sinclair."

Walking his normal route and lighting the LED posts, the bright lights were keeping back the wolves who were once dogs. He had seen what they could do to a creature but for some reason they hated these bright lights. Reviewing the documents sent, whatever they found and this Dr. Sinclair seemed to be a guy trying to be a god. Genetic manipulation and even the creation of another helix which sets Terrans apart from Colonials but more study notes on this small tribe of humans that he dubbed the 14th tribe. If no one knew of this other tribe then they could still be here? Even with they're mapping, they only managed to get 10% of Kobol mapped out and that's just on this continent.
He pondered on what else could be out there just out of reach but for now this doctor from the past has their full attention. Maybe his experiments were that of academic or creating a better soldier that could live longer...no matter what it was they'll soon know.

Marla had awakened to the sound of howling in the distance. She instinctively reached for her weapon, then realized what she had been told about wolves, or something like that. Laying her head back down, she drifted back off to sleep, thinking about the next few weeks when more ships would be arriving. Unless those fancy new FTL's acted up and sowed the journey here.

She was a bit surprised to hear that his brother had been married. Then again, she’d never known much about Jack, and had only recently heard that the man had died. Whether it was true or not, she didn’t wish the same fate for Michael. Someone convincing him to leave had her worried enough to follow, despite whatever they might find here. At his words, however, she stopped to look at him. ”Reactivate what?” A part of her feared what he would say, knowing it could be a darker part of him reemerging again. It was inevitable that she would have ended up there anyway. Terra was headed for a disaster and the people needed a new home. Kobol, hopefully, be that home. Sam would do her part, but to her, it hardly mattered if they were going to be torn apart again. ”Believe me, this wasn’t my idea either. But, it’s nice to get out of the cic for once.” She chuckled quietly, only for a moment. She was still torn on what she would face back on ship, the families of her lost team, and what she would have to tell them. The more people that died, the harder it seemed to get as the years went on. Sam continued on in silence through the darkness, stopping to rest when they came to a small clearing. ”I don’t plan on leaving this time, you know. I just want to help you. You were supposed to be recovering, and then you were gone.”

Taking a sip of water, he got up as he whistled at the cat; "I'm here and well just taking a walk around Kobol before the ship gets here," glancing over at Sam, "before you go back to work."

Marla had awakened though she felt as if she hadn't gotten any sleep. It was still dark and she looked at her watch, then laughed. She was still on Terran time. The irony wasn't completely lost on her. She looked into her bag, pulling out some papers. Looking at them, she ran over some things in her mind.
It had taken them just a little over two weeks to get from Terra to Kobol, all thanks to the new FTL's, compliments of Colonial Fleet R&D and the Drexl Corporation. Not surprising, at least to her, there were some design flaws and structural defects when they were installed, hence the fact that several of the freighters were now down for repairs to the deck plating and the drive connectors. The time table for fixing them so that the ships could return to Terra was now at three weeks, which put their departure three weeks later than planned.
The next group of ships, forty five of them to be exact, were set to depart the Terran system three days after the first group had departed. That should have placed them here several days ago. That meant the ships had experienced issues, or worse, surrounding the new FTL's. It would be anyones guess as to where those ships were, if they were even still in existence.
That created a new set of problems for the growing settlement. There were supplies and other materials that were being sent in specific quantities and time frames of delivery.
There was also the question of when the Colonial survivors from the Twelve Colonies were set to begin arriving.
Marla wished there were someway to get a message back to Terra. She also wished there were someway to send a ship out to each set of coordinates to try and locate the second group of ships heading this way, to find out if they were okay.
She hoped that someone back home would be aware of what had happened. Even she knew that cost cutting measures and getting in a hurry had produced this situation but the undercover type inside her also knew that sabotage almost surely played a part as well.

Walking his route, he had been here for months but still couldn't get use to how quiet it is compared to home but is that truly home. The shit that they're uncovering here makes one believe that this is home and that Terra was just another colony. Maybe all this was bullshit but it didn't matter they were here...was that just music? Who in the hell would be playing music out here? Getting up, he could see headlights in the distance and knew it was Samuel with the proto-Terran and that he needed to get to his makeshift lab. Lighting the final fire, he knew from the past experience that these animals were afraid of fire which could be a trait passed down.

Marla had sat outside her tent, although the damn thing was actually bigger than her apartment back on Terra. She couldn't sleep so she sat there, staring up at the night sky. It amazed her how clear the sky was and how much larger the stars appeared. In time, that would change, once construction crews began building cities, power plants, factories, all the stuff that a modern society needed. That would bring, noise, pollution, corruption, greed, all the things a modern society seems to create. She took a sip of the water bottle she had brought outside with her and started thinking about how long it would be before this planet was ruined. The sound of music came across her ears and her attention was diverted to the sight of headlights off in the distance.
At least she wasn't the only one up.

Pulling into the valley, Samuel had made it back in record time considering he had to dodge cargo containers throughout the ride. Pulling up to the make shift base, he parked the truck before carrying the massive case into Victor's tent; "Full work up and boss says don't discuss it with anyone," even Samuel knew the importance of this. Even mere suggestion or speculation could cause chaos which here on Kobol can't happen.
Walking outside the tent as he ordered James to stay and play guard while he called in for the fuel tanker to refuel his truck.

She had known what his answer would be, that Bones was still a part of him, because Sam had never believed when he said that he was gone before. Something like that would always be apart of him. What alarmed her was not knowing when she was with Michael, or if it was the other. Taking a deep breath, she snapped out of the haze that clouded her mind when he whistled for his companion. She took a moment to look at their surroundings, noticing a glow not far from where they stood. ”To be honest, I don’t know when the Independence plans to arrive here. I can’t technically go back to work until then, and I don’t plan on it.” Three separate supply ships were supposed to have followed her days after she left the ship, yet none of them had arrived. She wondered how long, or even if, before they showed.
